Villa Elena was perfect ! It was every thing I expected, perfectly situated, beautiful and peaceful neighborhood , any thing that you need is walking distance. The villa it self was clean and very spacious, very comfortable bed a big plus and a very relaxing terrace. Jaime made himself available when needed and extremely cordial. The best beach in the San Juan is just a couple of steps away. Would not hesitate on booking it again on my next visit. .It really felt like home.
Decided to take a quick vacation to PR from Dallas. The Villa is located in the center of the Condado residential area and walking distance from everything you want to enjoy. Its is exactly as described and very comfortable. When I come back to PR I will stay here again. Thanks Jaime.
Overall a great experience. I usually hesitate when choosing things online and this was no exeption. It was my first homeaway vacation and I must say it was well worth it. The property was well kept, the owner was not intrusive and the beach steps away. All this at a great price , what else do you want. Looking forward to going back to boriquen..
Arrived on 12/25 and Jaime had a text waiting for me to make sure our trip went well. He met us at the property and the townhouse was as promised in the pics on this site. The unit is clean and more spacious than the pictures lead you to believe. The location is excellent and convenient, less than 15 min to the airport and 15 min to downtown Viejo San Juan. This is not a touristy area and you get to experience life as a local. Mango's (restaurant) and Kasalta bakery (coffee, restaurant and bakery) are an easy walking distance. Parque Barbosa is also easy walking distance and used a lot by the public. The beach is simply stunning and less than 100 yards from your door. We spent a lot of time on the rooftop terrace, which day and night was a favorite spot for us. Jaime was a great host and checked back with us during the week to make sure we had everything we needed. I have no hesitation in recommending Villa Elena.
Beautiful property, well maintained and very clean. Everything you need like rest, bar, walgreens and of course the beach is at a very short walk (70 steps if i recall). Description of the property was very accurate and did not disappoint. Interior is modern with all ammenities you would find in a hotel but with a home feel to it. Owner is very nice and was not intrusive. Has a terrace on the 3rd floor great for sunsets and working on your tan. What a great place to stay.
San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico is the oldest city on US territory (St. Augustine, Florida the oldest city in the continental). Founded in 1521 by Juan Ponce de León, who named it City of Puerto Rico ('Rich Port').
The history of San Juan begins a logn time before its official foundation, in 1493, during his second voyage, Christopher Columbus landed in Puerto Rico. He named the island 'San Juan Bautista', in honor of John the Baptist. But was not until 1508, that the Spanish government appointed Juan Ponce de León as the first governor of the island. He founded the original settlement in Caparra, now known as Pueblo Viejo, behind the almost land-locked harbor just to the west of the present metropolitan area and the city quickly became Spain's most important military outpost in the Caribbean.
A year later, the original settlement was relocated to a nearby coastal islet (to the site of what is now called Old San Juan) and named Puerto Rico (Rich Port). Sometime during the 1520s, confusion over the names led to a switch, the island took the name of Puerto Rico and the town became San Juan.
Today, San Juan is known as 'La Ciudad Amurallada' (the walled city) and is one of the biggest and best natural harbors in the Caribbean and is the second oldest European-founded city in the Americas (after Santo Domingo, which was officially founded on August 5, 1498.)
