Tranquil 1bd In Central Location!

Bedrooms 1
Property type condo

About the property

*I can only accept reservations for 30 days or longer.

The things guests love about my condo are: the tranquil nature, with trees out every window, the proximity to CU, walking paths, and more, and the pools! This place may not be for you if you don't like stairs, its a 3 floor walk up (although its more like 2 floors, no second floor), and if you are very sensitive to noise. 90% of the time it is very peaceful & quiet as I have wonderful, respectful neighbors, but it is also a condo complex with people living in close proximity.

A lovely little hideaway in Central Boulder, close to grocery stores, restaurants, CU and beautiful walking paths.

This is a quiet/private 3rd floor 1 bedroom/1 bath condo, with views of greenery out all the windows. Beautifully updated with nice open kitchen, with spacious floor plan. 52" HDtv and DVD player (no cable, but Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon TV, Pandora ready). Wifi throughout.

Bedroom comes complete with a plush pillow top full bed that comfortably sleeps 2, plus a fold down day bed, which sleeps 1 (although it is not the most comfortable for sleep, best for lounging/reading). It has a nice large desk as well, which is great for any student or business traveler.

I also have a double air mattress for 2 more that can easily be set up in the living room.

Each room (living room & bedroom), has its own heating/ac units. The Heat/AC is controlled by the building, on an unannounced date each year (most likely based on a careful analysis of the weather), the HOA changes the central system from Heat to Cooling or vice versa. Colorado weather is unpredictable in the Spring/Fall so I have provided a fan and extra blankets if you end up having one warm night where it is still giving heat or a cool one with cool air (this is rare).

Condominium complex comes complete with access to 3 outdoor pools (seasonal), tennis courts, relaxing gazebo, BBQ areas, and a sand volleyball court.

This wonderful condo is 4 blocks to CU, 5 blocks to 29th Street Mall (Restaurants, Shopping, Movies, Yoga, and more!), & 3 blocks from the lush Scott Carpenter Park & the famously beautiful Boulder Creek Path. 30min walk to Downtown & bustling Pearl Street, or a 10-15min bike ride. Daily bicycle rentals are available all over town.

Parking is first come first serve and unlimited on Madison or there is guest parking within the complex. Easy and abundant.

Skiing/Snowboarding in Winter is also easily accessible. Eldora Mountain is only 20 miles from here and there is a bus that leaves from Downtown every 1.5 hrs.

Easy to use bus lines pick up right at the corner of the complex. Condo is close to everything, but is still amazingly quiet.

Please, no smoking in the apartment.

Coin Washer/Dryers on the premise.

You have the apartment to yourself. You are welcome to use all condiments, spices, and teas. There is a lockbox on the door with the key, for easy access.

No one will meet you as you are able to let yourself in with the lockbox key; allowing 24hr access. Easy!

*Lost Pool Key = $25

Close to lots! Smack between two grocery stores, less than 5 mins away. Also 5 mins away is the 29th Street Mall with Shops, Restaurants, a Movie Theater, Coffee, Yoga and more! Off of beautiful walking/bike paths. Easy, direct access to CU.

The Bound bus picks up just a block away on 30th/Colorado and there is a direct bus up to CU on Colorado. Also Uber and Lyft are plentiful.

I have lived here for over 5 years, so I can provide a wealth of knowledge about the area and the amazing things to do in town.

About owner/manager

Hi! I'm originally from Maui, Hawaii, but have been living in and loving Boulder, CO for 5 years. I am a Real Estate Investor & Vacation Rental Property Manager who teaches clients how to find good investments for rentals. I love traveling and meeting travelers. I think hosting people is an incredible way to live vicariously through their adventures in between my own. I was a tour guide around the US, so I can be a great reference if you're on or planning a road trip. I even recently started my own travel company for small groups: Wild and Free Adventure Travel

The owner was super nice. air conditioning pretty much didn't work so uncomfortable.

  • 1 of 5

Again the owner was great, the apartment was clean, but lack of air conditioning & parking made it challenging.

Owner's Response: This review is completely unfair. Guest did not mention an issue with the AC and there is no issue with parking as there are 10 guest spots directly behind the building which I've never seen full and unlimited street parking. The following guest mentioned that the ac was blowing cool but not cold and we got it repaired that day.

Just ok

  • 2 of 5

Overall apartment was ok, but nothing special. Started when we placed some items on the dining table and came back to those bags covered in baby spiders. After disinfecting the table and surrounding area, pretty sure we killed them all, it was fine. Had the impression the towels weren't cleaned, maybe they were, but definitely not crisp and nice looking and they appeared like they were there a while. Last thing was that we found out that there's no air conditioning, or it doesn't work. Either way, not ideal when it's 85 degrees out, and definitely not ideal when you have flannel sheets to sleep on. We basically slept in the apartment (as much as we could) and that was it.

Owner's Response: I am very surprised to see this review. I have not ever seen spiders there but I wish you would have personally mentioned it so that I could have helped you with it. The towels were definitely clean and were not there long as we have new guests every couple of days if not daily in warmer months. There were also a plentiful amount of clean alternate towels in the closet as well as other sheets in the drawer if you have mentioned it. The AC does work but it comes through a shared building system that is heat part of the year and cooling the other part of year. Unfortunately we have no control over that and the HOA changes it at their discretion based on weather which sometimes has a few days of overlap. I do have a fan in there and if you trap in the cool morning air and close the blinds when you leave, it doesn't get very warm. The latest guests said the AC is on for this year. I'm sorry to hear about your inconveniences and yet, I wish you would have mentioned it so I could have accommodated you.

just what we wanted.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was exactly as we wanted. It was close to campus and family, with easy walking to everything we needed.

The directions for the apartment were detailed and helpful.

We would certainly stay here again when visiting Boulder.

Just what I needed.

  • 5 of 5

Just what I needed. I was in town for just a few days visiting my kids at CU. The apartment was close by, neat and clean, and easy to access. The owner was extremely easy to work with. I'll definitely stay there again.

Clean, Complete & Convenient

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was spotless and had all the supplies we needed for our weekend. We were in town for a visit with our daughter, who is a student at CU, and the apartment's location was very convenient to the campus as well as to shopping, restaurants, and other activities we engaged in while we were there. Communication with the owner was easy, clear, and prompt. Although we had been warned about possible limited parking and restrictions, we never had a problem. I would recommend staying here.

Very Disappointed!

  • 1 of 5

I chose this apartment because it was conveniently located near the site where I take classes. When I arrived with groceries in my arms, I opened the refrigerator to find that it hadn't been cleaned! Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the kitchen floor had food scraps on it, and that the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. There was dust on every surface, including furniture, radiators, floor lamps, and modem. The kitchen appliances had not been wiped and the burners of the stove even had food in them. The toaster oven was simply gross! I had to wipe out the refrigerator in order to put my groceries away. When I told the owner/manager about it, she offered to send her cleaner over, but I declined as I thought the job wouldn't be any better. Instead I vacuumed and dusted myself as best I could with the few cleaning supplies and equipment that were there. By the way, I was never thanked for what I did. The kitchen cabinets were messy, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and the bathroom vanity, bathtub and kitchen floor hadn't been scrubbed. There were loads of half-empty bottles of shampoos and other toiletries all around the tub which was proof the bathtub was never cleaned. No areas of the apartment had a fresh clean smell so it was obvious that the cleaners hadn't done her job! After I reported this to the owner/manager, she never even offered me an apology for the state of the apartment. Rather than cause a problem for her, I decided not to write a review at all. Then she wrote a review about me on another website implying that I was too particular! I emailed her and asked her to remove the review, but she said that she couldn't/wouldn't. Instead she continued to refute that her apartment was fine, that I was the problem because I expected a level of cleanliness that only a hotel provides, that I shouldn't expect this level of cleanliness in people's homes! I do not consider this good customer service at all. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone who expects a clean and tidy apartment for their purposes. I'm very disappointed in the way this owner/manager treated me!

Owner's Response: I am very disappointed to see this review. I feel like this guest is slandering us, acting out of a place of anger due to the review I left of him, which I might add was not negative but did note that he was particular as he required my handyman to come out each stay (he stayed with us twice, so it couldn't have been that bad) and complained about the cleanliness each time. Unfortunately, I do believe the housekeeper I was using could have done a better job (I did thank him and waived the cleaning fee) and his comments helped me work with her to achieve this. Although he made some rash and rude comments about her, saying she was just changing the sheets, taking the money and running. He said that I should fire her immediately, but I like to take a more democratic approach and work to develop good people. I hope future guests are able to look past this review and give us a try. We have been providing wonderful stays for years over multiple properties and I am currently working on some new, exciting improvements, like fresh laminate flooring.
