Welcome to your home away from home! This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Summit Hill property is in an owner-occupied two+story side x side true duplex with private/separate entrances. The apartment has two finished floors and it's own basement space with private laundry for your use. You'll love the furnished front screened-in porch, natural woodwork, hardwood floors and the light and bright, elegant rooms. The main floor features a large, comfy living room with a 4K Ultra HD TV, a formal dining room, a stylish half-bath, a butler's pantry and a spacious, updated, eat-in cook's kitchen featuring newer appliances and granite counter tops. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: the spacious master bedroom features a king-sized pillow-top mattress, a large closet, dresser and bedside tables with reading lamps; the second bedroom has a queen-sized-bed pillow-top mattress, a dresser and reading lamps. Also on the second floor is the newly renovated bathroom with a walk-in tile shower with high-end fixtures (dual shower heads: rain and hand-held), a heated tile floor and a wall mounted heated towel rack/radiator. (Stairway chair-lift available if you need a boost to the second floor.) The convenient and bright laundry room is located in the basement with complimentary use of the washer and dryer for our guests. There is ample on-street parking in front of the building. Central air and hot water heat-the best of both worlds.
We are one block from Grand Avenue and two blocks from Summit Avenue!
We've loved and restored this unique duplex over many years. Elizabeth's a Minneapolis native but a St. Paul convert. Rudolf who hails from the Netherlands, loves the city of St. Paul especially its topography with many hills and vistas. It's a great city for walking and exploring.

As avid travelers, we love well-appointed, clean and comfortable hotels and vacation rentals. We hope you'll love ours too! It's well located one block off of Grand Avenue in the heart of the Summit Hill neighborhood of St. Paul. It's walking or biking distance to a multitude of unique restaurants and shops and less than 10 minutes to downtown St. Paul.
Location, location, location! Besides that, our guests have loved the peacefulness of the space. Our wall colors were professionally chosen to create a serene environment. From the separate, private entrance with the screened-in front porch to the light-filled, spacious rooms, updated kitchen and baths, we invite you to make this your next home away from home when in the Twin Cities.
My husband and I had a fabulous stay in this beautiful, cozy home in St. Paul. Elizabeth maintains a very clean and well-appointed home. We picked up a delicious Thanksgiving turkey dinner at Kowalski's (the high-end grocer just a few blocks away) and enjoyed the feast with our family in her lovely dining room. The kitchen has everything you need, beds and chairs are comfortable, and we especially appreciated the bright lighting for our middle-aged eyes. The neighborhood is fun with lots of restaurants and shops within close walking distance. We will definitely return!
The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood a block away from Grand Avenue which is a wonderful street full of all kinds of restaurants and shops that are much more interesting than malls. Half of the house is the rental and it offers a complete privacy. It is very roomy and in great condition. The hardwood floors, the radiator heating, comfortable beds, especially the king bed in the master bedroom, and a very comfortable walk-in shower are just some of the things we liked. The living room, the dining room, and the kitchen are first rate. There are also a washer and a drier in the basement. On top of this, Elizabeth and her husband are very welcoming and very conscientious. I would recommend this to anybody who is looking for a wonderful lodging walking distance from many interesting things and yet very quiet.
This is our second time staying at this rental home. As before it was in immaculate condition when we arrived. The owners live next door and are available for any questions. It is located one block off Grand Ave in a quiet cul de sac and walking distance to a supermarket and many restaurants.
The amenities are modern and spotless. The bed was very comfortable. There's a washer and dryer in the basement. Overall a great place to stay and we will be looking for this rental when we come back to see our daughter and her family next year.
The home is located just steps from grand Ave in a quaint neighborhood. We could walk to a grocery store and many shops and restaurants . The owner was very friendly helpful and welcoming . We had eveything we needed and were very comfortable. Nice bedrooms and bath! We would love to stay again when we vista St Paul!

Welcome to St. Paul! Voted by USA Today as the 'Best Romantic North American Getaway for 2014', you will love exploring our romantic capital city from your perfectly located vacation home. We're located in Summit Hill, a cozy, walkable neighborhood of beautiful historic homes, colleges, restaurants and unique shopping. Your vacation rental is on a picturesque cul-de-sac but just one block off of bustling Grand Avenue, home to many of the best shopping and dining establishments St. Paul has to offer. You can easily spend your time wandering the immediate neighborhood with its shops, restaurants and historic homes but we're also conveniently located close to downtown St. Paul which is a ten minute bus ride or five minutes by car. (It's also a great walking or biking destination: it's down hill but you can always catch the bus to get back home!) Downtown St. Paul is situated on the Mississippi River and has many beautiful historic areas and also great dining,entertainment and a year round Farmer's Market. In the summer months, you can take a tour of the Mississippi on a paddle boat. In the winter, partake in the Winter Carnival's many events or go ice skating outside at Landmark Center. The Xcel Center (Home of the Wild hockey team and concerts) the Landmark Center, the Ordway (Home of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Minnesota Opera) are all located downtown. We're also close to many colleges: Macalester, William Mitchell College of Law, St. Thomas, St. Catherine's, Hamline and Concordia are all within a ten minute drive. The University of Minnesota campuses are also easy to get to either via the scenic river road or via the freeway. Freeway access is equally easy: we are 1.5 miles to Interstate 94 and less than a mile to 35E. Our new light rail line running between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul is close by. There is a bike rental kiosk one block away in front of our closest supermarket, Kowalski's. If you'd like to explore our twin city, Minneapolis, it's also a short drive or bike ride away where you will find more great shopping, the Walker Art Center, The Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Twins Stadium. The Mall of America is a short 15 minute drive with free parking. We're also close to golf courses, public tennis courts, parks and lakes. Of course, we're also a fantastic stop before or after heading up north to cabin country or the BWCA!
