Loved celebrating my husband's birthday in this lovely cabin. Beautiful fireplace. Everything spotless. Cute fishing decor. Nice walk to the fishing pond. Enjoyed it's proximity to Grandfather Vineyard and downtown Boone. Only negative was upstairs bedroom's mattress was quite uncomfortable, but that's just personal preference. Will return!!!
Attractive, clean, and located close Boone. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to visit again.
Our fourth stay at this quaint little cabin. Convenient to both Boone and Banner Elk. We love to get away and recharge and rejuvenate at the Kingfish. Nothing is forgotten. Firewood is available, wifi, and all the accoutrements necessary for a week in the mountains. Love, love, love this cabin.
The pictures really don't do this cabin justice. It is wonderfully decorated and very clean. Considering it is a one bedroom with a sleeping loft it is quite spacious with both inside and outside living/sitting areas. The weather was spectacular while we were there. Only downside that I noticed was that the cabin is quite dark on the inside so brighter watt bulbs might help and some decent kitchen knives would be beneficial (we could only locate one small one). We will definitely come back!
I reserved the cabin for my girlfriend birthday, we had a great time the cabin was perfectly furnished and very clean. Beautiful screened patio. I will definitely come back.
I agree with all the other comments regarding Kingfish Cabin, but what delighted me the most was the entertainment the surrounding setting offered. We were there in the fall a year ago enjoying happy hour on the screened in porch when we heard the leaves rustling and an unfamiliar honking sound. Around the corner came a Mama turkey and her 11 jakes. They took a running start down the hill and lifted into flight to position themselves in the tops of the trees in the backyard of the cabin. As none of us had ever seen a turkey fly, this was quite a sight! The next morning at sunset I woke to the same honking so I rushed to the window to see Mama herding her lively brood back up the hill. Fast-forward a year and a half to this past weekend, again at Kingfish and again enjoying happy hour on the screened porch, when a single male turkey appeared at dusk to settle into a treetop. I can’t help but think he was one of the juveniles I saw earlier coming “home” to roost. I love this place!
Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls and Caverns, Valle Crucis Park, Tweetsie Railroad, Tanger Outlets, Fishing, Hiking, Swimming, and much more in the area.
