The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.

Units come with a kitchen, fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, pots/pans, and dishes. The Management office on the first floor is ready to assist you during business hours, and, as many of my residents already know, I am always just a phone call away. A laundry room with coin-operated machines and a gym on the top floor are easily accessible through the three elevators.
There are public metered spots all around the building. If metered parking is not available, there is a nearby parking garage (1 block away) available for a fee. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.

I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 4 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.

The check in and check out process was very easy. The town house location is outstanding! The place could use a few upgrades but overall not a bad place.
Great stay! This condo is amazing to be right downtown and walking distance to Beale. Myself and 7 other guys slept here comfortably. Two of the rooms have two queen beds. They originally gave us a different one but they corrected it immediately and we were set to go. Shelby at the desk had a warm smile and friendly personality which goes a long way with me. It's HUGE! It has a door on the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor! It is old, however if you can appreciate an older building that is being restored than this is your place. We walked to Beale, the FedEx Forum, and other venues with no problem. Caught the Memphis vs OKC game. As always be vigilant in any downtown area, in any city in the country. Also, for what you spend, it comes out to being cheaper than what you would spend on a separate hotels in the area and your group gets to be together. Adequate linens were provided also. Beds were comfy and everyone said they slept great. It's truly "Home Away"! You Can't Go Wrong!
This place was a honest to goodness dump! Cold and damp. Furniture broken. Bedding sketchy and dirty. Kitchen had little to work with. Laundry room upstairs in main building. Saw a sleeping bag and toys? This place should not be on the site!!!
While this apartment has a great location and sleeps a lot of people, the accommodations were not as I had expected, based on the photos. The kitchen was poorly stocked, without even the most basic of needs like salt & pepper, oil, or a knife & cutting board. There was a mix & match of cheap silverware and dishes. There wasn't a pitcher or other large vessel for preparing drinks. The appliances were very dated with drawers and shelves falling apart in the fridge, rusty prongs in the dishwasher, and an underpowered garbage disposal. The decor of the apartment was nice, but it was lacking in other places. The parking situation was annoying as well, since we had to pay for parking and walk a block to get to the building.
Beautiful historic building, downtown Memphis, with great views from the 19th floor.
The building is in the process of being remodeled.
Convenient walk to restaurants and Beale street.
The owner was easy to work.
