About Erin Schaible
Lance and I live and work in Virginia but come to the beach as much as we can. We have 3 kids who love coming down here to hang out at the beach and visit their grandparents. We all enjoy boating and fishing and the kids love to skim board and just hang out at the beach.
Erin Schaible purchased this Condo in 1999
Why Erin Schaible chose Bethany Beach
We choose Bethany because the kid's grandparents moved here and we wanted the kids to be able to come down and visit their grandparents as much as possible. We choose our condo in Tower shores because of the location and proximity to the beach. We fell in love with the community and have abeen enjoying it for over 20 years.
What makes this Condo unique
The best benefit is the private beach and how close it is! Our beach never gets as crowded as the public beaches and it is very clean. The community is also nicely maintained and has a small community feel which we love.

Great location - nice beach stay
The kitchen has been completely updated and is wonderfully supplied for a beach rental. The porch is great, functioning as an al fresco living and eating area. The only other place to eat is at the very small kitchen counter so only holds 4 people, tightly. The bunk bed in the second bedroom may be meant for children apparently and the upper bunk is very difficult for an average adult to get into safely. Lower bunk, no problem.
Bathroom is older and the cleaning required some touch ups by us before it met comfort levels. Overall, very nice place for groups of 4 or fewer. Location outstanding.
Great place to stay with the family.
We had a wonderful time over the weekend. The apartment is super close to the beach and with lots of friendly neighbors. Great community vibe! Can't wait to return!
Not our cup of tea
This area was recommended by many friends but it didn’t meet our expectations. Bethany Beach is a little beach town with the usual beach shop offerings of candy shops and some restaurants and mostly cheap crap. One store sold some nicer clothing and shoes including Patagonia but that was it. I don’t go on vacation for shopping though. The restaurants left a lot to be desired with 2 exceptions: Bethany Blues BBQ was out of this world and the Penguin diner is great for gluten free breakfast options.
We rent a condo every year so we can have space to hang out and relax as well as a place to cook instead of spending lots on restaurants. The “Green Dolphin” left a lot to be desired. The master bedroom’s bed was exceedingly uncomfortable. I woke up every morning with a back and neck ache which promptly went away after one night at home in my own bed. The rooms are TINY. The kids loved the bunk bed but the ladder arrangement made no sense and it was hard for even the kids to get in and out of the top bunk. The bathroom needs updating especially the tub that is stained. The curtain rod fell down at least twice. There is no where to put anything in the bathroom on the sink and no place to put a curling iron or hairdryer. Thankfully I had a caddy for our toiletries or they would have had no where to sit when not being used. The living room area was ok. The kitchen was fine but there are only stools around a counter for eating and the stools get in the way of being able to walk freely from the kitchen through the living area although they did add some space to put things off the floor. The owner was quick to respond when the K-cup coffee machine wasn’t working. The porch is nice but no privacy. Everything is open on the porches so if your neighbor is out you are basically hanging out with them and can hear everything below you as well as across the street and down the block! It was like camping in that respect and I don’t like camping. There is nothing in walking distance other than one restaurant that was just ok and fairly pricey. You definitely need to drive to get to anything else.
The listing says it fits up to 6 people but I think that would be torture in this small space! We had 2 adults and 2 kids and it was cramped despite being fairly minimal travelers. I think the photos are slightly deceptive of the size. For the price I wouldn’t rent here again but we also didn’t like the area so that’s a moot point. I paid half for 4x the space in VA!
Great, relaxing stay
Enjoyed our stay immensely. Family friendly neighborhood, beautiful beach and great home. The outdoor space was our favorite- comfy outdoor couch to relax on after our little one went to bed.
Third year and love it!
This was our third year staying at this property. We love how close it is to the beach and it has everything we need for a wonderful vacation!
