Great summer get-away

  • 4 of 5

My extended family totally enjoyed this home for an extended weekend. The lake is beautiful, and fun for boating, fishing, and bird watching. It is quite comfortable, and had all the supplies we needed. It is a great fit for the money, not fancy, but casual, clean, nicely decorated, and well supplied. We would definitely stay here again.

Family Break

  • 4 of 5

Angela was extremely easy to work with. Our decision to rent the house between Christmas and New Years was very last minute and Angela was always quick to reply. Once at the house, all we wanted to do was hang out, watch the College Football Bowl games, play games and just enjoy family time. Our family was disappointed to find out the choice of TV channels did not include any ESPN nor local channels so watching football games was not going to happen. When I shared this with Angela, she quickly changed her cable package and a loud roar came from the living room when the football games came on! What a wonderful accommodation she made for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, the house was plenty spacious for our 3 families and stocked with many items you don't usually find in a rental. Having to go outside to get to the lower level was the only slight inconvenience we had but definitely did not impact our stay. We definitely would go back if the situation arises again.

We didn't want to leave!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to this wonderful place with such a pretty view of the water and trees. The owners have thought of everything and made it a great place to get away from it all. We had enough room for a small family reunion. The grandkids love to run and play in the water and on the swing set. We all enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. My mother in law (83 years old) just loved sitting on the balcony and taking it all in. The fire pit was great for roasting marshmallows and enjoying late night conversation around the fire. From this location you can get out and visit other sights as well. We took in the Riverfest in Alanson and also spent a day on Mackinac Island. I have already booked a week here next summer and look forward to another great memory making experience!

great for large family gatherings!

  • 5 of 5

The owner is very attentive and did an amazing job answering any questions and concerns we had. House was clean! Had lots of extras for entertaining ( tons of chairs for the camp fire, swing set for the kids, picnic tables for out door dinners) the kids loved the paddle boat and canoes. The water has a nice sandy bottom for little ones to play by the dock. The washer and dryer were a life saver with a big group. Suggestions would be to bring throw away plates, with no dishwasher no body wants to spend vacation washing dishes! The bottom level and top level are no connected in the inside. So you have to go outside and up the porch to access the top level. But after a day we adjusted and didnt even bother us! Overall we would rent this place again!!

Very clean and lots of room

  • 5 of 5

We had two families and we had the older kids stay on the bottom level and us on the top level. It was awesome, everyone had their own space. There was a full kitchen in each level. Had two Kayaks so everyone had a Kayak (we brought ours also) The only negative was that it was only sandy on the one side of the dock. The main lake was far away, so could not paddle there every day. It was also great that we were able to bring the dogs, we cleaned up after them daily, but they enjoyed the water also. The kitchens were stock with pans, dishes, Tupperware, everything you could possibly need. We would definitely go back there again.

Excellent home for our Bachelor Party

  • 5 of 5

My son wanted to have a low key, outdoorsy bachelor party weekend so we rented this home for the May 13/15 th weekend. My son and I shared the king-size master bedroom, which was fantastic with its own bathroom and shower, while one or two guys each used the other 4 bedrooms with smaller beds. Rather than everyone double up in the full beds, all 5 couches were used as well so sleeping was comfy enough for the 11 of us. On Saturday, we all enjoyed 3 hours of laser tag in Alpena at the old armory building. What a riot! Everyone thought this was a blast. Cooked up brats in the oven and burgers on the grill that evening. Had a bonfire out back til the snow flurries chased us indoors. Was planning to go canoeing on the nearby AuSable (in Mio) on Sunday, but too cold for that. A few of us took turns taking short rides in the two kayaks that were there at the home, and that was great. Beautiful lake, wonderful accommodations, great location...and just a weekend of good clean fun and laughs. I personally loved sitting out on the deck with morning coffee. Found the location nice and quiet and close to Lewiston and facilities we visited (Family Fare, St. Francis Catholic Church and Talley's Log Cabin Bar). Get a big 'A' as far as I'm concerned.
