Loved being able to swim each day without having to drive ... But inexperienced swimmers may enjoy Sharks Cove which is nearby . Traffic noise from street was a bit loud at times - but no noise from neighbours. The BBQ was nice but the kitchen did not have oven or stove - we cooked on a one burner appliance . Bob was a wonderful host and gave helpful information . We enjoyed a relaxing stay here !

Amazing Property

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our stay on the North Shore July 5- 11th so much we didn't want to leave. One of the biggest reasons we enjoyed it so much was our stay at Bob and JoJean's property. It was everything I had seen in the pictures and more. The property was so clean and plenty of room for us. The king size bed was so comfortable. I appreciated the gift of coffee and candy when we open the door and found that on the table along with a very nice welcome note. There were plenty of towels and washcloths too! I am glad we had the washer and dryer to use as well. I couldn't wait to run down stairs to look at the beach. The view is so amazing as you are right on the beach. I couldn't wait to have my morning coffee out at the table over looking the water. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The sound of the ocean and the breeze just put you in a calm state. It was nice being able to have Bob give us information on the area and give us the use of beach chairs, snorkel and noodles. The location of the house is perfect. Sharks Cove which is a great snorkel area is only a couple of miles and across the street are all the food trucks that are always there with a good variety to choose from. Also right next door is the Foodland grocery store that has a great deli and hot food counter. Ted's Bakery is the other direction only a few miles away that serves great food and wonderful pies. One of our favorite places to go was Waimea Bay Beach Park. Only a 5 min drive. This is a great beach the water is so beautiful and calm. You will need to go there early to find parking as they fill up by 9:00am, if you go later you can park across the street but they charge you.. Hale'iwa is a really nice town that offers so many places to eat and shop. One of our favorite places to eat was Haleiwa Joe's Seafood and Grill. If no traffic it takes about 15 minutes or a little longer. A few other great things to do while on the North Shore, North Shore Shark Adventures, Kualoa Ranch, Waimea Falls and we toured around Turtle Bay Resort. Honolulu is about and hour drive so taking a day trip to visit Pearl Harbor or Waikiki (Diamond Head) would be nice.

I would recommend this fabulous place to stay to everyone wanting a vacation of a lifetime.

Thanks for everything Bob and JoJean!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bob's beach house!! The beach was amazing and the accommodations were great! It was nice to be able to look out the window at such an amazing view of the ocean. It's a great location--close to Ted's bakery, Foodland, Waimea Bay, and Haleiwa. Bob and Jo Jean weren't there during our stay, but their house sitters were amazing and so fun to interact with at the end of a busy day of sightseeing! They even suggested beaches and places that we would have never found on our own. They were the sweetest ladies and so helpful!!! Bob had all kind of beach towels, coolers, snorkel gear, and body boards that he was generous to let us use. We would definitely stay here if we visit Oahu again and hopefully get to meet Bob and Jo Jean. You can't go wrong staying at this place!!! I would recommend it to anyone..

Hidden Gem!

  • 5 of 5

This rental exceeded expectations, even though our expectations were already high based on the great reviews. The location can't be beat - it's such a pleasure to have the beach only steps from the door. The photos don't do the views justice - you can watch the surf across the roofline, while BBQing on the small deck, eating at the kitchen table, or making coffee. The unit itself feels very private and quiet despite being above the garage of Bob and Jo Jean's house, and was much larger than we expected. And Bob and Jo Jean were lovely hosts - we felt very lucky to share a little piece of their paradise. We'd love to visit again!

Great location, very nice unit and great owners.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 8 nights and had a fantastic time. The location can not be better if you want to stay in North Shore. You can sit in the garden and look at whales and surfers then take the 7 or 8 steps down the stair to Ehukai beach/Banzai pipeline.

The unit was bigger then we thought and was very clean an had all the equipment you need. We were three persons and had plenty of room. The beds were comfortably.

No disturbing sounds and great view over the ocean.

The owners, Bob and Jo Jean are very kind and helpful.

We will try to rent this unit next time we visit North Shore.

Thank you Bob and Jo Jean/ Thomas, Marita and Olivia

This is the bees knees

So glad we took a chance on this property. We had 4 adults using staying this trip and never felt like we were in one another's way. Our only requirement on the North Shore is to stay on the beach. And this was just what the doctor ordered. We had more than average waves for a March and got to watch the surfers daily. Skies were overcast, but we weren't in Washington state, so we were just fine. The property was just as shown and was clean and welcoming for our midnight arrival. They have everything you could need (i.e., towels, chairs, ice chest, sunscreen, etc). Enough drawer space for all our belongings and clothes. Bob and JoJean were great to visit with and hopefully we will see them this summer when they venture to the Pacific NW. We will definitely stay here again when traveling with 4 adults.
