Relax and unwind in this charming totally renovated 40's style cottage on 7 secluded wooded acres. Stroll the grounds, try a cast or two from the bridge overlooking our peaceful private stocked pond...or take a serene walk through the woods to 3 flowing waterfalls. You might even catch a glimpse of our steathy blue heron.
Luxuriously comfortable furnishings, a wood burning stove, and a nicely appointed kitchen create a welcome retreat to let the cares of everyday life melt away.
Sun or have coffee on the back deck in total privacy with just the squirrels and the songbirds to keep you company. After sunset, star gaze with the one you love or cozy up to the fire pit ...it's all here for you to enjoy!
Pete and I bought the cottage and land that is contiguous to our home and other property in 2007 and did extensive renovations to make it a super comfy and relaxing retreat. Originally planned as over-flow lodging for our family and friends, we realized that the guest house was truly a unique place, that we were blessed to be the stewards of this land and that we wanted to share it with others. And ta-da ...Heron Pointe was established and opened for business in 2009!
Carol Ewing purchased this cottage in 2007
With about 7 1/2 acres of woods, gardens, lawn, wetlands, meadow lands, a huge organic garden open to our guests and the pond, Heron Pointe offers a bio-diverse and super private natural setting that offers luxury, comfort, restorative sanctuary and fun!
The tranquil and beautiful setting set the tone for the entire stay. The warm living room was extremely comfortable and the entire house was well appointed. Upon arrival we were greeted with fresh cut roses, wine on ice and a refrigerator stocked for a continental breakfast. The house was fully stocked with paper products and cleaning supplies for the entire month as well as a garden we were encourage to enjoy. The proprietors were readily available for questions which were few. The location was handy to the Detroit area. A totally delightful experience and if returning to Michigan, I would stay again at Heron Point.
Once again, we found Heron Pointe just what we had hoped for as a place to welcome family and friends. It's just a delightful setting for our Michigan getaway. Spotless, nicely-decorated, and perfectly equipped. Carol went out of her way to see that everything was just right. Of the places we have rented for our Michigan vacation, this was the first we chose to return to and are looking forward to returning next summer.
Our rental by Carol at Heron Pointe was a highlight to our already amazing vacation in Michigan. We were greeted by Carol and welcomed by her and her husband. The house was clean and very well equipped. Carol definitely goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. She had a pack-n-play ready for us with equipment and toys for the kids. The grounds of the house are beautiful and the kids absolutely loved exploring the various activities the house has to offer. Great location near many grocery stores and restaurants. As a frequent user of VRBO, this house was a true gem! Thanks Carol!
Coming from themchicagoland area we were looking for peace and quiet where we could connect with nature and also where we could have access our teenage/young adult children would enjoy. Everything was even more beautiful than expected. Carol has done an amazing job of thinking of everything. She truly treats her guests like family. We loved the back deck lounging, fishing in the pond and using the paddle boat. We saw lots of little creatures that added to the beauty. This place is and these hosts are a special treasure!
I rented Heron Pointe for part of April and the month of May. I am a small business owner and rented Heron Pointe for my men instead of them staying in a motel for a long period of time. The men were very pleased with the accomodations, one even said "they thought of everything." Carol even went out of here way to buy a very nice blow up mattress for one of the men, that was greatly appreciated. After a long day at work it was very nice to sit on the back deck and just unwind without having everyone on top of each other. Thank You so much for letting my men stay at your beautiful place, most people wouldn't do that with there being 4 working men. You took them in with know problem and made them feel very welcomed!!!! Thank-You!!!!!!
We rented Heron Pointe for our daughter and her family to stay near us for the Holidays. It was just perfect! The home really has everything you would need. Very clean, Comfortable bedrooms, a relaxing living room.
The owner even had coffee and brunch there for the next morning!
There are several great restaurants in the area as well as shopping.
Beautiful home. We'll definitely rent Heron Pointe in the future.
