Our house is perfect for people who love relax and culture, cities of art, hiking and sports in general, eating good and drink wine! Plus Pistoia is the ITALIAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2017!
Our house is a wonderful place to stay in, and also an ideal basis to discover all the Tuscany. 1st floor consists of a huge dining room and a kitchen with fireplace. 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms, a living room, 2 baths. Perfect for couple, senior and for family. (you can rent 1 room only and have the house all for you, no other guests).
In summer our village is famous for the climate (fresh and sunny), the wonderful landscape and summer festivals and events. Florence and Lucca are easy reachable also by train from Pistoia. Garden to relax, play and make barbeque, private parking. If you are a FAMILY, children under 10, free of charge.
We are both journalist and in our 40s. We love our family, seaside, travelling and having guest, reading and rollerskating. Enjoy our house and genuin Tuscany's lifestile!
Chiara T. purchased this villa in 2000
We bought this house in this place because it represents the perfect balance between culture and nature, relax and adventure, visiting touristic attractions and visiting undiscovered fantastic place in Tuscany
Here you could really find the true Tuscany's lifestile! In summer our village is famous for the climate (fresh and sunny), the wonderful landscape and summer festivals and events. You could visit cities of art like the famous Florence, Pisa and Lucca but also discover hidden gems like Pistoia (italian capital of culture 2017!) and its surrounding.
The house was very traditional with a lot of character and ambience. The garden was well maintained and we enjoyed alfresco dining there. The local cafe bar provided excellent food and drink. the village proved an ideal base for travelling around for cultural and culinary pursuits! We very much enjoyed our stay in the house and the village.
We went as a group of 5 women, 2 older (70's), 2 younger (20's & early 30's) and me in the middle at 50 and we had so much room in this house it was fantastic. The 4 bathrooms were perfect so that no one ever had to wait, we had plenty of hot water and on a couple of those days we walked 10 miles, the tub was marvelous at the end of a long day. The only issue we had was my mother falling in one of the bathrooms since there is a step down from where the toilet is located to the sink (and that is the case in 2 of the 4 bathrooms). We rented a car and backing out of the driveway can be challenging since it's such a narrow street and a dip down at the end, and kitchen is what I would call adequate, although we never cooked any meals while we were there. The most we used it for was the refrigerator (which is very nice) and the stove to heat some pizza up.
WE LOVED Bar Margarita in the mornings for great coffee and sandwiches to start our day and the pizza place close by was pretty good too, but they do not speak much English so we ended up with cold pizza that needed to be heated up. Overall, I would absolutely stay in this villa again on my next trip to Tuscany since I did love the fact it was 10 minutes down the mountain to Pistoia where we took the train for our longer day trip into Rome and when we arrived, we came from Venice and took the train into Florence where we picked up our car. We drove to Cinque Terre, Florence, Lucca, Volterra and although it took a little getting used to the circles everywhere, had few issues on that point. I enjoyed driving through Tuscany. On our trip to Cinque Terre, we drove to La Spezia and took to the train to Monterosso, and then hiked to Vernazza from there, one of my most memorable points of the entire trip. It's breathtaking to see. And last but not least is Chiara, she was very attentive and was easy to communicate with while we were there, although not having someone who spoke English greet us was a little challenging! We understood that her daughter's birthday definitely was more important.
I think this villa could easily fit several couples looking to travel together, plus some children with them and it would be quite easy. Comfortable beds, pillows not so much, but a good price for the beauty and size of the home. It's decorated nicely and very comfortable. Thanks for a beautiful home base for our amazing trip to Italy!
Two families, including 4 teenagers, used this lovely and large home for a base for a week in Tuscany. The road up to Piastre is fairly long and windy, but it always felt like coming home when we arrived. We all slept comfortably and soundly in the peaceful quiet of this small town. We enjoyed the Amalfi restaurant down the street. There are many different areas in the house for people to gather, or to find a quiet corner. There was room for two average size cars to park. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped and spacious for cooking. The home was even nicer than the description. All in all, a very lovely place to stay.
We had a lovely family together in this beautiful and cosy house end of last year. The village is a typical Italian village up in the hills with bar, grocery and pizza place and represents the perfect starting point to discover the nearby cities like Pistoia (actually a little hidden gem), Florence, Lucca etc. plus the amazing Pistoian mountains that offer everything form hiking, skiing, riding etc. The house itself is well equipped with whatever you need to cater for a big family, huge open fire place in the kitchen, a nice little garden and everything you need to make yourself at home.
Un week end all'insegna del relax e del divertimento..appartamento veramente carino e acessoriato con un camino in cucina da sfruttare, ci ritorneremo. .
Relax, art and culture are here. Pistoia city of art (only 9 Km) guarantees an authentic Italian experience, you are unlikely to hear much English spoken or to come across coach-loads of tourists.
Pistoia caters to all tastes and offers modern art museums, trekking and cycling in the surrounding countryside and mountains, a lively street market, works of art by the likes of Giovanni Pisano and Giovanni Della Robbia, a fascinating underground itinerary, medieval processions and jousting in the summer, the most important Blues Festival in Europe and even a well-kept zoo. Tuscany attractions are easy reachable by car.
Our house is in a traditional ancient village where you can find anything you need (groceries, bars, pizza take away, ice cream, bank, post office, church, playground, restaurant ecc.).
