My husband, Jack, and I have lived in most areas of Victoria over the past 25 years and have found that James Bay is the perfect place to live. We love walking on the Dallas Road waterfront, through Beacon Hill Park or into the middle of the city to shop or visit our favourite restaurants. Both James Bay Village and nearby Cook Street Village afford wonderful places to browse, eat or sit and watch the world go by.
We enjoy traveling and meeting new people. When away from home, we have found that we are happiest when we can have a comfortable 'home base'; somewhere we can unwind for extended periods of time and can avoid daily interruptions from housekeeping staff or the need to eat out three times a day. We have recently purchased this property from Josie (mentioned in the reviews) and we are excited about offering the same experience to you.
The Owner purchased this house in 2013
Located in James Bay close to the park and walkways, you can stay here without a vehicle. Amenities are all within a 10 minute walk, grocery, pharmacy, clinics, liquor stores, etc.
Accommodation was fantastic.Ideal location, quiet street, walking distance to watch sunrise and sunset at the bay and beacon hill park and downtown.
Everything about the property for us was top-notch. We were in Victoria for a week with our young son (18 months) and it really felt like home. We were able to have him get plenty of sleep in a pack-and-play in his own room, let him run around in the backyard area, and could take advantage of a beautiful full kitchen that came with everything we needed and more. A terrific property and hosts we would recommend to anyone visiting Victoria. The location was great too.
This property was perfect for the family wedding we attended in August 2016. The location is great for families and couples alike. It was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The decor is also great! The patio was an awesome setting to relax in and we even had an amazing owl stop by on the garage roof one night for a visit! This property is also located only 1 block away from the best ice cream shop, which was fantastic for everyone. We also would highly recommend taking in the "goat stampede" at BeconHill Park. Well worth the stop if you have kids! Would DEFINATELY stay here again!
We stayed for 3 weeks in July and truly feel that this was an AMAZING home away from home. There was so much attention to detail that it's hard to know where to start. We really appreciated the FULLY stocked kitchen, high-end appliances and items, steam shower, deep, jetted tub, grill, and all the small things from stocking us with soaps, detergents, sponges, extra sheet sets, etc. to the installation of dimmer switches throughout. The guides and personal recommendations were very helpful. And our 4-yo appreciated being able to use the super-low sink on the main floor without the use of a stool.
1) Location, location, location! This rental property is within easy walking distance to the wharf, downtown, BC Museum, and all other central attractions. I loved the proximity to the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Just one short block away, I enjoyed daily morning walks in the park and beach walkway. The kids loved the park as well, including the children's farm and their favorite - the watering can/splash pad. Can't beat the location. Close to attractions but still within a quit neighborhood.
2) cleanliness - the place is impeccably clean and fully stocked for those who chose to cook. Well appointed and tastefully decorated. Beds are very comfortable, which you'll appreciate after a long day of adventuring. The steam shower in the master was a welcome night cap.
3) Value- I looked at 30+ Lodging options, including rentals and hotels, and Delia's place is hands down the best value. Excellent property in a most excellent location.
Thank you Delia for a wonderful stay in beautiful Victoria.
This property is spectacular. It's in easy walking distance to downtown, nearby grocery store, excellent restaurants and Beacon Park. The accommodation is clean, well kept and modern. The kitchen is fully equipped with beautiful tableware, small appliances and cooking essentials. After long days walking the city, we enjoyed the quiet retreat of this spacious property. It made our vacation feel more comfortable and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this property and the owners were wonderful to deal with.
