About this property

1885 Inn - Brick Farmhouse in the Country

Remodeled brick farmhouse in quiet but convenient location - 35 minutes from Amish town of Shipshewana, 5 minutes from Kendallville, 30 minutes from Fort Wayne, 2 hours from each of Chicago, Detroit and Indy. Lots of room but set up for families to enjoy time together. Outside picturesque views of rolling farms, woods and private lake behind house. All new everything - appliances, plumbing, decor, etc. Large family room with lots of seating and large smart TV with streaming.

Large rooms and high ceilings throughout. Beautiful oak doors and woodwork throughout. Master bedroom has double french doors and separate entrance to full bath on main level, with large walk-in cedar lined closet off bath.

The entire house is available for guest use. The main entrance has 6 steps and north entrance at parking area has single step to double French doors.

This is a tourist area for 2 reasons: the Amish and the lakes/rivers. Amish country is only 20 minutes away, Shipshewana is 30 minutes, and we have Amish within a couple miles. There are over 600 glacier lakes in a 4 county area in the NE corner of IN, with lots of interconnecting rivers for boating, fishing, kayaking, etc. There are multiple wineries within 20 minutes with live music - Country Heritage, Sylvan Cellars, Byler Lane, and Satek. Quiet country paved roads and the 16 mile "fishing line" bike trail close by.
