About The Owner

I was a professional in the TV industry for over 30 years and retired. I flipped houses in the Venice / Marina neighborhoods when real estate was booming. Now I work part time managing properties for TV / Film Production, and I am a volunteer for the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1999

Why The Owner chose Venice

Although this is a new listing on this site, I have had this property in the short term rental marker for about 2 years and have had 70% occupancy. I live upstairs so I am available if there is a problem or if you have any questions about the neighborhood and or Los Angeles.

What makes this apartment unique

This One bedroom Unit is situated on the Venice Canal just south of Venice Pier. This way you are in quite, safe, Marina del Rey but only a short walk to all the craziness of Venice Beach & Famous Venice Boardwalk.

Lovely but much more

You can easily see from the pictures that the property is beautiful inside. The outdoor space is great---the squirrels are most entertaining. But the best thing about this property is that Ray has thought of absolutely everything. Whether it's in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or cleaning supply closet, there is nothing you need to go out and buy other than food, drink and souvenirs!

Great space - perfect for small family

Had a great time at Ray's property. Incredibly easy to access, parking spot was more than appreciated. Very close to the beach and a very, very quick walk to a variety of places in Venice Beach for food, drinks, dessert, etc. Kitchen was great - had everything we needed. Modern, clean and enjoyable. Thanks so much.

Awesome stay at Venice Beach

My husband and I spent four nights in this apartment, which is at the ground floor level of the owner's home upstairs, in a nice residential area of Venice Beach. We enjoyed this unit the most of any of our VRBO/ Homeaway stays, and we have been in at least six other units across the U.S. and even in Paris. The owner, Ray, is very nice and immediately responsive to messages. The apartment is totally modern and comfortable in every way. This kitchen is very high end and spacious. The LR is large and has a large screen fantastic Toshiba TV. There is a completely private patio in the back, as you can see in the pictures. The street is quiet with very sparse traffic. There is a dedicated parking spot. The walk to Venice Pier is just a few blocks, lined with restaurants and shops. From there you can walk or bike along the beach on wide pavements all the way to the main part of Venice Beach and even all the way to Santa Monica. There are two bicycle rental shops on the way to Venice Pier. The unit is also easy walking distance to a main street in Venice Beach called Abbott-Kinney Boulevard, which is many blocks long, leading to the beach, lined with many restaurants and high end boutiques. Two convenience stores are very close to the unit with an adequate selection of packaged and frozen foods (rather expensive). The closest grocery is 1.2 miles away, a very nice Ralph's. A shuttle van from one of the main tour bus companies of LA sights (Starline Tours) picks you up and returns you to the Inn at Venice hotel, very close to the unit. Last but not least, the main areas of Marina Del Ray (the official address of the unit), are a short drive away, and very worth seeing. Review by Margie in Baltimore, Maryland.

Great place to stay

Wonderful apartment. Very clean and spacious. Had a great set up, and all the amenities you'd want from a hotel. Location is also perfect for hitting the beach, venice boardwalk, and bars/ restaurants on Washington Blvd. Comfortable backyard is another bonus! Highly recommend. Ray is also super helpful and responsive.

Excellent value

This is a very nice place to stay. Ray is extremely responsive. Although there is no view from this first floor apartment, the location is fantastic - walk to the beach and all that Venice Beach has to offer. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable, safe, and well appointed. Although we did not do any cooking in our short stay, the kitchen appeared to have everything you’d need to fix a nice meal. Off street parking is a major plus. I highly recommend this one bedroom apartment for any visit to Marina del Rey, Venice Beach, or the LA area in general.
