Hans purchased this house in 2005
We traveled through here by motorhome and liked the beautiful, natural, quiet forgotten coast. We first purchased a small home then built this home in 2005 as our primary residence. Family matters required us to put this beautiful house on the rental market.
Watching dolphins, cranes, birds, pelicans and mullet jump. The sunrise and sunsets here are so beautiful and peaceful. Also, fishing off our private dock, boating, kayaking, spending the day at Dog Island are very nice benefits of this home and area. The boat launch at Lanark is only one minute away.
Thank you Hans for sharing your lovely home with us. We stayed here for our anniversary and brought our 21' Carolina skiff to fish. The home had a great dock and literally only feet from the launch!! We had such a great time fishing and enjoying the views!! We loved the non tourist town and the friendly atmosphere of the locals!! We plan on coming back for two weeks next year!!!! Definitely out new anniversary get away!!
This was our third year of staying here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hans is always very helpful and courteous. He has a very clean and well maintained rental. We highly recommend the property-Hope that we can stay there again.
Property : accommodation were excellent . Dock on the water accepted a boat tie up which was critical as this was a fishing vacation. Even though we missed "prime" fishing time we limited out each day. The access to beach is non existent but a rental boat provided what we wanted. The lay out of the home and the view was superb and Hans keeps it in top notch condition.
We stayed in Dolphin Watch II to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Needless to say, we have celebrated a lot of anniversaries, and taken a lot of vacations, but this vacation was one of the best, if not THE best one ever. The unit was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. Despite the fact that our arrival was delayed twice by traffic delays, Hans was there to meet us and show us around. The view was everything promised in the description. Every picture came out great, and we enjoyed another beautiful sunrise every day. We loved going over to "Bird Island" in the kayaks we brought with us. We saw horseshoe and hermit crabs, every shore and sea bird we could name, sea turtles, a manta ray, and dolphins. If you love nature and peace and quiet, you will love this place. If you need attractions and entertainment, this is not for you. We plan to go back next year. Florida's "Forgotten Coast" is a place we want to remember forever!
If you are looking for clean, comfortable place to catch fish that is definitely off the beaten path, this is the place. We enjoyed our stay even though the weather did not cooperate and March is not the best fishing month. Plenty of local attractions within easy driving distance. The best places we found to eat were on St George Island and in Apalachicola rather than Carrabelle. Caught lots of 12-14 inch sea trout from the pier. Keepers have to be 15 inches:-(.
For the third year in a row, we've stayed at this lovely home by the sea and enjoyed everything about it. This time my husband and I took my brother-in-law and 7 year old niece. We all had a great time fishing on the pier at the house and enjoying the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
There are so many things to do nearby. The best new development since last year is a new restaurant called The Pearl a couple of doors down and across Hwy 98. Excellent food and service. We all discovered that we love Sheepshead! Ask Hans how and where to catch them yourself!
Also, we rented a boat for a day. Next time we will try to rent one the whole time we are there! The waters between the coast and barrier islands and reefs are shallow, but that doesn't deter all the dolphins we encountered while we were on the boat! Priceless experience! We saw dolphins and other marine life near the house as well.
We can't wait to go back! Thank you again, Hans, for such a wonderful vacation in your beautiful home!
