Loved the Bar Harbor Log Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for us. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor yet we were only a few minutes away. The cabin is well maintained and was exactly as the pictures show. The only suggestion is maybe a fan for the downstairs bedroom. The dehumidifier puts out heat and sometimes made the room stuffy. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again if we visit Bar Harbor again. Watch out for deer. There were deer on our road where we turned off to go to the cabin. Almost every evening when returning to the cabin we encountered one. We ate at Geddy's, Paddy's, Testa's and Jordon Pond House and enjoyed them all. Had ice cream at different places and all were good. We loved Acadia National Park. Had a picnic on the rocks near Sand Beach. We recommend the whale watching cruise. At one time there were 13 whales in sight of our boat. Be sure to dress warm for that one though. Wonderful vacation.

Owner's Response: We are installing a ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom in September, thanks for that suggestion! And very cool that you saw some deer -- maybe they like hanging out near the cabin for the same reasons you did, quiet and less hustle and bustle of the downtown Bar Harbor! :) Come visit again!

Wonderful, comfortable home in a great locaton

  • 5 of 5

This is a terrific house. It is warm and cozy with just the right amount of space and a great location. We never felt far from anywhere on Mt. Desert Island or the bridge to the mainland. It is a very private house surrounded by trees and very quiet. The house would be great for four adults and two children. I think it would be crowded for six adults. There were only two of us so it was very comfortable. It was very well appointed with everything you could need including a lobster pot, some condiments and seasonings. There is a charcoal grill too and everything you could need in the kitchen. (Could add a bigger frying pan and some more lobster crackers.) We hope to return to this house again in the future. BTW - the Hannaford grocery store in Ellsworth, before you cross the bridge to the Island, is the closest large grocery store. They sell beer and wine also. If you have a disability, you have to go 3 steps up into the house but then two bedrooms, a bath, the kitchen, living room and dining room are on one floor. The Master Bedroom and bath are downstairs.

Perfect Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your Meadow Drive Cabin! After a 13+ hour drive from PA, it was wonderful to arrive at such a welcoming place! The cabin was clean, neatly furnished, quiet, and peaceful. The location was very convenient to Bar Harbor and points of interest in Acadia, but was also remote enough to enjoy some privacy and time with our two small dogs. We were also blessed with beautiful and nearly perfect weather for the week!

Thank you for the hassle-free check in and check out. I will be recommending this property to others in the future!

Owner's Response: We're so glad you had a nice time at the cabin, Wendy! You picked a great time of year to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia. And the privacy away from the crowds of downtown during the high season seem to be a big plus for a lot of our visitors at the cabin. You're welcome back anytime -- have a great rest of the summer!

The cabin was great. Close enough to get downtown within 10-15 minutes , yet far enough away to be quiet and alone if you prefer. Everything was provided that you could possibly need to be comfortable! We would DEFINITELY stay again when in the area and recommend ! Thanks for a great stay
