It was clean and had a nice yard for the dog. Great customer service. We basically just spent the night there because we were with family most of the time. We did have a nice walk around the lake.
My husband and I recently stayed in the Silverlake 1 Bedroom rental. We were visiting our son and wanted a location that was close to the Los Feliz section of LA. Ric was easy to work with from start to finish. The description of the apt was very accurate. It was clean, sunny and well maintained. We made full use of the brand new washer and dryer and the kitchen was well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the shower has great water pressure. There is street parking but having a garage was a plus. It is small, so I would recommend renting a smaller vehicle. We had to contact Ric only once during our stay and we were able to get a hold of him right away. The location is only a few miles from Griffith park and Observatory as well as Echo Lake park. Downtown LA is less than a 15 minute drive. Pasadena is about the same distance. Dodger Stadium is not far and it's a beautiful to watch a ballgame. The Red Lion is walking distance and a great place for German sausage and beer. We also recommend Barbrix on Hyperion Ave.. We've had dinner as well as brunch there and it's fabulous. Also recommended is the Grammy Museum in downtown LA. Pasadena is not far and has great shopping. If you go there do stop at Oinkster in Eagle Rock for American BBQ in a retro drive-in setting. All in all, we had a great experience and our stay was enjoyable. I would recommend this rental to a friend or relative, for sure.
My boyfriend and I traveled to this Silverlake rental for the National Football game in January. First of all, it was in a convienent location to travel to and from the city and also Pasadena for the football game. We also had a car so it was nice to know a garage was available. The garage was a little tight but it was easy to make it work!
The apartment was spotless clean upon arrival, with snacks and coffee waiting for us. The pictures due the apartment justice looking almost exactly the same. It shares a wall with a neighbor but was quiet. We were worried it was going to be noisy being located on the street, but it never became a problem! The kitchen and bathroom are not updated but it had all the appliances we needed for the nights we cooked in. We did wish there was a bigger trash can in the kitchen at the time!
The owners provided pretty much everything you could think of including a heater, fan, extra blankets, pillows, laundry detergent etc. Ric was great to work with, replied promptly and met us upon arrival to answer any of our questions. Thanks for a easy and nice stay!
If you like to travel places and get a real feel for how locals do it or you are a former local (like us) this is the place for you.
Before we arrived, I wrote to the owners with a few questions one of them was asking if there was a kettle at the house. They were super responsive and confirmed we'd have a kettle there. It was shiny and waiting on the stove upon our arrival :)
We were late getting in to town (got in after 8 pm) and Ric was very patient and clearly communicated how to meet up to gain access.
The pictures on this site are very accurate depictions of the place. When we got there, we found a cozy, single-story place that only shares one wall and has a rather large private yard space. Reminded me of a place we used to live in near The Grove with the kitschy tiles and retro touches. This place isn't modern, but the owners take care to have every possible need covered. Soaps, detergents, space heaters and even snacks waiting for us on the counter. It was so great to find a place near so many of my favorite haunts, too.
The number one perk here is PARKING! It can be so tough in los angeles and it was so nice to not only have a private garage available to us but street parking was abundant. We never had any trouble finding a space for our big old truck.
I only slept there so I did not experience much other than bed and bath. Nicely decorated and comfortable but the bed is very low and I found it difficult at times to get out of it. There was no soap in the bathroom and very little light in the bedroom.
We really enjoyed this little house and yard. It was comfortable and clean and very quiet. You can walk to great places - Silverlake Coffee or wine store, the lovely new library and a German bar. In the other direction you can walk around the lake and then go to all the great shops down by Lamill Coffee. The whole neighborhood is fun to walk in - all the houses are different. Don't miss the Saturday tours of the Richard Neutra house.
Walking distance to beautiful Silver Lake Reservoir with park like areas in the heart of town. Great 2.2 mile loop for running and walking. Great people watching and celebrity sitings! Located in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Silver Lake is 10 minutes to Downtown LA, 10 minutes to Hollywood and 40 minutes to the beach.
