I grew up in Anchorage, AK, but Oregon became my home 13 years ago. I've lived all over Portland & Eugene, but my heart is in Hillsboro. I love how easy it is to access nature, but still enjoy the amenities of a small city with a big city nearby.
I have spent most of my career working in High Tech and am now own a consulting company, specializing in project management and business operations. I compete with my dogs in Agility and Obedience and can often be found visiting my friends with horses in the Hillsboro area.
I have an apartment in the back of the house which I stay in a couple of times a month either visiting friends or for business trips. I have my own entrance and own yard, separate from the main house.
Jerri Gillean purchased this house in 2010
I purchased this home in 2010. It has a unique location on the border of a commercial and residential neighborhood. It has been used as a residence, daycare, and commercial printing business, but it had been badly mistreated. I saw its potential and have been on a fun journey ever since.
I have put my heart and soul into updating the property, refinishing the hardwoods, updating the bathroom & kitchen, painting the walls, updating the electric and plumbing. For my handyman and I, it has been a labor of love.
In 2013, I finished up my personal apartment in the back half of the house with the intent of short term corporate and vacation rentals in the front.
Unlike most vacation rentals, the kitchen is incredibly equipped because when it is not rented, it is my personal kitchen. I love to cook and bake and for family events I can always be found in the kitchen.
The working fireplace adds ambiance and a close friend provides me firewood she cut herself with her partner. Please let me know if you would like some firewood.
The bathroom has heated floors and the house is equipped with a brand new state of the art heat pump with AC. You can program the thermostat to whatever you desire.
I have traveled for work all over the US and always miss the comforts of home. At the Linden Inn, it is my hope that you feel right at home and can enjoy your short or long stay in Hillsboro.
We had a great time, thanks so much for having this house for us to stay while at Top Golf.
Diane and group
This home was perfect for our stay. Our Oregon family hosted Thanksgiving and didn't have room to put up all the family as we arrived. We were able to host a family gathering and attend one. House was well appointed and had everything we needed. Thanks!
We visited the Portland area due to a golf tournament at Pumpkin Ridge. We enjoy staying in Homeaway homes due to the convenience of a kitchen and comforts of home. This home was convenient to all locations in West Portland and was great for our group of two adults and three kids. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was comfortable. It was convenient to shopping. Highly recommend for those with a small group visiting the West Portland / Beaverton area.
The Linden Inn has comfortable accommodations from the fully stocked kitchen, fluffy towels to the comfy beds. The home is equipped with everything a family (ours was large) would need. We enjoyed this home away from home to visit family in the Hillsboro area. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit. Jerri is very good at communicating and is very accommodating. Thank you.
Felt right at home with lots of room and all the essentials you need to be comfortable in this home away from home.
Owner was nice and helpful as well.
The property and location was great. There was ample street parking and the home's location was great, as we attended Pacific University's graduation. When walking into the home, the a/c felt fabulous! Jerri provided great instructions for all aspects of the home, from wifi to the laundry room use. However, both the wifi and television were not initially working during our stay. We contacted Jerri and she immediately fixed the wifi and she also offered to do a three-way call with Dish, however it seemed like a lengthy process. We appreciated that Jerri was proactive in attempting to solve the discrepancy. There is a large backyard with a BBQ that we loved using! Kitchen had ample cookware, plates, and utensils. Overall we had a great stay.
Day to day life in Hillsboro is so simple and easy with all the amenities of both mall and boutique shopping within a 5 minute drive. Whether buying in bulk, buying organic or a trip to the 'regular' grocery store, Hillsboro's relatively light traffic makes it easy to run several errands in just a couple of hours. We have beautiful parks, walking paths, both chain and Zagat rated restaurants. Our award winning professional theatre company is the highlight of our diverse arts program and you can always find a way to be active: rain or shine.
Hillsboro is an excellent spot just outside the city of Portland. 90 minutes to the coast or mountains, easy access to State Parks or a fun night in the city. As the 'Silicon Forest' we take pride in our high tech community anchored by Intel, but also home to Yahoo!, Synopsys, Salesforce and many other high tech companies. Hillsboro also boarders farmlands mixing the best of a rural and high tech lifestyle.
