About Owner/Manager

I absolutely love Portland and all that it has to offer. I recently relocated to be closer to family and wanted to keep my condo in Portland so I can visit, as well as allow friends, family, and guests to experience Portland.

Owner/Manager purchased this condo in 2003

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family of four (2 adults and 2 large teens) rented this condo for five nights in July

2011 while we were in town visiting family. It is very clean and in a great central

Portland location. The beds are nicely firm and comfortable. Also, both beds were made

up with duvet covers, which I much prefer over the I-wonder-if-this-has-this-ever-beenwashed blankets. The condo was surprisingly quiet, even though it is the first floor of a

multi-family unit. It is not as if the 2nd floor was vacant; I could hear people walking

around, but their footsteps were very quiet. The benefits of an older building, I suppose.

We were able to park directly in front of the condo, on the street, no problem. The

owner, Tom, was very accessible, even though he lives out of town. There was a small

problem with a leaky faucet, but Tom was right on it and had it fixed the very next day!

Nice location

  • 4 of 5

Great location, the house was very clean although a little bare. Creaky floors and thin walls meant we could hear everything the neighbors were doing. There was not much in the way of toiletries (only a single watered down bottle of shampoo and an old bar of soap). Only one real complaint, the washing machine was full of clothes and filled to the brim with water, so we couldn't do laundry.

We enjoyed our rental very much! Good location, quiet street, lots of room, and verycomgotable.

The property had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. It does need a couple of wine corksscrews since we couldn't get the electric one to work.

The other suggestion to make it perfect would be bathtub strips in the claw foot tub, and put a chain on the plug to bathroom sink so it stays put. A supply of small zip top bags would also be very useful.

Can't beat it at this price!

Very comfortable and affordable house. In a nice and fun district not far from downtown. Cute little shops and food carts in walking distance. Spent Christmas here with my family and the house fit just about our every need. Kitchen had just about everything I needed to cook a traditional Christmas dinner. Beds were clean and comfortable and bathroom linen was fresh. Parking on the street was never an issue for all 3 cars. The owner even granted us an extra night stay at the last minute because we weren't ready to leave Portland. It could use a little upgrade with the living room decor; couch, throw pillows and rugs had staines. There's also not a lot of comfy places for a family to relax in living room together, there was only one couch and a few plastic chairs. There was no internet either which was really inconvenient ( especially for the teens, it almost crippled them 😉򒐩 However, we just walked to a cute little coffee house around the corner called Tiny's and used theirs as we drank the most amazing coffee ever. We would definitely rent this house again!

Owner's Response: I am glad you had a Merry Christmas in Portland and were able too extend your stay. We must had a miscommunication about Internet WiFi access, which I sent you with the door code. I have now added it to the listing details and am also looking into adding additional bandwidth. Internet is a requirement these days and I would have been restless as well. Next time I am in Portland I will update the decor and add additional seating per your recommendations.

A gem!

  • 5 of 5

We have an wonderful time staying at Thomas' place in Portland. The apartment is beautiful with tons of old school charm. We traveled with our two toddlers and we stoked to find all of the kids/ baby utensils and plates/cups in the cupboards. Little things like this are often overlooked, be appreciated it tremendously; it is amazing how the littlest things can make the biggest difference. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed sipping local beer on the front steps while people watching. Thomas was very easy to get ahold of and thorough with his details. On street parking was never an issue for us. I can't wait to stay here again next time we are in Portland. I didn't want to leave!
