Jasper Lodge Rental Photos and Description

Lodge, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 13)

'The Mountain House', named by our 5 year old grandson, is located a convenient 2 miles from the Big Canoe amenities and provides spacious accommodations with breath taking mountain and valley views. Our 5 bedroom 3 bathroom home has enough space for everyone to gather around the fireplace in the main room or to spread out by the fireplace in the terrace level, the screen porch, decks or other 3 floors.

As you enter the home on the main floor you will find a fully equipped kitchen with walnut cabinets, granite countertops and a double oven. The kitchen is spacious enough for multiple cooks to prepare a holiday meal; but if you prefer a more relaxed meal plan, use the gas grill located on the large deck. You enter the family sized screen porch through the dining area. The porch is the perfect place to rock in the willow rocking chairs while watching your dinner cook on the gas grill. The porch and deck provide long range mountain and valley views. The main level is also the central indoor gathering place to sit on the leather sofas while enjoying the floor to ceiling stone fireplace and rustic beamed ceiling. In the fall and winter months you can cheer for your favorite football team while you watch the game on the 50' flat screen TV. The main floor bedroom is off of the main gathering room and has a king size bed, a 32' flat screen TV and a connecting bath.

Upstairs, the spacious master has it's own bathroom, a king size bed and a 32' flat screen TV. The second floor is also home to the 'Bunk Room'. The 'Bunk Room' has a bunk bed with two full size beds and a single trundle bed. The 'Bunk Room' is suitable for children or adults.

One floor up from the second floor master bedroom and Bunk Room is the Crow's Nest. The Crow's Nest provides the ultimate mountain views and is a quiet getaway for reading, viewing the mountains and valley via the telescope or having a quiet workplace using the built in computer desk. The home is equipped with wireless internet.

The lower level provides another family room with a fireplace, 40' TV, DVD, and sound system. This floor is home to 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom has a king size bed and the other bedroom has 2 full beds and a connecting bathroom. Both bedrooms have 32' flat screen TVs. The downstairs family room has sliding doors leading to a covered porch and another large deck. Keep your eyes open because deer will cross through the side and back yard each day around 2 pm.

The Big Canoe resort area is set in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. The mountain setting boasts of 3 golf courses, tennis, swimming, canoeing, paddle boats, rock slide, hiking and fitness center. There is something to fill every day of your visit or you may choose to just relax on the screened porch or outside decks.

About Joanne Leonard

We purchased this home after owning a smaller log cabin in Big Canoe. We wanted a home that was large enough for our family of 3 children, their spouses and our 4 grandchildren to vacation all at one time. We searched Big Canoe for a year and a half looking for the right house. When we walked through the door of this house we knew we had found our home. Our mountain home sleeps each family comfortably with room to spread out and enjoy the laid back lifestyle that Big Canoe has to offer. We look forward to sharing our home with you and your family.

Joanne Leonard purchased this lodge in 2010

Why Joanne Leonard chose North Georgia Mountains

Big Canoe offers a resort style community that is close to our home in Cumming. Because of it's close proximiity to Atlanta, it is easy for our family to escape to the mountains in a community that has something to offer every age and every interest.

What makes this lodge unique

The tranquil setting in the woods allows us to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature, the wildlife and the fellowship of our family. My favorite part is getting away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We enjoy sitting in the willow rocking chairs on the screened porch and visiting with our children and grandchildren. The home has an open floor plan with a beautiful large kitchen, a spacious dining area, and large living spaces with a rustic mountain decor. The home has 4 floors so there is room for everyone!

We found the lodge to be extremely clean and well organized. It met our expectations and beyond. There were plenty of linens and the kitchen was well equipped. The view was incredible! I would highly recommend it and defiantly would return to this property!

Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

We had a girls only weekend & all decided that we had picked the perfect location. The scenery was breathtaking & it was so quiet, a couple of us even went on a steep hill hike & saw some deer :)

The cabin/house had everything we needed for our stay, the kitchen was so well equipped, the bedrooms were very comfortable & spacious & the bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels & toilet paper ( house of women lol).

Overall we totally enjoyed ourselves at the location & in the cabin/house.

Thank you for making our weekend, one with no issues!

This was our second stay at the Mountain Lodge. We love it! There is plenty of room for everyone. You are truly on top of the mountain and the views are spectacular! The kitchen has everything you need. There is a bathroom on each floor. Decks to enjoy the outdoors. Everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Joanne is a pleasure to work with. We would definitely rent this beautiful home again.

Better Than Advertised!

  • 5 of 5

Joanne -- We absolutely loved your place! It was perfect for our family's getaway. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very well-equipped. We had five adults (me, my wife, my daughters, my son-in-law) and my three granddaughters (two five-year olds and a two year old).

When we first arrived, I assumed we would spend a lot of time in the beautiful family room on the lower level. It is so comfortable and very conducive to watching the Olympics. But then the first night, we all slowly gravitated to the large screened-in porch. And from the part forward, that was where we gathered. We never took advantage of the many televisions and comfy chairs inside, but fell in love with the gentle breezes and wind chimes on the porch.

It is a great four season house! Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

Location, Location, Location......

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed four nights in this wonderful cabin in BIg Canoe and wished it were longer. The cabin is located at the top of one of the peaks, which provides spectacular views from the numerous decks or windows. The driveway was over-sized for parking numerous vehicles and had a covered carport for two large vehicles. The community of Big Canoe has a spectacular marina for boat rentals and also a separate part of the lake offering swimming, water sports, a beach, and a restaurant. Inside the cabin, the kitchen was stocked with every item imaginable. The five bedrooms all had comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and four of the bedrooms had a door to access one of the three connecting bathrooms. The owners of this cabin really made the cabin feel like a home and treated our group extremely fairly from the initial contact for the rental. We hope to return to this cabin sometime in the near future. Don't miss the opportunity to stay at this cabin!
