Fabulous Property

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay. We had 4 couples and 1 bride to be and there was room for everyone. The backyard is like a resort. We even had our rehearsal dinner out there. Definitely pay to have the pool heated. The owners were quick to respond to all of my questions. It is nice that there are 2 thermostats, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. There are only 3 things that could have made it better. 1. Have more hand towels! There were only 3 for 9 people, also there were no dish cloths in the kitchen to wipe down the counters, only 2 raggedy towels. 2. Provide Kleenex boxes in the bathrooms. 3. Have a MUCH larger trashcan in the kitchen, the one in there is not suitable at all. I would return in a heartbeat and would recommend this house to anybody.

Bad Experience!

  • 1 of 5

We rented this property with two very close families as our combined Disneyland Vacation. We started off by not being able to get into the house because the manager was cooking fish and couldn't respond to our texts. There was damaged and cabinetry and broken statuary that made us feel like the photography was not quite current. The futon in the back living room did not latch up as a couch on one side. We paid for pool heat but in the 5 days we were there it never seemed to warm up. The kids braved the pool, but that was a complete waste of money for us. We broke a window while there and owned up to that. But it seemed to open up the gates for other items that we were blamed for that WE DID NOT DAMAGE. Two shutters which she charged us over $300 for. There were photographs of many fine poke marks on two shutters. We feel this was caused before our arrival and not noticed until the window on that wall was damaged. The back of the broken futon certainly could have caused this. A bed pillow was torn up and shoved into the pillow case. She also said we tore up a decorative pillow and caused a mark on the kitchen table, but she was kind enough not to charge us more for that. If these items were so important to be claimed as part of our deposit, then I would expect them to be repaired - not left SHABBY for the next renter.

Bad experience and VBRO told us to work it out with the manager.

Owner's Response: I respectfully deny every point of this guests complaint If ultimately they were unable to control their 8 children its there own fault. After I received the photos of the damages sent from the cleaning service, I, myself went to the house to investigate the findings of the cleaning service before notifying the guests of the problem. Bridget had asked me to please come back to run my finger around the back of the futon, even though I had carefully investigated but I did come back and did as she asked me to do. There was no staple sticking out from the futon and the height of the futon is below the shutters line to cause the damage, and after I received the complaint, I went back to the house again to double check and took more photos and all the photos were sent to customer support as evidence. Customer support found me blameless and the case was closed without us having fund the damage deposit. After I notified them of the excessive damages which occurred during their stay, then they asked if they could at that point purchase additional insurance, which of course would be impossible and fraudulent. It was after they realized they were unable to get after the fact insurance that they filed a losing complaint with customer support and when they lost that wrote a negative review. If they didn't think they did the damage why ask if they can purchase the insurance? The guest never complained about the pool not being heated during there stay and it was unfortunate that they arrived during a very rare cold and rainy period in Southern California. Also, in all my over 5 years experience in renting we have never had a damage claim. All the damages were found by the professional cleaning staff which reports back to me after each guests stay and has never reported any major damages Again, with my 5 houses I have rented through HomeAway over the last 5 years, I have never charged anyone for damages. To summarize the damages caused by these 16 guests were damages to the shutter, broken window, big dent on dining table and shredded decorative pillow. The deposit was not enough to cover the cost for the damages.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

This property is everything its described to be! The home was clean, plenty of space. All the beds were comfortable. Everything you need is available in the home. The back yard / pool was very relaxing. Pay the extra for heated pool and spa. The owner is very pleasant and easy to work with. Deposits refunded right away. If you want a fantastic stay close to disney, this is your spot. Great value for the money.

Terrific Rental!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to find the house very clean and well maintained. We came to Disneyland for a 1 week family Christmas vacation...6 adults and 5 children ranging in ages 8-15. The house was perfect and the photos that you see in the listing are accurate. We had more room than we needed to not be on top of each other. All of the grandkids to find their own space as could the adults when needed. The backyard pool area is beautiful. We paid to have a little extra heat added to the pool and it was very inexpensive and well worth it. The location of the house is perfect if Disneyland is your game plan. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the parking lot at Disneyland and also 5 minutes to Stater Bros., Target, Walmart etc.

Sarah was terrific in responding very quickly with any questions we had and I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone. Our family vacation would have been very different had we rented hotel rooms instead of all being together in this very comfortable house.

Totally Terrific!!

  • 5 of 5

This house was fantastic! We did a family vacation to Disneyland for a week over the Christmas break and the house was perfect. There was 11 in our group - 6 adults and 5 children ranging in ages 8-15 years and everyone had lots of room to have their own space. The pool and backyard were terrific. We paid the extra to have the pool heated and it was well worth it and not an expensive thing to do. We loved that there was so much room in the house that we could all find space to breath after a long day at Disneyland. The vacation would have not been as terrific if we all headed back to hotel rooms at the end of the day. The cousins could hang out together while the adults did the same. The location was perfect...5-10 minutes to Disneyland by car depending on traffic and 5 minutes to Stater Bros. Target, Walmart, Rite Aid etc. Sarah was very quick to respond to any questions we had and I would not hesitate for a swcond to recommend this rental...I hope we can do it again in the future. Thank you Sarah for making your house available to us.

First time vacation home rental - Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

The photos don't lie, the pool really is as lovely as it looks. We were a group of 6 - our girls (then 3 and 7), us and my parents. Having a large bedroom on the main floor is great if someone in your group doesn't do stairs well. The house is a little older but has undergone some really nice upgrades. Granite countertops and new appliances made meal prep fun...not to mention the huge bbq area outside. We stayed for a week and had grand plans to check out the nearby beaches when not visiting Disneyland....but we never made it to the beach because it was just too relaxing to stay at our own private pool!

The owners responded quickly and when we said it was our first vacation home rental, they said we would never go back to a hotel...and here I am looking for vacation rentals for our next trip!

Checking in and out was very easy - the locks are coded so you don't worry about collecting keys. Our damage deposit was returned promptly too.

Couple of practical points - not complaints, but things to know to get the best experience:

- disney parks, restaurants, groceries...are all a short drive away, but I don't think you would be wanting to walk/bus. You need a car.

- the pool is gated and if you wanted you could even put a lock on the gate if you were worried about your kids sneaking in.

- I might be concerned about bringing a toddler or pre-walker...all of the floors up and down are stone/tile. The plus is that they are cleaner, the minus is that it could be a little hard to crawl/fall on.

- non-skid flip flops would be a good idea...kids needing to use the bathroom often don't have time to dry off completely...those stone floors are very slippery with bare feet.

- find out when the pool man comes - it's great knowing the pool is well maintained, but a bit inconvenient if you have to stay out of the water for an hour or more right at the time you head home for a refreshing dip. Days are listed in the "welcome" book, check that, or check in advance

- bit of a trade off with beauty and practicality, my mom wouldn't use the hot tub because there is no handle/railing to use to step in and out. Probably not a concern to most.

- ask about recycling - we probably threw too much in the garbage because we weren't sure what got recycled and what didn't.

If going back to Anaheim I would return here in a heartbeat.
