I absolutely love Portland and all that it has to offer. I recently relocated to be closer to family and wanted to keep my condo in Portland so I can visit, as well as allow friends, family, and guests to experience Portland.
Owner/Manager purchased this condo in 2003
My family of four (2 adults and 2 large teens) rented this condo for five nights in July
2011 while we were in town visiting family. It is very clean and in a great central
Portland location. The beds are nicely firm and comfortable. Also, both beds were made
up with duvet covers, which I much prefer over the I-wonder-if-this-has-this-ever-beenwashed blankets. The condo was surprisingly quiet, even though it is the first floor of a
multi-family unit. It is not as if the 2nd floor was vacant; I could hear people walking
around, but their footsteps were very quiet. The benefits of an older building, I suppose.
We were able to park directly in front of the condo, on the street, no problem. The
owner, Tom, was very accessible, even though he lives out of town. There was a small
problem with a leaky faucet, but Tom was right on it and had it fixed the very next day!
Great place! Close to everything and had a ton of room. Perfect for our weekend trip!
Very comfortable and affordable house. In a nice and fun district not far from downtown. Cute little shops and food carts in walking distance. Spent Christmas here with my family and the house fit just about our every need. Kitchen had just about everything I needed to cook a traditional Christmas dinner. Beds were clean and comfortable and bathroom linen was fresh. Parking on the street was never an issue for all 3 cars. The owner even granted us an extra night stay at the last minute because we weren't ready to leave Portland. It could use a little upgrade with the living room decor; couch, throw pillows and rugs had staines. There's also not a lot of comfy places for a family to relax in living room together, there was only one couch and a few plastic chairs. There was no internet either which was really inconvenient ( especially for the teens, it almost crippled them 😉 However, we just walked to a cute little coffee house around the corner called Tiny's and used theirs as we drank the most amazing coffee ever. We would definitely rent this house again!
We have an wonderful time staying at Thomas' place in Portland. The apartment is beautiful with tons of old school charm. We traveled with our two toddlers and we stoked to find all of the kids/ baby utensils and plates/cups in the cupboards. Little things like this are often overlooked, be appreciated it tremendously; it is amazing how the littlest things can make the biggest difference. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed sipping local beer on the front steps while people watching. Thomas was very easy to get ahold of and thorough with his details. On street parking was never an issue for us. I can't wait to stay here again next time we are in Portland. I didn't want to leave!
This home was old (in a really cool charming way, full of character) roomy, comfortable and clean. The owner was very responsive to all my silly questions. I especially appreciated his patience as this was the first time we've used VRBO. He was super accommodating when I needed extra help at the end of our stay. As mentioned in the other reviews...the house is older and does creak. But it only adds to the charm. It didn't impact our stay negatively at all. We slept well and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Our first night in we had dinner at the food carts around the corner and watched a movie. It was such a treat for our entire family. We also used the biketown bikes that are like .25 miles away: Can't wait to return. The highlight of this house is location, location, location!
My husband and I looked for a two bedroom VRBO since our son was joining us from San Francisco and this was THE perfect venue. It allowed us plenty of room and space, but was cozy and warm at the same time. We loved sitting out on the front deck all times of the day. Tom could not have been nicer or more accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the fact that he had bikes available for his renters, with all of the accessories AND a really convenient place to park them. The neighborhood could not be more perfect.....we rode our bikes easily all over, even across the bridges into downtown Portland. Tom does a great job with his property and we look forward to staying with him again!
One year later we returned to Portland. We loved Tom's place the first time around so I reached out to him and the place was just as good as we remembered. The location can't be beat. Great coffee, great food, and great places to explore nearby. It's such a convenient location to access all that Portland has to offer. If we're back next year, you can be sure we'll be staying here again!
