Playa Del Paraiso is a newer constructed high-rise near down town San Felipe, next to the Marina. Watch the boats come in by day and the city lights by night. The operational light house can be seen from both bedrooms and the living room. The property is guard gated, there is a pool, spa, clubhouse, weight room and friendly neighbors. Building 1 is complete and fully functional, where our unit is. Building 2 is under construction, noise is very minimal. There is free parking on the premises, under the watchful eye of the guards.
Something is always going on down on the Melachon, always a good place to start. There are ATV rentals available for about $25.00/hr, Dune Buggy rentals for about $35.00/hr. On the Malachon, you can catch the banana boat for a spin on the water ($7.00 per person), or a fishing boat if you so desire. Half day fishing is approximately $45 per person with full day fishing in Puertecitos for $125 per day, per person. Occasionally someone will come out on the beach with horses you can ride along the beach, always a lot of fun. The pineapple and coconut drink trucks typically come in the afternoon.
If you travel south, you can visit the Giant Cactus (approximately $10.00 per car). If you do go, make sure you have 4 wheel drive .
There are hot springs in Puertecitos if you drive south from Playa Del Paraiso, go left at the airport road and continue along the two (2) lane highway for about 50-60 minutes, watching your speed due to dips in the road. Keep going until you come to the split in the road, (about 50 miles from the condo) you can’t miss it. Go left at the split in the road, turn left at the first gate pass the Pemex station, drive up to the first house on the right & stop. A nice man or woman will come out to collect $15.00 US or pesos. Follow the signs to the “hot springs”. You will pass picnic tables along the way, keep going the signs will lead you to the parking area. Come about 1-2 hours after high tide. The pools are natural; there is a slight smell of sulfur.
San Felipe is a fun, relaxing place to visit!!! We would love to have you stay with us!
We are not in town, but close enough to be there within minutes to enjoy the nightlife, shopping and restaurants.
The 7th floor condo has the best view anyone could ask for! The home is clean and complete with amenities for a perfect vacation. The swimming pool is fantastic and beach is beautiful. San Felipe has plenty of grocery stores so you can cook your own meal and plenty of restaurants so you can enjoy a meal out. A meal in the city for two cost less than $10! A drive south along the coast is beautiful . . . . with stops along the way. Don't hesitate to run out to the water or photograph the Mexican art.
Wonderful condo!!! , it was beautiful and had all the essentials that are needed for a perfect stay
This was our 3rd time staying at Rich and Glenda's unit in Playa del Paraiso. The drive down is easy. Other than a detour in Mexicali, we had 0 incidents getting down there from San Diego. The building itself and grounds are well kept. The unit is on the 7th floor and there are 2 different elevators that service the unit. The property has security guards at the front gate 24/7 and they keep busy keeping ATVs and unauthorized folks off the property. This year they instituted a wrist band policy so they can quickly identify who is authorized. The guards at the front gate look for this wrist band and will ask you to replace it if ever missing. So all that is fine.
The unit itself is well appointed, with everything needed, even beach towels. There are some books, DVDs and a flat screen TV in the living area currently with DISH network. The wi-fi provided by downstairs management worked surprisingly well for us this time. The signal is strongest at the front desk (bottom floor pool area) but we were still able to re-establish connectivity even from the room on our devices. The curtains in the 2 bedrooms do a fine job at keeping the strong morning light out however in one bedroom they were out of order upon our arrival. I'm certain that will be fixed as Rich and Glenda keep the place in good shape. We could have stayed there for weeks, very chill. There is a reverse-osmosis water filter tank under the sink that worked well for us. Although the room is not serviced by maids, when we were out of toilet tissue or just about anything, the property managers downstairs work to replace whatever is needed. Will definitely return again and again!
We loved the place. Only issue we had was the water was giving off a very very strong sulfur smell which would make the whole condo smell. This needs to be fixed.
As soon as you walk in the door, you know you have made the right choice on a condo in San Felipe. The view of the harbor and town off the rear patio from this 7th floor condo is super. This is a well equipped condo, the beds were very comfortable, nice bathrooms, the elevators were clean and ran smoothly. There was a guard at the entrance and parking right next to the elevator. There were a few negative things, there was no WIFI in the rooms, the office person said it is only available near the office on the ground floor. The Hot Tub was not filled so was inoperable. The remote controls for the TV and Satellite did not fully operate because of weak batteries, the office did not have fresh batteries. However these things do not change my 5 star rating for this place.
The 2 bedroom unit was beautiful and very spacious. The balcony was huge and overlooked the water. The view was amazing. The unit had everything we needed except extra toilet paper and paper towels, so bring some if you can. You are pretty much on your own here, but we liked that. The pool was pretty small and very cold. However, we had it to ourselves most days so it wasn't a big deal. The one disappointment was how muddy the water is. This was our first trip to San Felipe and were somewhat surprised by the tide fluctuation. However, I think they pump muddy water from the marina into the area in front of the condo building causing it to be more muddy than it would be otherwise. All in all, great stay and, again, the accommodations exceeded our expectations. I felt very safe and the security guards were on top of it. Best place we ate was on the Malecon called La Mirena. Excellent coconut margaritas and mango shrimp.
