The apartment was nice, although the spiral stairs up to the bedroom were scary. We left our suitcase downstairs on the couch, as there was no way to get it up to the bedroom (and no place to put it if we could). There were no extra amenities like soap or shampoo in the shower, although I'm not sure that is even done in Europe as we've come to expect in the US. The apartment was dark with not much natural light. Now that I've gotten the complaints out of the way, the apartment was very clean and located on a street near a plaza on one end and plenty of cafes on the other end. The location was pretty centrally located, with only a 10 minute walk to the Duomo and train station and 20 minutes to the Ufizi Gallery. Another plus-we were met at the train station and escorted (on foot) to the apartment and not knowing the city, this definitely was a nice benefit.
perfect location near everything . Love the food market close by .Very clean exactly watch the picture show. Thank you to Fabricio we a joy our stay at The gold suite .we will come back again .
Great location, with a short walk to many sites in Florence. Food available--eating out or cooking--from Mercato Centrale and many other restaurants just around the block. We stayed at this apartment for four nights and will definitely recommend it to our friends and stay there again ourselves. The apartment was comfortable, furnished very nicely just like in the photos, and everything we used worked. Located on a narrow side street which is well lit at night. Make sure you can handle the spiral steps to get to the bedroom--they're steep.
This is a beautiful place, just as it appears in the photos. On the ground floor, it has the advantage as having no stairways to climb. That's right. No stairs. So it's a very short trip from the street to your room. This is a rarity in Florence. It is an outstanding apartment, gorgeously appointed with antiques, vaulted ceilings with natural light, and a very well equipped kitchen . Close to the street, there are occasional loud noises early in the morning when garage style steel doors are being opened, but it must be pointed out that the street is otherwise virtually silent, as it is a residential pedestrian walkway. Considering how close this place is to all the action in Florence (it is just steps away from the Medici Chapel, and the central marketplace), it is very private and quiet. There was a problem with the hot water when I arrived, but the owner resolved that for me. As seen in the photos, there is a spiral staircase to the upstairs bed. It is a bit precarious to take those stairs in the middle of the night, so I recommend leaving the bathroom light on at night, so you are not groping around in the dark. All in all, this was truly exceptional place which I would strongly recommend. When I return to Florence, I would definitely want to stay there again.
This would be a great location for city lovers. It's central, clean and features a great washing machine. It is well equipped with most necessities. The daily Market around the corner is an amazing resource for authentic Tucsan food.
The unit is on the ground floor and natural light is rare. There is a fair amount of noise from the roll-up doors in the alley used to store all the local stores Leather goods. For some reason these doors sound like a shopping cart being thrown down a flight of stairs.
My sister and I stayed at Fabrizio's apartment for 2 nights in September. The apartment is full of character with many of his lovely decorations in place. It is also in a GREAT location, we were able to easily walk everywhere we wanted to visit. There is a nice restaurant, an awesome gelato place and a small grocery on the corner nearby.
Fabrizio met us at the bus station and took us to the apartment which was VERY helpful.
I would definitely recommend staying here!
