My home is a one bedroom apartment in what I consider to be the best pat of town - West Austin/Enfield area. This area is home to some of the oldest, most beautiful and historic properties in Austin. Walk a block north and your amongst mansions, tree lined streets and beautiful landscaping. All hardwood floors, one queen size bed. Large kitchen space with gas stove and everything you could need. I am a holistic nutritionist and chef so am pretty well supplied with good utensils/tools/blenders, etc. I don't keep much furniture in the living space as I recently moved and am keeping my open space for my daily yoga and mediation practice. I am minimalist and like to keep the apartment clean and simple. However, there is a desk, printer, wifi, and iPod dock with satellite radio. And plenty of books on yoga/self study, etc. No television or microwave.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this area and was tops on my list of places to live when I first moved to Austin. You are a stone's throw to multiple restaurants (Cipollina, Jeffrey's, Galaxy Cafe,Zocalo, Justine's) coffee shops (one of the best in town in my opinion - Cafe Medici) and stores (Fresh Plus). Clarke's, Z Tejas, Sweetish Hill Bakery, Josie's, and Winflo are also within walking distance. A little further but definitely still walkable is the flagship Whole Foods store, home to its headquarter offices. Not to mention lululemon, REI, Anthropologist, two great health clubs and much more right outside your front door. Easy access to the Greenbelt, Lake Austin and Shoal Creek trails. ACL fans - you can WALK or ride a bike to Zilker Park! Deep Eddy and Barton Springs pool, all easily accessible by foot or bike. I feel my apartment as old world charm in the middle of modern conveniences. There is no place I'd rather be in Austin.
Stayed here during Austin City Limits Festival. Was a nice, easy walk to Zilker Park through some very neat neighborhoods. The apartment feels very open and relaxing and has all the necessities. The owner was very accommodating, making sure that we had everything that we needed and even wrote up a guide for us, including restaurants etc. around the area. Would definitely recommend this as a place for a relaxing weekend in Austin.
