About Michell Ignacio
I built our first home in Port Barton as we felt that this area was paradise and had the same potential as Boracay, without the crowds and overdevelopment. We have 2 beachfront homes in Port Barton, both listed on this site. We decided to rent the homes to help cover the costs of maintenance and to share the charm and beauty of this area. The feeling we have every time we arrive here is exciting. The homes are simple and it's the freedom and peace we feel here that we enjoy most. Cruising through the islands, swimming on our own beach and enjoying this very special place. I'm sure you'll also enjoy that special feeling.
Michell Ignacio purchased this House in 2007
Why Michell Ignacio chose San Vicente
We purchased this home from a friend that had lived here for 16. He decided to head to the big smoke to enjoy retirement closer to town. We've added lots of amenities since then including a solar power system, solar hot water system, lights, refrigeration, satelite TV, a new kitchen and many other creature comforts. We love the privacy of this area as there are few neighbours in the area and we rarely see anyone else walk past along the beach. The clear water and magnificent beach are exactly like the photos and the scenery at Gilligans is absolutely stunning. At night, try lying on the beach to watch the stars, comets and shooting stars. Then, go down to the beach and run your hands through the water and watch the water sparkle from bioluminescent algae. This is a must do! If you don't spend some time on the beach at night, you'll have missed some WONDERFUL sights.
What makes this House unique
There are few places in the world where you find such a stunning location with such privacy for such a low nightly price. At Gilligans you can choose to do your own meals or we can do it all for you. It's your choice. The views from our home are stunning. You'll forget about work the moment you step of the boat onto the beach.

This is the place to go if you want peace and quiet. If you have kids they're not going to get bored there's lots of things to do, from water activities to board games. The staff are excellent.
It was a pleasure to stay at Gilligans. Especially thanks to Mel the host and Erica and Mia our caretakers! The house is nicely located in a peacefull and quit bay, which was superb! We enjoyed every minute at this place! The kids also had a great time there and weren’t even once bored. Lots of things to do like visiting the waterfall, snorkling and diving trips. Even a small banaboat was available😃. The trip going to Gilligans is a bit of a challenge, but it is really worth it.
Four and a half stars
This is FAR off the beaten path. The road was barely passable. Solar power, poor lighting, and old plumbing was more a nuisance than an adventure. The atractions including Port Barton were average. The staff was first rate.
Sorry you were disappointed. Our staff loved your company. Thanks for staying with us.
It's always amazing and we tend to have an outstanding reservation now every two years. Besides not having a plunger in the middle of the night, Ericka came to the rescue early in the morning. We LOVE how secluded this place was. Next time, there is absolutely no need to go to El Nido.
Exactly what we wanted. Secluded, private, enough luxuries to get by. (We had 3 kids under 7yrs) Erica and reggie are the caretakers, nothing is too much trouble for them. Their two sons, Eric n elly are just fantastic! Gilligan’s is an absolute gem! 10/10!!
Thanks for the nice review Eric, it was a pleasure having you with us.
Erika said she misses your children.
Hope to see you again someday.
AMAZING, EPIC, BEAUTIFUL
One can’t explain in the words the natural beauty of this paradise. The PERFECT private beach with a staff that will go out of there way to make sure your needs are met. I felt the owner of this establishment went above and beyond for my friends and I. In fact I’ll be in touch with him in years to come as I felt so well looked after, I just can’t wait to go back.
If your looking for something outside of the basic hotel lifestyle with real charm this is the place for you. A+ (11 out of 10).
Look no further and book today, completely under priced and a true deal for us travelers. Thanks again Mel & Erica. Your truly amazing. Can’t wait to come back.
Thanks Eric, we loved having your group stay with us....We'll surely jeep in touch. Mel
Port Barton is a small town South of San Vicente on the Island of Palawan. Port Barton is a small township located between the Underground River and El Nido. Many of our guests take the Underground River side trip either on their way to, or coming from Port Barton. We can organise transport by van or boat to El Nido and the Underground River. The road trip from Puerto Princessa is a pleasant 2 and a half to 3 hour trip through dozens of small villages and beside the magnificent Palawan coastline. The trip goes quickly and it's well worth the drive.
Port Barton is situated in Paradise.
Our guests have free use of our kayaks and paddle boats, and we have 2 Stand-up Paddle Boards available for use at Gilligans.
There are around 20 nearby islands in the Port Barton area waiting to be explored. Island hopping trips are very popular as are our Beach Barbecue Lunches.
Gilligans is very close to the Bigaho township and waterfalls, and many of our guests have used our kayaks to paddle around to the next bay to walk to the falls. We'd be happy to take you there so you can explore it if you don't have the energy to paddle around. At Gilligans, there's plenty to do, or nothing to do....It's your choice.
