This cottage has been passed down through the generations. My grandfather purchased this property in 1964 from The Hutchins Farm. The original house and barn are situated on the hill and are now only a residence. My grandfather loved the park-like setting and the tidal waters of Huchins Cove situated on Spruce Creek.
I had the pleasure of growing up in the house next door. I am looking forward sharing the experience of this beautiful setting with guests.
I'm sitting on the porch on a crisp morning watching the birds take care of their young. It is so nice to relax and get away at your cute welcoming cottage. We have had a great time here in the 4 short days of our stay. Every morning we have had breakfast on the deck facing the water. We would love to come back someday! Thank you for fitting us in. Your place is a perfect example of Gods outstanding work in nature. Thanks again.
We stayed for a week with our son, wife and under their year old baby. It was spotless and beautiful. The house is fully equipped with everything you might want including a playpen for the baby and full bathroom amenities. The kitchen looks like someone is living there with every tool and pan you would ever want! It is on Hutchins Cove and the sunsets are amazing. Deb and Mike are wonderful hosts. We cannot say enough good things about the home or the hosts but would gladly act as a personal referral. We had a lot of family staying in the area but we had the BEST place to stay.... by far!!!!!
Our trip to Maine was like coming home. We spent seven years at Pease AFB...our sons were born there...so we definitely felt we had come home. Hutchins Cove Cottage is beautiful. The view is wonderful...the gardens are beautiful. Everything in the cottage is perfect...not one thing have been left out...walk in and it's just like home! It's a wonderful place to leave all your stress behind and just relax.
There are so many things to do in the area...York Beach...the Nubble Lighthouse...Brown's Ice Cream. Portsmouth NH has a great downtown area...great shops and The Rosa is a wonderful restaurant....great pizza and salad and wine! We visited Strawberry Banke and took a tour out to the Isle of Shoals. The weather was beautiful all week....cools mornings and days that were not too hot. Late August is a wonderful time to visit, although next time we would go a little later...when the kids go back to school...much less traffic I imagine!
Thanks so much to Deb and Mike for sharing their beautiful cottage!
We really enjoyed our stay at your cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay on the Seacoast. We hit four different beaches in four days and the kids had a blast. We also went to the Outlets right down the street and enjoyed a couple kayak paddles around the cove as well. We only wished we had more time to enjoy since there is so much to do in the area. We cooked in every night and the kitchen was fully stocked. The cottage is beautifully decorated and we especially enjoyed the flowers and birds off the back patio. We would definitely like to come back for another stay! Thanks again, it was lovely.
My wife and I have truly enjoyed our stay here. Thank you for sharing your home with us! It is so well equipped and in the perfect spot for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
We will be back. :)
The Cottage is adorable and so very comfortable; one feels at home immediately. The gardens are lovely. We especially enjoyed the wildlife about; as well as the birds. The view we miss already!
This was a great home base for our family beach vacation close to the York beaches, Downtown Portsmouth, and of course the Kittery Outlets. The house was bright, airy, and above all, comfortable. Our kids enjoyed playing in the large yard, riding their bikes on the long private driveway, and watching all the birds visiting the flower gardens. The house was impeccably clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay. Thanks Deb & Mike for thinking of everything. We didn't want to leave!
