The main home has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, while the additional guest cottage (not attached to the home) is efficiency style with 1 full bed, 1 twin bed and a 1/2 bath with an outside shower. The property is cottage style with central air conditioning, a fully equip kitchen with dishwasher, washer dryer, deck with furniture and 6 person hot tub, and has a large yard fenced from the road that is ideal for family gatherings. The home is walking distance to the Point Judith Lighthouse, the beach, surfing areas, a fishing pier, boat launch for kayaks, canoes, jet skis, etc. Within a minutes drive are many restaurants, ice cream shops, seafood stops and nightlife.
We have lived in the area all of our lives and bought Ocean Rd as our first house. We were married at the beach across the street from the home and had our wedding reception for 160 in the yard, a lobster bake of course! We lived in the cottage until we outgrew it, and our 4 children now enjoy selling lemonade in between weekly rentals in the driveway where it all began.
Chuck and Emily purchased this house in 2004
The home is near the beach and also close to all amenities. Ideal.
Location, location location.
We loved, loved, loved your house. It is a perfect location. The yard was perfect for the children. We didn't wander too far away from the area. The lighthouse is wonderful place to seat and read and look at the ocean. I loved going up on the lookout (fisherman's memorial) at sunrise.. We played on the beach across the street and also a little ways down where my daughter-in-law's sister had rented. Got to Galliee, Roger Wheeler State park, the farmer's market, that cute working farm. Ate lots of delicious seafood and ice cream. The one rainy day we had, we went to Mystic Aquariaum (which unfortunately looks a little tired).
The home is set a few houses away from the Point Judith Lighthouse and is set on a large yard, fenced from the road. Whether you choose to soak in the hot tub on the deck and read, comb the beach which sits right near the home or enjoy local attractions such as mini golf, Block Island, local museums and farmer's markets, go charter fishing, take surfing lessons, rent bicycles, historic Newport, or visit nearby casinos...this is a great spot for a couples or family vacation alike. As a life long resident, I am happy to help you plan your vacation.
