Tigmi Mzine is a completely renovated, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in the heart of the medina.
There is a spacious double bedroom with en-suite on the ground floor.
A double and a twin on the second floor with a shared bathroom. On the second floor there is a lovely sunny open-plan living area with living-dining room and kitchen all in one. There is a log fireplace for cold winter nights, satellite TV, and a fully equipped kitchen (but no oven).
On the top floor there is the delightful, south-facing terrace, with a wind and rain protected seating area, great views and total privacy. The terrace is wonderful for having meals, sun-downers, relaxing and of course sunbathing.
The house is located in one of the many small winding lanes 400 mts from Bab Marrakech just off one of the main streets in the medina.
Shops, restaurants, cafes, the souks, the beach and parking are all minutes from the house.
Whether you are two or six Tigmi Mzine is the perfect home-from-home from which to enjoy and savour the wonders and delights of the medina of Essaouira.
I live in the medina, so will always be on hand should you need me.
Why Essaouira!!! Because it is fascinating, friendly and beautiful.
I love living here. There is always something new to understand and experience.
I built Tigmi Mzine from scratch and love it! I gave it a simple design to make the most of the available space. You will be surprised how spacious and airy it feels, as the space has been really well utilized.
It is very functional, yet cozy and comfortable, making for a brilliant holiday home.
The terrace is south facing so there is plenty of sun - sometimes too much!! The seating area is great in this windy, damp town, allowing you to sit up on the terrace most evenings
The house is very centrally situated in the medina, but still only 400 mts from one of the main entrance into the medina making it easy to get to your car or the bus, and the beach.
Stunning house with an absolutely gorgeous roof terrace perfect for meals, relaxing and generally chilling out with amazing views. The house is wonderfully decorated - lots of attention to detail and an elegant Morrocan style. We slept well every night - it's nice and quiet. Allison gave us lots of great tips - places to visit, eat etc. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic little house in the heart of the medina, which is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We loved using the terrace for breakfast in the mornings, and drinks in the evening.
Having the use of our own kitchen was great, beds were big and comfy and the lounge was spacious. Alli was more than hospitable, she met us on arrival and showed us around the house. Alli is a lovely woman, with lots of advice and tips on the local area (good eating places and where to shop)
Great value for money and I would definitely stay again!!
We spent 5 nights in this beautiful and cozy house. The living room and the roof terrace are just like in a dream, beautiful light and great views any time of the day. The house is quiet thanks to double windows and you will sleep very well. In the morning you can fetch the breakfast and fresh orange juice from the souk (market) nearby. Allison who responded to our reservation request very quickly, gives you also a lot of good tips to make your stay perfect!
We (parents, 3 children from 6 to 9 and grand-mother) spent a really wonderful time in this originally renovated (re-built) house, full of light and cosy corners. Lovers of moroccan furniture and crafts will be delighted! And Allison can tell you exactly in which corner of the medina you can find all the nice pieces you can see in her house, as well as good restaurants, leisure activities, car rental, ideas on prices (as everything is bargaining in the souk and shops),...Our favourite place in the house was the roof terrace (close to heaven), where you could pass your life just relaxing, listening to the seagulls, the muezzin or even the churchbells on Sunday and from where you can get an insight into moroccan neighbourhood courtyard living (as it is one of the highest -as well as nicest- roofs in the surroundings). Once you get out of the house, you are in the middle of moroccan life, fortunately not the too touristic part of it, and very quickly close to everything you need: groceries, seaside, wine shop :-)
Allison is a very nice and helpful landlord and her house reflects her personality: no showing off, although you discover an Ali Baba cave once you get to know it/her.
We all just loved these 11 days in Essaouira.
