About John Muldoon
My family has always had a home in Chatham. When I was growing up I spent my summers and many weekends throughout the year in Chatham. It has always been my home away from home, my place to connect with family and friends. I am fortunate to carry on this tradition with my wife Ruby and son Liam. We enjoy sharing this wonderful experience with other families to create their own family memories .
John Muldoon purchased this House in 1980
Why John Muldoon chose South Chatham
This location is perfect. Chatham is centrally located on the Cape, it is far enough from the busyness of the village center to relax and enjoy the peace and quite but close enough to all the conveniences Chatham has to offer. Forest Beach is 5 to 10 minute walk at 4/10 of a mile. This natural beach is unique and very private and does not require a parking pass or paid admission unlike the larger busier beaches. There are also several town beaches minutes away to choose from, each with its own personality or even a calm fresh water kettle pond. The beautiful Cape bike trail is only a 5 minute ride. There is even a newly surfaced public tennis court, basketball hoop with kids climbing play area within a 5 minutes walk.
What makes this House unique
Tucked away at the end of a quite dead end lane this home has all the comforts of home and is beautifully landscaped with flower and herb gardens and has a great patio with new commercial infrared stainless steel grill & electric retractable awning to enjoy the best of the outdoors. Inside is bright and an open concept with skylights in the kitchen and in the cathedral ceiling of the sun room. New kitchen with commercial stainless steel Italian 'Verona' stove & beautiful new maple hardwood floors throughout.

Cape Cod Retreat
We had a wonderful stay at John & Ruby's home in August, 2019. It's a peaceful respite at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac away from the hectic summer Cape crowds, beautifully maintained yet convenient both to drive to Chatham, or to walk to the spotless local beach, less than a half mile walk away.
John was there to greet us and show us the home, and was available by phone literally 24/7 to quickly respond to all our needs. We especially loved both the gorgeous master bath shower and the outdoor shower, which is totally open, yet not observable from neighbors as the house is surrounded by trees
Our kids came from NYC w/partners for one weekend and the house was fine with all six of us there, and our little dog enjoyed chasing rabbits in the yard, and daily walks thru the woods and around the neighborhood.
All in all, everyone had a goood time.
So glad you had a great two week stay Roger. We are looking forward to hosting you again in the near future.
Great family getaway!
John was very helpful throughout our stay. The house was perfect for our family of 3 kids- bikes were amazing and cul de sac/neighborhood tennis court for playing! We loved everything about Chatham and the area close to both forest beach and the cape cod bike trail. We spent two weeks and weren’t bored for a minute. Thank you!!
So glad everyone had a great time Lauren. It was a pleasure hosting your family. We hope to be of service again next season.
Family Chatham Vacation Home
Lovely vacation home for a family. Nicely outfitted and designed. Everything is on one floor. Great location to beaches, Chatham center, bike trails, and markets. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
We are so glad that everyone had such a great time Stephanie. Thank you for being such considerate guests. We can't wait to host you again in the near future.
Cute Clean Chatham House On Quiet Street!
John’ family house was perfect for a birthday getaway long weeeked, this mostly modernized house was just the right amount of quiet but close to town, and at most a 10 min walk to a great local beach.
House was well stocked and John was one of the more attentive and proactive owners I have had the pleasure of renting from having used HomeAway a bunch in the past.
We will definitely consider this property again if we stay in this part of the cape👍
So glad everyone had a great time Evan. It was a pleasure hosting your family. We hope to be of service again next season.
Centrally located at the “elbow” of Cape Cod, Chatham is a true Cape gem. Said to be as quaint as Nantucket without the boat ride, enjoy main street and its unique shops, restaurants, theaters and inns. Relax at the scenic beaches perfect for sunning, swimming, boogie-boarding, kayaking, windsurfing, or sailing. If the salt water is not your thing, try one of the calm spring feed glacial kettle ponds which is a great alternative for young kids. Enjoy the public golf. There is a newly surfaced public tennis courses within walking distance. Check out the 26-mile Cape Cod bike trail perfect for both avid cyclists and families. For some unique adventure hop on a water taxi at The Chatham Fish Pier to your private space on secluded South Beach or explore Monomoy Island. Try deep-sea fishing, whale or seal watching, kite boarding, or catch the island ferries to the Vineyard or Nantucket. Kids love the go-carts, bumper boats, skateboard park and miniature golf. In the evenings, enjoy the 81 year old traditional downtown Friday Night Band Concerts in the park or take in a CCBL, Cape Cod Baseball League, Chatham Anglers game at Veterans Field, a play at the outstanding Monomoy summer theater, Like most people, you may find yourself coming back, year after year.
