Bird watchers delight in this unique and tasteful homes. We are located 1.2 miles south of town center with a semiprivate beach 2 blocks away. Fully furnished and well appointed, our home offers a chance to experience the best of Sayulita. Close enough to enjoy the town, yet far enough away to avoid the noise. All of the homes in Villa Bali, were imported from Indonesia, and then painstakingly rebuilt in Sayulita. These antique (100+ year old) homes were modernized and then combined with other architectural items from around the world. Villa Bali #5 is the private home of the importers, designers and developers of the Villa Bali project, T.R. Lawrence and Linda O'Leary, who are also the owners of Nomads of Santa Fe. The Villa Bali project has a total of 6 homes in a small community on a private road. Safe, secure and serene. The 1 bedroom guest house has one queen bed, with one twin that substitutes as a couch, one bathroom, small kitchen, living and dining area. We have a property manager available to help you - we supply all linens, including beach towels and beach umbrellas, also have an outdoor BBQ. for grilling some big shrimp! This unique and tasteful home give you the chance to relax - wake up to the sounds of the jungle birds, enjoy the semi private beach with a good book and binoculars to see the whales jumping, and yet we have free internet to keep you connected to your other world.

Our stay at Villa Bali was perfect from beginning to end. The house we stayed in was charismatic and quaint, the woodwork and jungle setting made us fall in love with it immediately. Villa Bali was quite and just the right distance from town to give us the seclusion we needed and was still convienent to access all the restaurants and shops in town. The owners took great care of us and we can't wait to return.
I really loved our time here. The house was as beautiful as it looks and the view of the jungle was perfect. We woke up to multiple birds singing every morning and had tea on the awesome deck before our day started. I highly recommend the beach down the road for hanging out on. We spent many hours here enjoying the privacy ( we were the only ones on the beach except for a couple of dog walkers) The water was a bit too rough for proper swimming but TR and Linda lent us their boogie boards and we had hours of fun with the best boogie boarding ever. The also lent us their bikes so we could ride into town which was also great. Warning however it is a challenging ride in and out you need to be used to riding hills to make it. TR and LInda were very kind and helpful. We loved the walk into town and did it every night to and from with no issues. The last bit up to the house on the cobblestone hill can be challenging if you are not fit or have mobility issues. I can't wait to come back next year.
My husband and I had an enjoyable 2 weeks at Villa Bali--it's a beautiful little house, in a wooded, hilly area. He is an avid birder and was happy to find many species, many which he could see right from the porch. The owners were in residence the whole time we were there, and answered questions and provided any info we needed. The beautiful semi-private beach about a 15 minute walk from the house, with umbrella and lawn chairs provided at Villa Bali, is a treasure. The only drawback about the place is its distance from town--the mile and a half to and from Sayulita has quite a bit of elevation, and took 45 - 55 minutes each way; we're very active 65- and 70-year-olds and definitely felt the work-out! Several times we took at taxi home, for about $8US.
Definitely a new experience. all that we needed was there. great internet enabled us to share our experience with family and friends.
Linda and T.R. were in the neighboring cottage during our stay and had great recommendations for food and drinks, excellent knowledge of the local area, they were more then happy to help us out whenever we asked them about Sayulita.
The cottage is about five minutes from the edge of Sayulita, drive down the main road you'll turn onto a twisting dirt road that takes you through the jungle to a cobblestone road into a small isolated bungalow compound. The bungalow we stayed at is much nicer in person than the pictures depict, everything was nice and comfortable and all the basics were provided making it really easy to feel at home during our stay, the insect screens, extra towels and beach umbrella were very much appreciated; if I could change one thing it would be the bed, it was a little small for two people.
It was really nice being outside of Sayulita. The cottage was far enough away from town and the main roads that at night all you can hear are the sounds of the jungle; we enjoy peace and quiet so if you that's what your looking for this is the place.
The main beaches in Sayulita can become a bit crowded so it was great having a private beach a ten minute walk away, not as many people go to this beach since it can mostly only be accessed by foot and from the private properties that are along the beach, at most we saw twenty people on the beach with us at any one time.
It was a great stay in Sayulita and we would definitely stay at Villa Bali again.
What a place to taste Bali et Mexico together at the same time.
Don't pass on this one because you will not find this anywhere else.
Bravo to Linda and Terry for the creativity and vision.
I will never forget our stay in the jungle with a 5 minutes walk to a quiet beach and 15 minutes to town where you will find anything you want and more.
