This storybook cottage, was full of coastal sunshine, and calling our name, one of the Islands timeless historical treasures - completely remodeled. We concur with the original owner and visionary, Lord Healy, who commissioned the home in 1929. He is on record saying that, "This property is the finest location on the island." This little gem has added many happy moments to our family album and invites your family as well.
Views - At first we fell in love with the property's ability to see the Island's expansive beauty.
Unobstructed scenery - There are no homes are between the cottage and the bay!
Tranquility - Quite and off the beaten path. So close to beach and yet out of the traffic pattern, providing a peaceful setting, unique to the island.
Keeping a part of Coronado's quaint Island charm - We enjoyed the process of preserving part of Coronado's history.
Historical significance - We were pleasantly surprised to uncover many stories of those who first envisioned The Seaside cottage's beginnings, (a prominent member of parliament, heroic naval pilot, and a noted humanitarian). All who must have been as visually delighted as we are.
Creating an indoor outdoor space - a great out-look to partake in the festivities and the island's lifestyle. The brick patio hosts one round table and a fire bowl which can also double as a coffee table. The ambient fire bowl allows for the perfect year round, day and evening temperature to utilize the outdoor space. From the street, the terrace perimeter is lined with tall, brick-caped-walls that were designed at the right height and width for auxiliary seating. The trellis creates a cozy shaded area.
We hope that you and yours will be as enchanted as we were and that you make many treasured memories of your own at your this amazing seaside cottage on the bay.

We are sooo happy! The cottage is even more gorgeous than we already expected. You’ve chosen the interior, the furniture, the decoration with such an admirable taste that you’ve created a cosey, warm and bright home, which we really enjoy.
Your mom Nancy is a lovely lady. She welcomed us so kindly with fresh fruits and flowers and showed us around that we instantly felt at home. On our first evening yesterday we enjoyed the fireplace outside and it was so peaceful and everybody was so happy.
Each room is marvelous. I truly adore the style of your cottage. This morning I enjoyed one of the best café Latte I ever had. I brought my milk frothier from Germany because I love good milk foam on my coffee. But then I tried your Nespresso milk frothier machine and it is awesome. It makes the perfect foam. It’ s a luxury.
Today my sons start working and me and the two girls are going to explore Coronado. We’ve seen so many wonderful and interesting places on our route down from San Francisco, but this here is the best. This house, this view, this surrounding – it can’t be any better.
Have a wonderful week and please tell Nancy that we are very grateful that she made settling in and feeling comfortable for us so easy.
P.S. I love to look around in and outside of your cottage. It’s all so tasteful. I love the sea colors, the materials and the plants. It really sparks my creativity so that working here is totally fun.
Great home in a good location. Easy to get to Orange Ave and Hotel Del Coronado/beach. Owners are sweet and take very good care of house!
The charming and well-appointed home was both georgeous and comfortable, and perfectly decorated for the relaxing vacation by the seashore that I always dreamed about! Everything was clean and spotless. The bayside location was lovely and so conveniently located next to the beach and close to the village of Coronado. Nancy and Cherie were friendly and helpful. They took care of everything. I can't wait to return!!!!
We had a marvelous time staying at Cherie's house. Not only was it the perfect location with easy access to the beach, restaurants on Orange, and even the Bay Side via the bike path, her house had everything we needed to make the vacation turn-key. The home is lovely and well maintained, the technology including WiFi and televisions in the rooms is first rate, and the kitchen is fully stocked. The garage has chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, a wagon - really all of the conveniences of home. I would absolutely rent here again.
We had a great time during our stay on the island. The house was very well laid out with a lot of extras and was very centrally located. The use of the bikes was a great feature allowing us to go anywhere on the island and not worry about parking. The family really enjoyed it.
We just completed an extended stay over the holidays at the Seaside Cottage and were thrilled with the home, the location, and the owners' hospitality. They went out of their way to welcome us to their VRBO property and were available anytime we had a question, while at the same time giving us complete privacy during our stay. The home is completely stocked with everything we needed during our stay: tv, wifi, cable, dishes, cooking appliances, linens, toiletries, outdoor toys, bikes, etc. The house has a ton of historic charm and was a great place for our family to hang out. At the same time is close enough to everything to walk or ride a bike. We had a great stay and will definitely consider again in the future. Thanks again!
My husband and I spent a superb 26 day stay in the most beautiful home and local on the Island. We would never tire of the magnificent views and enjoyed "the perfect spot" to experience Coronado’s heartbeat.
Even when our extended family arrived, we immediately felt comfortable and at home. It suited our big group well as we were able to spread-out, come and go, travel around by beach buggy or the home's bikes, and meet up to just relax together. We most appreciated the home's bright and cheery forever-summer feel which was accomplished beautifully in each room. We think the home is even better in person than its online description.
We cherish our times at the sunny Cottage, even the little ones would try to be the first to point it out (echoing its nick-name) as we all delighted to see it coming into view upon return (very walkable) from spending the day at the beach. After a great dinner, we had many memorable nightly fires with all the family gathered round, spending countless hours telling our stories and jokes under the stars.
The grounds were stunning as the caretaker tends the garden and maintains outside gathering areas. I would especially recommend the housekeeping service. The cleaning ladies are pleasant and able to work around us. It allowed us to kept the home in its pristine-clean condition while giving me the break I so needed.
It was absolutely wonderful interacting with the cottage family owners. Don, Nancy and Cherie were very warm, hospitable and wonderful to work with. The booking was a breeze and they took care to provide us even better service than a hotel would offer. Literally our every wish was met upon our arrival including reserving transport from the airport, reservations to our favorite restaurant, bulky items delivery, to stocking the refrigerator with our breakfast order. They were always accessible at a moments notice if we had any questions.
We would highly recommend this property to all our friends and family as it exceeded our expectations.
Our only disappointment was returning home but, we have already made plans to reunite our family each year at our families favorite spot!
