Located on the most beautiful section of Big Bear Lake. No better place on the planet to veg out and get away from it all.
Perfect place to sit all day, daydream and enjoy the most magnificent lake and mountain views in California.
Loved staying here! We rented out the property with some friends for the weekend and had a great time. Listing description and photos are very accurate. The cabin has a nice upgraded kitchen and a lovely master bath--awesome waterfall shower! Joe always responded back quickly and very easy to work with. He was nice enough to allow us to have an early check in and late check out as well. The location is great and has a beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again!
Me, my husband, friends and our dogs had a fabulous little time at Joe's impressive 4-bedroom cabin! Joe was very responsive about any questions we had and his guide/instructions made the stay very clear and enjoyable. It was hard to catch any fish where we were on the lake in the wintertime but it was still memorable in all the ways of fun the house provides. From the fireplace, awesome kitchen and open layout to the beautiful views, jacuzzi and lovely dock -- so many fun times! Thanks for everything Joe!
Just spent 2nd thanksgiving at the property and both visits were equally satisfying. The views are incredible, the location is amazing and the furnishings are comfy. Little things that are awesome: the fireplace, the living room couch, the blankets and pillows, clothing storage, kitchen storage and general homey vibe. The tiny downfalls: cooking a large meal was difficult both years because the oven racks do not fit in the stove. We thought it was a fluke year 1, but year 2 the same. Our trash bags were ripped into both years, this year in our truck bed! So cans would be recommended by the front door. The last concern would be lack of 'swim/hot tub' towels. I brought my own hot tub towels but if there were beach type towels it would have made enjoying the hot tub easier. The owner is incredibly easy to talk to and super helpful. All in all a fantastic rental and experience.
Great place for a family vacation. The place had everything you needed for a great time.
The Lakefront Fisherman's Paradise was fantastic! As other reviewers stated, the pictures online do not do the house (or the views) justice! Seven of us stayed at the house for 5 days and there was plenty of room and nobody felt crowded. The fireplace with the recessed seating area was one of the more popular places in the house during our December stay. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the house was stocked -- everything you need in the kitchen (seriously, everything - coffee pot, blenders, strainers, bottle openers, dishes, cleaning supplies, grilling utensils, pots, pans, trash bags, etc.), plenty of extra blankets and towels, extra propane for the grill, even a snow shovel and bags of salt for the outdoor walk ways. Nice big TV in the living room with premium and music channels and WiFi in the house. The hot tub has to be one of the best private outdoor tubs I have been in and was wonderful to soak in after a day of skiing, although walking from the tub into the house in 10 degree (F) weather is super difficult (the tub is not on the deck, but rather a very short distance from the downstairs door). The grill on the deck was wonderful, and I "think" it even had a rotisserie option. The master bathroom shower was great. Even though there is another older shower/tub upstairs, everyone used the master bathroom shower -- it was much more up-to-date and comfortable (the low ceiling beam at the far end of the upstairs shower may be an issue for taller people). You do have to haul your trash to the city dumpsters about one mile away on the main boulevard. In the winter, there are only two parking spaces and the only place to legally (?) park an extra car overnight was near the village just a few miles away. We did that and our third car was completely fine. The bottom floor bedroom did get cold (it was December), but there was a space heater and extra blankets, so it wasn't too bad for sleeping. The description and the reviews all state that the pool table and foosball table are in rough shape; that is definitely true! Honestly, though, with all the hiking, skiing, and hanging out relaxing in the big living room, none of us actually played on any of the tables so it wasn't really a big deal. Also, Joe, the owner/manager, was super friendly and super accessible via email with any and all questions I had leading up to and during our stay. My family and I cannot wait to go back!
Joel is an awesome owner. We loved our stay at his amazing property which boasts many extras. I am extremely PICKY about our family rentals and now with a baby even more so. Things we loved- WONDERFUL views, great BBQ, fantastic kitchen & equipment, great refrig & ice maker,high-end micro & stove, cookware, plenty of trash bags & detergent, giant TV & Direct TV with ALL the channels, flat screens in upstairs bedrooms, upgraded linens, tons of plush towels, shampoo, soaps & conditioners, washer & dryer with detergent, bleach & stain remover, tons of cleaners & tools if you like to clean like I do. I include all these notes as I'm never sure if I need to bring all this STUFF. Each floor has bathrooms which is so nice. The Master is attached and awesome. The laundry room (main floor) has its own toilet and sink, upstairs bedrooms share a full bath with a tub and basement a toilet and sink. The hot tub runs constantly so you can jump in at anytime of the day or night. Having the turf was really nice for our dog to run on a cable and our baby loved crawling around on the soft surface. The extra parking is so important when you have 4 cars that need to come and go. Walking in the neighborhood is refreshing and beautiful. Walking to town is possible but has a small shoulder on the road. The trash issue is no big deal. What we did was pack our extra items in a Rubbermaid tote then add the daily tall trash bags filled and stored overnight with the lid tight so no animals would tear into the bags. Daily we drove the bags to the dumpster area. Worked GREAT. We spent lots of time on the beautiful dock overlooking the lake having cocktails in the shade of the afternoon watching the boats and fish jump non stop. Swimming & fishing so fun! Every evening meal was eaten at the house. The BBQ is very over-sized and has a great light that signs right on top of the grill. Joel has extra bottles of Propane so you will never run out. The large glass table for dining has windows surrounding it so you have the entire lake to view. Clean up was extra easy with the dishwasher and off to the huge sofa for dessert and TV time. If you go in the winter the fireplace would be unbelievable to sit around! I know Joel has lots of plans for the basement and Master bedroom and I can't wait to go back again. We felt we got every dollar worth for this rental. I hope Joel does post new photos when he finishes. You will LOVE your stay with this thoughtful owner! Thank you Joel:)
