Trinity Trails Ranch is 24 acres of heaven, located in the heart of Texas. The ranch is nestled between the towns of Whitney and Hillsboro on Lake Aquilla just 45 minutes south of the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. There is about a mile of dirt roads on the property to explore and view the natural beauty of the woods and observe the wildlife. It’s peaceful, quiet, secluded, and the stars at night light up the sky. We hate to head back home every time we come to enjoy the ranch.
This custom designed ranch house we call a 'cabin' was built in 2014 and is nearly 1550 square feet arranged in a great open floor plan. It is situated on 6 of the acres in Trinity Trails, but you can explore the entire ranch and the 50 acres of Corp land next to the lake.
The master has a King, second bedroom has a queen, and the third has a set of twin beds. There is also built in queen and full beds in the loft. The couches will work in a pinch for lager groups but is not a sleeper.
Come enjoy the cabin, use a canoe on the lake, fishing off the shore, sitting around the fireplace on the porch, and making great memories with friends and family in a unique get away that won't be soon forgotten. The cabin is about 100 yards from the shoreline, canoe only 50 yards away with a caddy to make it easy to wheel them to the water.
The incredible fishing on Lake Aquilla is one of the best kept secrets in Texas. It's chalked full of bass, crappie, and channel catfish. And Trinity Trails Ranch is set right next to one of the prime fishing spots. And if water skiing, sailing, or scuba diving is more to your liking, Lake Whitney is just a few miles away and is considered one of the top two lakes in all of Texas.
The cabin is very well equipped. We have a 55' flat screen TV with a home theater system and a number of DVDs of various genres. A complete kitchen stocked with all the normal appliances, coffee pot, pots/pans, dishes and glasses, cooking utensils, and a gas grill on large patio means all you should need to bring is groceries.
And as with any place in the country there is a great variety of wildlife to be seen. There are deer, armadillos, wild turkey, the occasional snake, and all kinds of birds...hawks and even bald eagles have stopped by.
Note: Boats can be easily left just inside the front gate as there are so many trees, a couple dips, and turning around with a boat is difficult except at the pasture.
Canoe(s): Life jackets are provided and must be used at all times. Children must be accompanied by an adult when in the canoes.

About Sean Lynes
We have always wanted to have a cabin in the woods we could share with friends and family and we finally built that dream on a very special piece of property!
Sean Lynes purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Sean Lynes chose Hillsboro
I had been looking for years for just the right property for us. This heavily wooded ranch on a lake and with so much room has allowed us to build our dream cabins.

Everything was great we really loved this beautiful home and we will definitely comeback in the future !
Thanks for choosing our little place in the woods. You are welcome back anytime!
Awesome Weekend Getaway
We had such a great time at the cabin this past weekend. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. It rained a lot while we were there and sitting on the porch listening to rain and birds was really relaxing. We will definitely be coming back!!
Cabin Life at it's Finest
The whole family loved the cabin. My grandson had a great time playing on the swings and with the the neighbor dog. Plus, we checked out the organic farm next door that was listed on the website. What a great couple Jim and Roseanne are. They took us all around the farm and my grandson had fun feeding the chickens. If we are ever in the area again, we will stay at this cabin. My only complaint is the internet service, but sure that can't be helped.
My family and I had such a great time. The house was perfect!! We will definitely be planning a trip again soon.
This was the perfect spot for a small getaway for Spring Break. Will definitely come back!
Awesome place ! !
We decided to book this cabin by looking at the positive reviews and it was indeed great. This place had everything we needed. The loft would definitely be the favorite for any toddler. It has a nice view of the woods and stars at night. Decent DVD collections to pass some time. Noticed that there were some board games but we never got a chance to play any. The grill worked fine and we dint have to worry about running out of propane. We were expecting that friendly dog to show up and he did not disappoint us ! He did show up and also brought a ball with him to play. My kid loved playing ball with him. Lake Whitney state park is like 15 mins drive. Nothing much to do. Cool place to relax for a weekend and catch up with friends.
