Simple and relaxing
Great spot to kick your shoes off and relax. Had a great time.
Great weekend getaway
This is a great weekend getaway spot. Pat, the owner, was very responsive to questions about our booking ahead of time, and the directions were spot on. The cabin is just as pictured - beautiful! We spent some time walking around the development then toured the shops across the street at Bison Ranch. With the weather not cooperating with our fishing plans, we were able to enjoy the jacuzzi more than we anticipated. I loved sitting out on the front porch with the morning coffee. Even though there are other cabins in the development, the lot is spacious enough where we felt secluded. I loved having a screen door on the back deck. We were able to sleep with it open and enjoyed the cool air.
Great location! Thanks again
Very restful cabin - perfect for a party of four
Came up with some friends for a four-day stay right after the main season ended. Although we were afraid the cabin was too small, it turned out to be just the right size. We used all of the appliances and features except the fireplace and washer/dryer. Walked one hundred yards to the Wild Woman Saloon to have drinks. It was a fun and relaxing vacation out the Phoenix August heat.
Fantastic experience in this cute cabin
This adorable little cabin was perfect for a getaway with my fiancee and our pup. I can't emphasize how CLEAN it was. Even the floors were spotless - it was impressive. We highly enjoyed our stay here, it's situated close enough to so much hiking that we were able to get a lot in during the day and cook our own dinners and relax at night back at the cabin. With a space heater and gas fireplace, it was easy to warm this place right up in the winter. There are plenty of trees on the lot, but it is in the middle of a bunch of other vacation cabins. This really wasn't an issue for us, as it was very quiet this time of year. We enjoyed our time in the hot tub watching the stars (GREAT STARGAZING OUT THERE) and there were no other people around outside. Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful stay. Thanks for a lovely place and most of all, thank you for having it so clean!
Nice, but disappointing.
I rented this cabin for a birthday weekend getaway for two reasons: the advertised, gas fireplace and hot tub. It was more expensive compared to similar places in the area, but those two features would have made it worth it. We were wanting a relaxing, mountain cabin experience. Even with the gas fireplace, it'd create a cool atmosphere that my girlfriend was hoping for.
What we found was a non-functional fireplace and an over-chlorinated hot tub. There's no built-in heat (if you plan on going in the fall/winter). When I called the owner about the fireplace, he said to just use the space heaters - which work okay after a couple of hours. When the handyman came out the next day to "work on" the fireplace, he just tinkered with the pilot light switch for ten minutes, said "yep, it's broken.", and left.
The cabin itself was nice enough. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was good.
Nice, newer construction
Not functional fireplace
Unusable hot tub
Other cabins are literally 20 feet away (pictures make it look like you're more isolated)
On a busy highway that you can hear even with the windows closed
The fuse for the bathroom kept flipping, with only my girlfriend using the hair dryer
If the cabin was better maintained, the price would be worth it, but it wasn't. It was a decent weekend despite the cabin issues, but I'm not staying here again.
As a cabin owner we make every effort to respond to any issues a guest may have. When this guest arrived he called and said that the fireplace was not working. I immediately called my handyman to go check it out. After taking a look at the fireplace and attempting to restart the pilot light he determined that there was some electronic malfunction and we would need to call in a fireplace repairman. At this time I suggested to the guest to use the space heaters we have available. They are very efficient and would heat the cabin easily. The guest didn't make me aware of how important a fireplace was to their stay as I would have explained that ours is more for functional heating with a blower system and not really a dramatic fire feature. Most small cabins do not have central heating due to their smaller square footage and good insulation.
We do not over chlorinate our spa. We keep the water chemistry as required for health safety, so there may be a slight chlorine odor. I send all guests a vicinity map which clearly shows the location of the cabin and access roads. We are located in a community of other cabins which only a few are kept as rentals. That is the case with the adjacent cabins so there is typically minimal traffic and noise. The guest did not make me aware of any other electrical issues. We would have responded to those quickly. We keep our cabin well maintained and it is cleaned by a professional cleaning service. We want our guests to have an enjoyable experience.
Wonderful weekend away!
We knew this was the area we wanted to stay in but stumbling upon this cabin was a delight. Owner was very easy to deal with, unit was clean and private, spa was hot and bed was just right. But with the WIFI connection and cable tv we were able to extend our stay by me doing a little work on Friday morning. Made sure I saved owner's info as I will be back!
