Welcome to an elegant one bedroom apartment in a building from the late 1800's, located at the very top of the Hill and the center of downtown Boston. This luxury accommodation includes a separate bedroom with a vintage quality queen-sized bed, a spacious open plan kitchen and living area and a bathroom with high-end fittings and custom marble shower.
Beautifully restored original windows that can be raised with one finger, exposed beams and brick and a charming little decorative fireplace capture the time period. Located on the 4th floor rear of the building for a quiet stay and nice afternoon sun. This is a recently100% renovated high-end boutique apartment designed by a master architect and built by master craftsmen.
Named "Luci Bella", this apartment derives its inspiration from the antique Italian bed sconces. With a leaning towards classic Italian design, and an eclectic mix of fixtures and lamps and old windows, we've had fun creating a comfortable and very livable home away from home.
Sleeping: The bedroom has a high quality queen size bed with plush firm Beautyrest mattress; down pillows and nice linens. In the living room, the day bed is an organic bamboo-fiber mattress twin-size for one separate person with the same nice linens and pillows.
Electronics: Excellent wi-fi in living room and bedroom. Living room has 40" new HD television w/ internet connectivity for Amazon, Hulu, Sony Unlimited, Pandora, etc. music and video streaming services. Subscriptions not included but log-in your own or sign-up. Cable is standard plus package (CBS, ABC, CNN, CNBC, ESPN, HBO, Showtime, etc.) DVD/CD Player. A window unit air conditioner in the living room during the summer season, fancy fan year-round. Telephone provided with free U.S. and Canada calling.
Bathroom/Kitchen: Shower (no bathtub) with very high-end rosebud overhead spray and separate hand shower option. Hair-dryer in the linen closet plus all towels. 4 burner gas stove, Bosch silent dishwasher, standing refrigerator/freezer. Microwave, coffee maker, iron & board.
Eco-Green: Aside from a great example of small-space design in a location that promotes walking and public transportation; bed linens and pillows are Eco-certified and cleaning agents, paper supplies and soaps/shampoos are earth-friendly whenever possible. We recycle. Cloth shopping totes are hanging at the door and the electricity is generated from wind. We re-used old wood from the demolition where possible, the insulation layers use old shredded jeans, and we installed a cork sub-layer for softer floors and additional noise mitigation.
Essentials: No smoking, no pets, no parking (ask), sleeps 3 maximum (no exceptions), not suitable for small children. Includes all utilities and furnishings. The owner has written a very detailed manual for the apartment and a personal guide for all services and restaurants in the neighborhood.
Expectations: Please note that Beacon Hill is on a hill in an urban historical zone, so there is a fair amount of walking if staying in this neighborhood. The apartment is a 4th floor walk-up (3 flights of stairs) without an elevator and may not be suitable for all guests.
We have other accommodations in the Beacon Hill neighborhood with different profiles, so just ask.
We would sincerely like to thank owner Paul. This was a truly great holiday. I lived in Boston some time ago and had managed to obtain some cheap flights back for a weeks vacation with my partner. This apartment was the perfect way to spend our time. Superbly located, everything is within walking distance and my favourite all time supermarket 'Wholefoods' is just around the corner. The apartment is everything others have already said, so cozy and comfortable, beautifully appointed in unassuming quaint deco and so well planned out. Fantastic is all we can say. A great job Paul - thank you!
I was so happy with "Luci Bella" -- it was a very comfortable place, beautifully decorated. Not recommended for anyone who has trouble with stairs, but great for one or two people (possibly three) to enjoy just hanging out in the room, or be right at the heart of everything in Boston!
Beacon Hill location. Finished very nicely. Down pillows, soft lighting, great location. Kitchen adequate. I would stay there again. Entrance to the apartment is completely different than the apartment itself so if you are expecting upscale you will have it once you open the door of the apartment but prior to that the entrance appears more like low income apartment in a great part of the city. As long as the entrance is not a problem and you don't mind stairs this is a great place to stay!
The apartment is located on a beautiful, quiet street. Easy walking distance to grocery store, subway stop, great bar, and downtown attractions. Although it is an older building, the property itself was more than adequate for 2 adults.
Our only negative experience was the neighbors invited a group of loud, intoxicated friends on Saturday night who didn't leave until after 3 am. We could hear everything through the walls.
I came to Boston to deliver my 18 year old daughter to Simmons College. I arrived a few days early to explore the city and was thrilled by the location and the charm of Luci Bella. It was the perfect home away from home. The apartment was super clean and very comfortable. I loved the lending library, cookbooks and guide books as well. I can only hope it is available the next time I visit my daughter! Thank you Paul.
I can't say enough about our stay at "Luci Bella"! It was a perfect choice for our stay during the Boston Marathon. The 3 flights of stairs were a bit much but we got used to it by the end of our stay. The 400 square foot apartment was the perfect size for my husband and I. Lots of storage space to put our luggage out of the way. It felt like our home for the 5 days we were there. Paul was nice enough to have an early check in so we could start our holiday early. We would highly recommend this place!
I stayed here for 3 months while attending a course in Boston's North End so I am well acquainted with the property. It is a pleasant place to stay in the heart of Beacon Hill. It is easy to get to the apartment via the subway from the airport. It is only a short walk from the subway stop. Most anything you may need is close at hand (Whole Foods, CVS, restaurants, liquor store, etc.). Boston Common and all of downtown is only a short walk away. Uber is another great option for getting around. Paul was easy to work with and responsive on the rare occasion I needed anything. As others have said, the apartment is a walk up. Those not able or inclined to walk up three flights of stairs should look elsewhere. A coin operated washer and dryer is available for your use on the first floor. This was my home away from home for three months and I very much enjoyed it. I think you will too. I plan to return in the future. Thanks Paul..... Scott
