Overview

About the property

Two Bedroom plus Loft, Three Bath Cabin with Game Rooms and Hot Tub

Pay no cleaning fee at any of our cabins. Whitewater Overlook is ten minutes from town, but you will feel like you are in a remote area, surrounded by huge white pine and hemlock trees, ferns, and rhododendron. The cabin is on a hill directly above Fightingtown Creek, one of Georgia's premier large trout streams, almost as big as a river. You can see and hear the rushing whitewater from all four levels of decks. Take the winding path down the steep hill to the freestanding deck perched out above the creek or stay on the path down to the water's edge to dip your feet in or go fishing. There is also a beautiful year-round mountain view from the upper three decks.

Whitewater Overlook is a large cabin, with over 2000 sq. ft. of finished space and three full bathrooms. It has a pool table, outdoor Jacuzzi-brand hot tub, foosball table, two fireplaces, a hammock, two HDTVs, a dartboard, and a complete poker set-up. The spacious lodge-style interior sleeps up to six. The main level has a large, fully-equipped kitchen, a great room and dining area with a cathedral ceiling and DirecTV satellite/HDTV home theater system, and a master suite with a walk-in closet and double-vanity master bath with tub/shower. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a french door that opens onto the upper deck, which has a porch swing, rocking chairs, and a picnic table. The lower level has ten-foot ceilings throughout and a rec room with pool table, dartboard, fireplace, and DirecTV satellite HDTV. Also on that level is a large bedroom suite with queen bed, walk-in closet, and attached full bathroom with tub/shower. A french door from the rec room leads to the lower deck with a hot tub, hammock, and rocking chairs. The loft has a queen sofa bed, foosball table, poker table, comfortable reading area, and full bathroom with tub/shower. We provide everything for your stay except food and personal items.

Great for outdoor lovers

  • 4 of 5

Area has lots to do outdoors! Cabin is in easy location, beautiful setup inside. I would recommend you not consider the pullout couch an extra bed, just sleep on as a couch for comfort sake. Our first time to the area and once oriented, this was a great location.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed the cabin and hope you will come back. Since your stay, I have replaced the sofa-bed mattress with a very comfortable five-inch thick gel foam mattress. It is a major improvement over the original mattress. John Orr

Great location, wonderful getaway

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 6 loved our stay at this cabin! We had plenty of room to stretch out and loved the easy to get to location, as well as being able to sit on the decks and listen to the rushing river below.

The cabin was very clean and welcoming. The sofa bed linens were a bit worn and the DVD/VHS player only played movies in black and white, which was a bit frustrating. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend the cabin to others.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed our cabin and hope you will come back. We have replaced the worn sheets for the sofa bed. The DVD/VHS player is again playing in color. Someone had pulled a cable out of the back. I am sorry for any inconvenience. Thanks for the feedback. John Orr Owner/Manager

Great cabin for the family

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 stayed here for 5 nights. Plenty of room and things to do to keep us busy at cabin and around town. Some days we used the crockpot to prep meals to have ready when we got back to cabin. Would like to stay here again.

Very nice cabin. Had everything we needed.

  • 4 of 5

Building was very nice. Some of the furniture needed a little fixing. Chairs a little wobbly and we fixed loose door handles. Overall a great place to stay and would enjoy it in the summer when we could set out and listen to the water in the creek below.

Was a very nice cabin.

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was beautiful with a nice view of the mountain tops and creek. We hiked down to the creek which was peaceful. The only think negative I have is that there was not a working canopener , the two stools in the kitchen need some repair. There is a smalll nail that sticks out and snagged a pair of pants and tore them. The chairs in the dinning room need to be adjusted. They are a little loose. Other than that, everything was perfect. Jacuzzi was a great ending to the night after hiking.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed the cabin. I was not aware that the electric can opener was not working, but there was a manual one in one of the drawers. I have put a new electric opener in the kitchen. I have repaired the chairs. I am sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate the feedback. John Orr

Wonderful View! Would Stay Again!

  • 4 of 5

The view was wonderful & the cabin was amazing. I was thankful they had towels, cleaning supplies & all the cookware we needed. The beds were very comfy & two rooms had their own bathrooms which is nice for multiple couples. The hot tub was wonderful and the fireplace calming. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I thought it was 3 bedrooms. Instead it was two bedrooms & a loft with a pull out couch bed which was unfortunate for our 3rd guest. Overall it was wonderful & I would stay again.
