Overview

About the property

Centrally Located Downtown Memphis Apartment - Fully Furnished With Kitchen

The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.

Located in the heart of the Downtown Neighborhood – near the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping – our apartments are the ideal home base for exploring the city. Living in a 19-story skyscraper allows a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. Walk outside and explore the rich, dense neighborhood. Fine dining is offered within blocks at renowned restaurants such as Rendezvous!, The Majestic Grille, or Flights. Enjoy a pint at the neighborhood Irish pub, The Brass Door, or make the three-minute drive to Beale Street and relish in its famous bars such as Silky O’Sullivans, Alfred’s, or Bardog Tavern. You could also take the trolley to Beale St, to the Pyramid, or around the downtown area, since there is a trolley stop a block away.

The apartments provide a homey feel with a luxurious touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view. Units come with a kitchen, fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, pots/pans, and dishes. The Management office on the first floor is ready to assist you during business hours, and, as many of my residents already know, I am always just a phone call away. A laundry room with coin-operated machines and a gym on the top floor are easily accessible through the three elevators.

There are public metered spots all around the building. If metered parking is not available, there is a nearby parking garage (1 block away) available for a fee. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.

Situated at an unbeatable location with competitive pricing, our apartments are a click away from becoming your future home or weekend getaway. Let yourself be inspired by the view and invigorated by the bustling and lively neighborhood. Rest up in our comfortable abodes and make sure to spend enough time exploring the giant playground that is the City of Memphis. Come home and enjoy the many amenities, such as the laundry room and the gym, and the luxurious construction and styling of The Exchange Building Apartments.

While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. I'd return

The flat was great, could use some upgrades, ice maker, comfortable couch, but bed was comfortable, staff was very happy to help, if I were to come back to Memphis, I would stay again

Fine

  • 3 of 5

Exterior of the building is beautiful and very convenient downtown location. The room was very spacious and beds were comfortable but it was not suitable for a 4 night stay since there were only two wash cloths and one dish tablet, one coffee filter and few paper towels in the property. Access was easy and the lobby of the building was cute.

Cute, comfy, clean, and convenient! I would rent again in a heartbeat.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here overnight during the BSMF. The location is so convenient to walk to Tom Lee Park and several bars and restaurants that are along the way and we felt safe walking late at night in the area. I'm obsessed with how cute the apartment is and we had a great view. The space was very clean, comfortable, and simple, which was perfect for us. The only issue we had was the lack of iron/ironing board. We now know to bring one along with us, it just would have been convenient for guests to have. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend staying here!

Good location, not well maintained

  • 2 of 5

The location of this apartment was terrific and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

The free pass to use a local gym was a nice touch. But while the apartment was clean, it was not in good condition. The window blinds and sofa were broken. The television sound was distorted because the speaker was located on the bottom of the set and it rested directly upon the table. The garbage disposal and dishwasher were both unbelievably loud and seemed like they were barely functioning. The kitchen was very sparsely appointed - we had difficulty attempting to prepare a simple meal there.

Fun Night Out!

  • 4 of 5

Unit was clean (except for a pair of underwear and sock that was left in the drawer beside the bed). Unit was quiet and comfortable. Bathroom located inside bedroom, so if sharing unit, know you will have to keep bedroom door open at night. Only 1 mirror in the bathroom. Could use another somewhere (maybe a full-length mirror on wall or door). Was able to get more towels and sheets/blanket for the couch through front desk. Great location and short walk to Beale/Downtown areas. Also took bus/Trolley to Pyramid for $1. All in all, we were pleased with our stay.

Perfect Location

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was great and in an excellent location right downtown. It's a pretty basic place, so don't expect lavish accommodations. Even thought it's a standard VRBO apartment, the building is mix use, so you have to check-in at the small hotel lobby off the ground floor. The apartment is one bedroom one bath with a kitchen and sofa in a small living room. It is a full kitchen, but it isn't stocked well enough to do a lot of cooking. There is no included parking, however parking meters are free on the weekends. There is a lot of parking available within a couple of blocks of the building, free between 6 on Friday and 8 on Monday, so don't pay for parking if you're there on a weekend. The owner was very communicative and overall it was a great place to stay in Memphis.
