Beautiful, quaint, newly remodeled home located steps from the ocean at Diamond Head.

Complete remodel finished December 2013.

Perfect location to explore the island from. You can enter the ocean each morning just a few steps away for a surf or swim. Tong's surf break is right at this access.

If you'd like to lay at the will find Kaimana Beach a fabulous place to swim and hang out in the sand just a 3-5 minute walk.

If you are craving the action of Waikiki, 15-20 minutes walking along the ocean-side sidewalk puts you back into Waikiki for all the dining, shops and nightlife you could ask for.

Just steps from Waikiki Elks Lodge and the Outrigger Club!

Each of the 2 upstairs bedroom have a queen size bed and air conditioning.

Full bath with shower on the second floor.

Second full bath located off kitchen as you enter from your day in the ocean or at the beach.

#3 - Hibiscus - on street parking on the mountain side - free 24 hours a day

#4 - Kiele - on street parking on the mountain side - free 24 hours a day

#5 - Kalakaua Avenue - in front of house on ocean side - free 24 hours a day

Our paradise in Waikiki! Idyllic!!!

Actually the date of our arrival was October 28, 2014 .., the online calendar will not let me go back that far .... We stayed until November 20 ... It was our 40th wedding anniversary! We are very familiar with the island of Oahu. I attended Leilehua High School from 1968-1972 ... Our daughter was married at Kona village on the big island in 2005 ... We have spent many vacations in Hawaii ... Our second home...we always try to find authentic Hawaiian hale's. We have stayed at the John walker beach house in Lanikai, a beautiful Tudor home on black point road, a beachfront home on the north shore ... Many years ago this Gold Coast Home was for sale ... It would have been my dream come true to purchase this home...when I saw that it was for rent this is exactly where I wanted to be...even though you get a peek a boo view of the lovely waters of the pacific, every morning you are greeted with the fabulous diamond head crater!

You are a few minutes stroll from Kalakaua...there is nothing to compare with this adorable cottage ... We loved getting Leonard's bakery pastry to go along with our morning Kona coffee... We actually saw a filming of Hawaii 50 right outside the hale!

Strolling up and around diamond head is so convenient ... Even though the parking space is so tiny we made it work quite well! It was very nice to have a car to travel around the island to the north shore, the Pali, Kailua, Wahiawa, alamoana, wards shopping, ko olina, Haleiwa, just anywhere we wanted to of all was having a hale to come home to where we lived like the locals for a few weeks out of our lives ... Perfect location

Just got back home from our Oahu visit last night. Gold Coast Home was a true delight. It is very unique - on a small dead end street which has 6 houses on it. They were all built in the early 30's and are well preserved. Lots of people stop when walking by just to have a look - the little quaint neighborhood is so appealing to many. The house has 2 bedrooms plus an additional sleeping space off the living room. It is extremely comfortable and very well decorated in a beachy style. There is nice air flow and there is AC if you insist. I couldn't stop taking pictures - the house is a 5 minute walk down to Kaimana beach which is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The house is maybe 20 minute stroll into Waikiki beach proper. We walked it every day - went in for shopping and some meals. The Honolulu Marathon was held on Sunday - 30,000 runners converge from all over the world. The area is festive - you see surfers and swimmers and tourists and parades yet you are far enough away when you rent the cottage to have peace and quiet.

A beautiful, unique property!

I found the listing description to be accurate and current. The home was very clean with comfortable furniture and excellent beds. The air conditioners did a great job during our July stay which had particularly high heat & humidity during much of the week. The only 2 items keeping it from a 5 star rating were the first floor shower and the parking spot being even tighter than described. Michele's (one of the best restaurants on the island) is less than a 10 minute walk. Clearly not just another cookie cutter condo. Enjoy! J.P. Kelso, Minnesota

A perfect family vacation home with character!

The Gold Coast Cottage is a superb place to stay for a family vacation to Waikiki. The location is ideal - away from the hustle and bustle of main Waikiki but close enough so it is easy to get to. Beaches, both surfing and swimming are within walking distance.

The cottage has some quirks that may put some people off, for example, the really compact car park that requires some practice to get right. If you've got a large rental vehicle find an alternative place to stay as there is next to no chance to park on the street.

The cottage has been very nicely decorated so that it has the modern appliances but still the character of the original home.

Relaxing cozy home in a great and quiet location

We actually stayed here in July of 2014. We loved that its far enough away from the big crowds of Waikiki, but still close enough to walk down there during the day/evenings. The house itself is very charming and cozy. All the modern amenities, but still able to feel like you're 'getting away from it all'. Perfect balance for a relaxing vacation.
