I wanted to share with you the review that I submitted for Villa Antonio. I am so sorry for the delay. We had a wonderful time and the villa suited our needs just right!
We are two families of 4 with kids ages (7-12). We stayed at Villa Antonio for 9 days at the end of March. We loved it! The villa was spacious enough for all. The kitchen was definitely on the small side but it was well stocked and the open floor plan allowed for the chef to have company. The views from the porch were amazing and the breeze along with the ceiling fans kept the front of the villa very comfortable. We liked the fact that the bedrooms could be closed off in the evening with AC. We spent time at the beach just outside our gates but really enjoyed walking down to the public beach (400 meters) Cerro Gordo where many of the locals hung out and there were life guards on duty. The waves were big enough for the kids to have a blast boogie boarding but not too big so the adults were nervous. There were a handful of local restaurants and bars in walking distance and a small fish market just on the edge of the beach. The nearest grocery store was in Dorado which was about a 10-15 minute drive. The best part about the villa was the location as it made us feel like we were one of the locals.
Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home with us!
The property management is extremely responsive and helpful, answering texts and calls within minutes and always helpful with recommendations and advice- very professional and easy to deal with. The apartment is located in a small town, about 10 minutes from the big resorts, with a park just to the east providing a nice natural buffer and great scenery. We had a couple of maintenance issues that were quickly resolved, and we were treated to a day at the nicest resort nearby to mitigate any inconvenience. The best thing about the property is the location on the beach, which has great swimming and beautiful views. Some nights were noisy with street traffic and music, especially on holidays, but overall we liked being away from the nearby resorts and gated communities that don't have much local feeling.
Stayed at Antonio Villa for about 12 days and it was nice, cozy and beautiful. This was the first time ever that I or my family had ever rented a place and with the experience that we had.....would totally do it again! The best part, the beautiful ocean is just a gate away. My family (sister, brother in law, 2 nephews (8 & 2), mom and two really good family friends) and I stayed there are really enjoyed it. It was quit and relaxing, though we could hear music (salsa music) late at night from what I think was a bar in the corner and cars blasting Reggaeton . But being Latina and from L.A it did not bug me, any of us actually. I just concentrated on the waves crashing, you have the beautiful ocean right there!. We did have a few hicups but Alex and (sorry I can't remember his name) another young man were on it and always attentive. When we got there we were showen were everthing was at, how to lock up, the keys, the green folder with things that were near by. Overall, we all loved this place. It was not to "touristy", it was perfect. Also perfect place to be at to get to other other parts in the island. We would totally stay at Villa Antonio again, when we go back to visit beautiful Puerto Rico.
BTW off 693 there is a great place to eat Pico Rico BBQ
I am always a little apprehensive upon arriving at a home I chose online, because you never know how much you can believe the other reviews. The reviews for this home were great, and I was looking forward to a long weekend with my family on the beach. This home was perfect - the home was as described in the listing, the reviews were accurate, the beach was right outside the door, and we had great time. The home is nicely divided into the bedroom area (4 good size bedrooms, comfortable beds, well air conditioned, 2 clean bathrooms) and the living area (kitchen, large family room, large outdoor patio. The house was clean, well equiped, and had everything we needed. The living area is not air conditioned, but we had great breezes off the ocean, helped along by multiple ceiling fans, and were never uncomfortable. The beach was perfect for us, nice sand, great for sand castles, and the water temperate was perfect; i can't remember the last time I was able to just walk right in to the water without hesitating because of a chill in the water. The beach was essentially ours on Thursday and Friday, and there were only a few other people in the area on Saturday and Sunday. The area was generally quiet (occasional loud cars driving by, but never a real problem - the sound of the waves overshadowed the sound of the cars), and there was a bar at the end of the block that had music going until about 1AM (but not so loud that it interfered with sleep). The general area (Cerro Gordo) is very low-key, but if you wanted nice restaurants you just had to drive 5 minutes over to Dorado. I would highly recommend Villa Antonio for an extended family (we were 1 set of grandparents, our 2 kids/spouses, and our 1 year old grandson) or for groups of 3-4 couples looking for a nice laid-back time on the beach. Enjoy.
