About Jacqui T. Morin

Hi, My name is Jacqui Morin and I have lived in this area all of my life. I have been a Rental Agent for 15 years. I do a lot of renting to skiers for Sunday River Ski Area slope side and also for Mt Abram Ski Area, and also for summer fun. We have several ski in and ski out condos for rent at North Peak at Sunday River Ski Area. Our properties are clean and comfortable. We do our best to make sure all our guests are comfortable and having fun.

Jacqui T. Morin purchased this house in 2013

Why Jacqui T. Morin chose Bethel - Sunday River area

This property is lakeside, 12 feet from the water, very private and tucked away nicely on the back side of Songo Pond. It has 200 feet of waterfront, great water and mountain views. Great place to fish, kayak, swim. Plus it is within 12 minutes to Sunday River Ski Area and also 12 minutes to Mt Abram Ski Area. Hot Tub, WiFi, new comforters, pillows, blankets. A comfortable place to stay, Enjoy our good sized kitchen to cook yourself a feast.

There is a fire pit out by the water, we have outdoor seating to eat and sit by the water. we have about 12 chairs, can bring more if you want, We have 10 kayaks, a paddle board and 2 canoes, may have more next year.

We have 2 docks out by the house to tie canoes or boats to or just sit out there on the dock enjoying the breeze. We also have a large floating dock. We have 10 kayaks, a paddle board and a 2 canoes to use for the whole week at this rental will save you quite a bit of money.

It is so relaxing here, the atmosphere of the area and the pond, the privacy, meeting with family and friends, it will be a vacation to remember, and come back to again and again. We have also purchased a pool table and a ping pong table. We bough this property because of it being so close to the water. The views of the lake and mountain are beautiful and relaxing. Sunsets are gorgeous. Fall season the foliage is especially pretty around the pond. We are also very close to two ski areas which makes it convenient for those of you who like to ski but like their privacy in the evenings. Very private and relaxing. Large screen TV to watch your favorite shows.

What makes this house unique

It is a private home, and located on the water, very relaxing, and only 4 minutes to Bethel, Maine. Only 12 minutes to Sunday River Ski Area. The house is situated very close to the water and it almost feels like you are on a peninsula, because almost every window you look out of you can see water. Semi private.

Only 4 miles from the Bethel Inn Golf Course.

Great swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, ice fishing, skating, and snow shoeing, horseback riding available. Snowmobile trail is accessible from this property. The views are spectacular, the water calming, and the breeze wonderful and all the smells of summer. We bought this house because of the many windows it has to provide light and views from all rooms of the house. The loft and bathroom upstairs have spectacular views of the water and mountains also. We have a large fire pit by the water, outdoor dining, we just purchased a brand new outdoor dining set with an over sized solar umbrella, It has little lights that light up at night all over it. It's beautiful. We also have several outdoor chairs (12 ), and 2 dining tables that will seat 12. We have also built 2 picnic tables.

We have 2 docks in front of the house a great place to sit and catch some sun or watch the boats go by. We also installed a large floating raft. Unbelievably relaxing. You won't want to leave. The water is very clear so great for swimming, playing, fishing, sunbathing, etc.

We have a new generator installed so if you lose power you will only lose it for a minute and then the generator will come on and it powers the whole house.

We no longer have a gas grill at this property. You may bring one to use if you like.

Our home is very clean and is situated on the back side of songo pond, very private. The house sits very close to the water and with all the windows you can see the pond from most any place in the house. It is private, very quiet and relaxing here. If you are looking for a place to unwind and get away from your busy life this is it. Water is very clear, sandy and rock bottom, great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, or just relaxing. New fire pit located right by the water, great place to just hang out in the evening. large picnic table near the water that will seat at least 16 guests. another smaller one that will seat at least 4 with beautiful view of the pond. 1 very nice outdoor dining set with umbrella that lights up at night. Outdoor hot tub, and pool table and ping pong tables have been set up. fire pit is located at the waters edge with a breathtaking view of the pond. wifi, We have installed a full house generator that will run the whole house and hot tub in a power failure.

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 9 friends stayed in the Sogo Pond House over the weekend for a skiing trip to Sunday River. The house was beautiful and cosy. The hot tub was lovely - really nice to get into after a cold day of skiing. The directions Jacqui provided to the house were helpful. And the location of the house beautiful. One of my friends brought her dog and Jacqui was very understanding about letting us have the dog in the house. Overall a great weekend - couldn't have asked for anything more.

Beautiful well appointed home on a peaceful lake

  • 5 of 5

My mom's group is so happy that we chose this rental for our fall trip this year. We have rented other places before and this was by far the nicest, most well appointed home we have rented.

The owner Jacqui is very kind, and very attentive to any needs you have. She responds quickly to any inquiries and when we called her with questions during our stay she was very helpful.

The house is beautiful and so well laid out. There was plenty of space and everything was so clean and well maintained. Everything in the house is very nice quality (bedding, towels, furniture etc.) It is very clear that a lot of thought, effort and care was put into this house. There are so many nice little touches like the welcome basket, candles near the bath tub and fun things to do.

One of the big highlights for us was the beautiful outdoor hot tub. It was easy to maintain as the owner asked and a perfect luxurious getaway!

We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Hi, It's nice to know that some guests do notice the little things we do to try to make our home a memorable experience for all of our guests. It was such a pleasure meeting you guys and I look forward to seeing you all again next year. I know you guys really enjoyed the kayaks and we plan on having at least 2 more for next summer for a total of 6 or more kayaks plus the 2 canoes we have. I'm glad you enjoyed the hot tub, and thanks so much for taking care of it while you were here. It is very easy to maintain the chlorine level in the tub and glad you had no trouble with it.

Songo Pond, Bethel, Maine

  • 5 of 5

We loved Songo Pond. Jacqui was more than accommodating and the cottage had everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed the kayaks, hot tub, and pond. We brought two dogs and they had a ball swimming and running around the very private property. The location was good for hiking and other day trips. The town of Bethel is quaint with several good restaurants. We hope to go again next year!

Owner's Response: It was amazing how warm and sunny the first 2 weeks of September were while you were here. Were glad to be able to provide kayaks and canoes for our renters. We will have at least 6 kayaks and 2 canoes for next summer. We will also finally have our floating raft next year and it will be big enough to swim out to and sunbathe on if you wish. There are lots of restaurants to choose from in the Bethel area plus all they have up to Sunday River. You can eat at a different place every day if you do not want to cook for yourselves. It's also nice being so close to NH, there are also several of nice restaurants there including many areas to check out and have fun with the kids. To just name a few, you have Santa's Village, Story Land. Clark's trading post ( with real live bear shows) worth going to, The Cog Railroad, (which you can ride on), Conway's scenic railroad, Attitash Mt.,The loon center, ATV & snowmobile rentals, kayak and canoe rentals, Sunday River zip lining and golf. and many more. Lots of hiking trails nearby in Maine and NH. I'm glad you enjoyed the hot tub and found it so easy to maintain. Looking forward to seeing you all next year.

Nice Maine getaway

  • 5 of 5

There were nine of us plus our black lab, which we were so excited to be able to bring on vacation with us. We all fit comfortably in the well maintained and extremely clean house. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and canoes every day. It was great that we were able to bring our boat and dock it right there. Songo Pond is clean, nice size and quiet, perfect for tubing, kayaking and fishing! The kids were able to fish right off the dock. It’s a short drive to Sunday River and Frenchman’s Hole. We really enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend this rental.

Owner's Response: We can sleep up to 10 guests in our beds plus have 3 futons in the living area for extra guests so it makes it comfortable for large groups. We do strive to keep our home clean and maintained to make your stay more memorable. The pond is great for all activities and you may bring your own boat and dock it in front of the house. We will have 2 more kayaks next year and also a large floating raft you can swim out to, to play or sunbathe on. Frenchman's hole is a famous local swimming hole that is fun to explore. As always, all pets are welcomed. So glad you enjoyed your stay.

Wonderful Vacation Home and Location

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay here. There was so much to do, we felt that a week wasn't enough time. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, floating on our rafts, swimming, soaking in the hot tub, the fire pit, and ATVing through New Hampshire mountains to name a few. We especially loved that we were able to bring our dog. He had a blast swimming off the dock and sitting by the fireplace on those chilly mornings. Jacqui was very attentive to all of our needs and when we had a minor issue she came right out and took care of it. It made the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this house! Great for family fun or even a romantic couple getaway like we had. Thank you Jacqui, you can count on us returning!!

Owner's Response: It was such a pleasure meeting you guys. I am so glad you had a great time. I really got a kick out of your dog with the life jacket on, and am glad he now enjoys swimming. It's a nice private area for you pets to wander and enjoy the pond. The pond is great for all kinds of activities, it's clear and clean great for swimming, or boating. This pond is large enough for motor boats, and is famous for water skiing. Great ice fishing in the area also. I was more than glad to take care of the tub issue for you, so you could enjoy it the rest of the week. There are several places you can rent ATV's and snow machines. There is actually a place within 6 miles of the house that you can rent snow machines in Bethel. ATV rentals can be found within a half hour of the house, you can ride right from the rental location to the mountains. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Great Lake, Unprofessional Home-Vaction landlord

  • 1 of 5

First off, our poor experience is 100% the fault of an unprofessional landlord who felt entitled to our security deposit. The facts are we arrived there and the property itself is very well put together facing Songo Pond, the beach was unsafe for children under 5 unfortunately in its current state we found fishing hooks and lines left on the grounds near the boat dock, and more importantly the shore is rocky and is a solid 2.5 - 3.5 ft from the ground off of the dock which is the safest place to walk into the water. Our 4-year old did not swim the whole time due to this, when asked for a simple ladder the homeowner said next year we'll build a beautiful dock "not that it will help you". We bought our own step ladder in town. The real problem began where we agreed to paying extra to using their spa, which when we arrived the spa chlorine bottle had water in it and released some of its potency and gas, now lets be 100% clear about that hot tub it had specific rules written all over the walls, in fact, every wall in the house had rules on them, it was incredibly unusual to put it nicely. The hot rule was put in chlorine once a morning once an evening. Which we followed to the T except for on a windy rainy night where the tub is located under the trees. We tried to correct the chlorine amount the following day and didn't notice an immediate impact but by the evening it started to concern us. I called the homeowner the next morning mid-week, as was required. She told me keep adding chlorine. So I did, nothing improved no potency level changed in the water levels of chlorine, note that I do not think the entire bottle went bad, but as we did everything possible weather permitting. I suggested amending the security deposit for paying for refilling that tub which costs $50 even though as a home renter I followed 100% of her rules weather permitting. Now after this experience and after showing the home back the very next day I return home I received an email from the homeowner about how she is entitled to the entire security deposit citing our contract. This is a snake move, as a renter we did everything possible calling her twice during the week not once did she come to the property ( she cited her personal reasons ) or suggest for us to do anything to remedy the situation, nor was she understanding regarding weather. This wrecked the overall experience and I highly don't suggest renting from this manager or home owner for unprofessional management reasons.

Owner's Response: It is unfortunate that a group of 8 adults were incapable of following simple instructions to maintain a chlorine level in the hot tub. It is a simple test strip test, and it is a requirement to maintain chlorine levels in the hot tub at this property if you decide to use the hot tub during your stay. This is the first time in 2 years that I have had a problem like this. And it is for their own safety to keep those chlorine levels up so no one gets sick from using it. The only sign up on my property is the danger signs on hot tubs that are mandatory to be listed at rental homes. We actually have 2 nice docks. As far as the rest of this stuff in this review it was all written out of spite because of all costs of a re fill on hot tub for neglecting to keep up chlorine levels and letting bacteria grow out of control. If you decide to use the hot tub at this property there is a $50.00 service fee to pay for the professional cleaning service we have done after every rental. If you wish not to use the hot tub during your stay, you will not be responsible for adding chlorine or checking the hot tub. Owner.
