Autumn is a wonderful time to come to the cottage. The lake is surrounded by fall color, and the views are beautiful from the porch, deck, and kayaks. As the nights cool down, it’s the perfect time of year for a campfire, and for enjoying the hot tub overhanging the water and under the stars. Take a walk or a bike ride along the coast, through Mystic, or in the woods such as up Lantern Hill. You can also visit orchards, wineries, Foxwoods entertainment or shopping, or other attractions at

The cottage feels like you are at a cabin up in Maine. It has a rustic feel and it is on a quiet lake where time seems to have been forgotten. It is literally right on the water, as you can see in the pictures. The waterfront cottage has 2 bedrooms with queen beds. It has a spacious living room with a wood stove. The large screened-in porch is a favorite place for meals overlooking the water. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready, just bring your food. There is a gas grill and two outdoor fire pits which also overlook the water.

Kayaks and a canoe are provided for your use at no additional charge. There is also a Huck Finn style raft to sit on or swim from or to untie and float around on. We also have horseshoes, internet, DVD player, basic TV, a few lawn games and indoor games. If you choose, we have a paddleboard rental for just $20, and hot tub rental for $100 or less. (We can not guarantee hot tub availability.) The tub sits over the water and under the stars, or enjoy a campfire with firewood provided at no charge.

The cottage is removed from noise and bustle on the quite, beautiful lake, but it is still just a 10 minute drive from Mystic-- a favorite tourist town, 5 area wineries, the Connecticut Shoreline, and 5 minutes from Foxwoods casino. There is also a small, organic "Earth Friendly Farm" that sells vegetables at the beginning of your street.

About Molly and Bobby

The picture above is of Bobby and his family back in 1976 being children enjoying the lake. His grandparents bought the cottage back in 1955, and now three generations later the cottage is an ever more special place for us, and we very much enjoy our family's vacation each year at the lake. It means a lot to me to hear from guests about good family time and nice quality time for couples.

What makes this cottage unique

Included in the lakeside house are kayaks, canoe, large Huck Finn style raft to swim off of or to explore the lake and the connecting lake. There are two campfire areas and a propane grill, horseshoes, badmitten in the yard. All are included in the price of the cottage. If you bring your fishing rod, the fishing is great. We also allow you to bring your dog along to enjoy the lake. The cottage is great for family activities and for relaxing meals and sunsets.

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay it is very peaceful and rustic. The only negative was not having air conditioning it was very humid and tough to sleep, I believe ceiling fans in the bedrooms would be a great help if air conditioning isn't an opinion. I can say we definitely would go back.

Gorgeous location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for four days but after we saw the cottage we wished that we had booked an entire week. The location and lake view/access is the best on Long Pond. The hot tub was lovely and we took the kayaks out and explored other parts of the lake. The cottage itself is rustic but very well done, tasteful and feels homey. We immediately felt at home there the minute we walked in. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, nice little kitchen, great screened in porch with lots of activities you can do without even leaving the cottage. Bobby and Molly were in touch and easily accessible if needed. We would definitely stay there again.

Something for everyone.

  • 5 of 5

The location of this rental, the cottage itself, and all the accoutrements provided by the owner are guaranteed to please whoever is lucky enough to be staying there. Fishing, water sports, reading, the casinos, Mystic, shopping, wildlife--it is all right there close by for you to choose from, but the location is such that it doesn't interfere one iota with the serenity and peaceful atmosphere that you come to a cottage on a lake to enjoy. If all you want to do is read a book, you can do so in absolute silence with just the swans and herons to keep you company. If you want to fire up the gas grills and cook for the whole family you can, but you can just as easily have a romantic dinner for two with nothing but the lake to provide the backdrop. Bring it all with you, or leave it all're going to enjoy yourself either way.

Perfect get away!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is the best of both worlds!

Great location for privacy and fun in the water and you feel like it's your own slice of heaven.

While, it is just minutes to anything you want to do and see.

There are so many great places to eat ranging from casual, take out or fancy!

This is our second stay and we loved it even more.

The cottage has so many great things to do a week is never enough.

Bob the owner is so kind and accommodating we will be back again maybe in the cold weather to see the pond frozen over!

Couldn't ask for anything better!

Gorgeous Lakefront View

  • 5 of 5

My wife and two friends stayed here over the weekend and very much enjoyed it. There are other comments on here about it being old/outdated. While true, it is well taken care of, clean and charming. The lakefront deck and floating dock were a dream. We took a canoe out into the lake. The surrounding area is quite beautiful. I spoke with Molly on the phone. She was very kind and quite accommodating. I would stay here again.

Wonderful lakeside home!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at this home. We stayed for a week to enjoy Mystic and Foxwoods. The home is a quaint, rustic place to vacation and relax. Sit on the dock in the sun or off in the shaded area. Watch a variety of birds come and go, which our dogs just loved. This is literally the best place to relax, enjoy your family, and have fun.The owner, Bobby, and his crew are just wonderful.
