Stay right in the heart of the Marais district which is one of the most beautiful in Paris! You will be surrounded by antique shops, art galleries, as well as restaurants, bars and fashion stylists.
Apartment Choux is situated in the peace of an inner courtyard where you will be enchanted by the exposed wooden beams and the spacious surroundings. This apartment is perfect for up to 7 guests in 120m2.
\" Space \" will be the catchword of your stay in this wonderful apartment in duplex-style (2 levels) with typical Parisian decorations.
Indeed, you will be able to take advantage of the comfort of the spacious living room on the first floor. You can relax on the sofa while enjoying an excellent wine (there is a sofa bed for one guest in the living room if there are 7 guests). Afterwards you can stroll into the dining room for a lovely dinner around the table. Your delicious dishes will be prepared in the fully equipped open plan kitchen.
On the same floor you have a bedroom with its own bathroom, this little suite is perfect to preserve an intimate and independent space. The toilet is in a separate room as is customary in France.
The second floor is under the roof, where you continue to find the charm of the exposed beams. This pleasant space is dedicated to resting time and consists of two bedrooms that share a full bath. One of the bedrooms is ideal for children with two single beds and the other one is the parental bedroom overlooking the living area with a special view through a glass window.
This area also has a very big bathroom with shower and bathtub for your comfort and one more separate toilet.
Apartment Choux feels like a house will enchant you. Your stay will be more than pleasant and your guests surprised by so much space right in the heart of the famous Marais quarters.
Overall it's a great apartment in a great area with loads of space and to have 2 full bathrooms is a treat. The bathroom vanities were spacious for storing cosmetics. We really appreciated all the fans for when it was hot and the apartment actually stayed quite cool even in 90 degrees. We loved the open plan kitchen, the big table, seating for many in the living room. It's an amazing amount of space for Paris.
It would've made much more sense for us to have the larger bed on the main floor with our own bathroom and both kids upstairs as it means the "master" is the only room without a window and not so private with the windows (with sheer curtains) to the living area below. Saying that, our ikea mattress was quite comfortable although the listing photos show "real" (normal height) beds and all beds were very low platform beds -this wouldn't be appropriate for older guests and weren't great for us either. The wifi and TV worked very well. I found the whole apartment to be very well cleaned.
A few things which would bring it up to a higher standard: There should be a clothes dryer or the current machine upgraded to a combined washer/dryer. I was aware there was no dryer when I booked so it wasn't a surprise but as we are on a 3 week trip, it was a hassle and we had to come home several evenings before going out again to get laundry hung so it would be dry in the morning. Especially without a dryer, there really should be 2 sets of towels per person. 7 days for one towel is not ideal. I could've called and perhaps had some more brought over but it wasn't that big of a deal but just something that could've been a bit better. The dishwasher should be upgraded pretty soon (rusty). The main level bedroom should have somewhere to hang and put away clothes. There's a long desk and bookshelf and an office chair (that is ripped) so it seems obvious that it was an office but needs a couple more bedroom items. I also noticed it's an old mattress with at least one hole on the corner.
We didn't cook except breakfast but the kitchen seemed to be pretty well equipped. There's a kick plate missing and this looks pretty yucky with the mouse trap boxes in view. We didn't have any problems with mice though. A welcome binder is needed with directions to the closest grocery store, metro, cafe etc. The woman that checked us in was very nice, but didn't know any of this-difficult when jet lagged. All in all a good place to stay near the Marais-lots of cafes and shops.
