Why Owner / Property Manager chose Belgium

I used to stay in this appartment when I was in the college, and I have got a lot of good memories related to it. it is probably the sphere in it which makes you simply feel good. Moreover, I have furnished it to be a confortable flat, accoroding what I was needing at the meantime. That is why it has a lot of small solutions which makes your life really confortable there

What makes this apartment unique

The appartment is situated just a few stops from the city center. You can park your car in the underground garage, which spares you the need to circulate around busy streets of Brussels, looking for a parkign place. It has a very quick connection with the motorway leading towards the seaside and other towns worth visiting such as Brugge, Gent, Knokke.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We are sorry for not writing a review of our stay at your apartment as we only got home from our holiday in mid August and it would not let me write a review.

We had a wonderful time in Belgium and enjoyed your home immensely. It was located in very nice neighborhood, with convenient restaurants, groceries, and shopping within walking distances. The apartment itself was comfortable, well furnished, and very modern with all the necessary conveniences needed in good condition. It was very safe and had wonderful free parking and only 15/20 minutes from the airport. I would highly recommend it for any fellow Americans. Please feel free to use this review in your future VRBO ads.

Lovely and spacious.

Lovely apartment with garage close to Basilica and city center by car. Ms. Agnieska met us. Kitchen was adequate, could use sharp knives and apartment could use more linens. Lovely time over the Christmas holidays. Thank you.

The owner was very helpful and the apartment comfortable.

Good location if using a hire car and not wanting to drive in the CBD.

Good place to stay especially if car &/or kids

  • 4 of 5

We parked our car and left in the garage while there. The tram is right outside your door (not noisy) -- you can catch that or walk to metro. There is a playground right across the street, Elizabeth Park is just a few blocks down the road right after the largest church I have ever seen (Balisique) . Owner emailed us a lot of info about the area including directions but she sent it 2 days before our arrival. We were already traveling by then and did not see this until we got back home. Suggest she send that when reservation is confirmed. Internet was good. We got a tourist map at the Grand Place which really helped -- we had a hard time figuring out metro stops --- our guide book was not helpful with that. Buy ticket for metro from machine at the stop -- ticket is also good for tram and bus -- we got an all day pass. Need a chip and pin for your credit card to work in machine so we used our ATM card since that is all we had to meet that criteria. Apartment was clean, well maintained, quiet, and felt safe. Lots of dishes and things to cook in, but strangely no water glasses or decent sized cups. Coffee machine and electric kettle for tea. Full size fridge/freezer. No condiments (salt, pepper, etc). Shower is a tub with hand-held shower nozzle. There is a washing machine and line to dry clothes in bathroom. Phone allows calls in but nothing to let you call out. Bedrooms are small and a bit crowded with stuff, but bed was comfortable in the master -- bedside lamps too short for reading and did not work -- didn't use the second bedroom except for luggage. Be aware that in Brussels names of things are in Flemish or French or both so this can be very confusing. The metro stop names don't mean much so if you can get the metro stop names for places you want to visit and take that with you to Brussels, you will be ahead of the game. We took a Garmin GPS with European maps loaded. Had an extra battery charger with us so we could use this hand held for walking -- battery runs down fast. GPS was essential for driving and really helped overall. Overall we were happy with the apartment and our visit.

Owner's Response: Hello, I am happy to hear that you are safe back home. Thank you for so an extensive review. Important point you mention is 'the welcome email' with all the information about the place, sightseeing and transfers being send just before the arrival. As this information is constantly available in the system, I do not know why it is automatically sent via homeaway system just before the arrival. It might be for security reasons, but I still will check with them, whether we can do something in order to get these information to tourists more in advance. The idea of getting copies of metro map en the town map left in the apartment is also a good one and I will implement this for future guests. The lamps in the bedroom are working now and there is extra salt and pepper in the kitchen ( :-) ). Regards

Very comfortable--the full package

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is a real gem--it has everything you could need: the place itself is cozy, full of light (corner unit), furnished with everything you would need in evey room. It has a garage which is priceless in Brussels, it's half a mile from the tunnel that takes you straight downtown in minutes, and it's across from a nice park with a great playground for kids of all ages. The owner is extremely nice (even offered to do groceries for us upon arrival). The entire experience from booking to checkout was excellent. Highly recommend.

Owner's Response: I am happy to hear that you had a good time in Brussels. I did not know that the playground near the house was a real fun for children, so I can say that you made me discover my own district! It will be a pleasure to host you back in Brussels!

Excellent choice for 1-3 people.

This is a wonderful apartment with great parking and security. Everything was spotlessly clean and it was very stylish and comfortable.

The owner went out of her way to make me welcome, as she greeted me personally at 8.00pm on a Sunday evening.

I would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Brussels.

Excellent, spacious, comfortable, convenient

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with HomeAway and it was excellent. The apartment is spacious with many conveniences. Much better than a hotel room. It has a full kitchen with dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. It has a compact clothes washer/dryer. There is a wifi internet connection. The second bedroom was perfect for our niece. TV has hundreds of channels, including a number of English language channels. Agnieszka, the owner, was very helpful. Her English is superb and way better than my French. To get around Brussels, take the #19 tram east from the stop named Valida to Simonis/Elisabeth Metro station. Note that Simonis and Elisabeth are co-located, so it is easy to get on a train going the wrong way. Valida is only half a block from the apartment. I suggest downloading the PDF metro map to plan your excursions at The #19 tram also goes all the way to the Atomium (Centenaire). If you do laundry, another helpful document to download is the instructions for the washing machine. Google the manufacturer and model number. There are many restaurants and small markets nearby if you want to cook. The Chinese carry-out place across the street was very good. There is a larger Carrefour market about four blocks west, an easy walk or one stop west on the 19 tram. The apartment has a garage if you come by car. We used public transportation and did not need the garage. There is a small park right across the street with playground equipment for kids. If we return to Brussels, I would definitely like to stay at this apartment again.

Owner's Response: Hosting people in own appartments is a great pleasure once you have the travellers like you. I can now understand why the idea of B&B is so popular because you can meet the people from around the world and get to know them and their story. I was really happy to meet you, hope that you come again with your family to visit Brussels
