Find peaceful relaxation and serenity as you watch nature's wildlife and marvel the beautiful ocean bay views that are less than 30 feet from the tastefully furnished home and new deck. Hear seabirds and feel the gentle breeze. Perfect for boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, clamming, and exploring. 8300 sq ft fenced lot provides outdoor enjoyment like relaxing in the sun and shade, grilling, new brick patio seating, all overlooking the water with just steps to your own clear water pebble beach. Walk to Flo's clam shop, or enjoy a quick drive to many fun spots like Newport, than return to the tranquility.
My family took a mini vacation and stayed here for the long weekend. From the very start, Carol and Doug were so friendly, kind, and extremely accommodating. Upon arrival, we were very happy, the house was even better than the pictures. It was very clean and had everything we could possibly need. When we weren't visiting Newport, we spent most of our time on the back deck. Coffee on the deck while we watched the sunrise was the perfect way to start the day. The dogs loved running around the fenced-in back yard while we relaxed and enjoyed the most beautiful view. It was a great stay and we look forward to doing it again!
Our family had a wonderful time...Preview photos did not disappoint...right on the mark....the property and beach house are well maintained...it had a host of kitchen cookware. Doug and Carol were gracious to us upon arrival. They offered many suggestions as to popular tourist attractions and restaurants. The use of kayaks truly added to our stay. At weeks end the grandkids did not want to leave..simply a great stay and recommend this rental without reservation.
Simply put, this place is terrific. We had a family wedding in Portsmouth and this beach house was the perfect spot to stay to and to entertain. Everything as advertised and more. We particularly loved the fenced-in yard for our dog, as well as the deck and front sun room. Would highly recommend it to anyone and we'll be back. Thanks, Doug & Carol.
Rented this home for a sister's getaway weekend, it really was a perfect spot. The views are just beautiful, and the home is quaint and charming. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and cold the whole trip, so we weren't able to utilize the great patio.....but this is defintely a spot I'd come back to visit! Thanks for a great weekend!
Gorgeous beachhouse, clean, well-maintained, fantastic views. Kayaking around the bay was so much fun, our dogs loved the totally fenced in yard! The sauna was great and the outdoor shower is wonderful! We enjoyed two delicious meals at 15 Point Road and also visited the 3 vineyards that were nearby - Sakonnet, Green Vale and Newport Wineries. Don't miss Sakonnet, which is a lovely spot and had a great lunch. We look forward to coming back next year!!
To be honest, we were a little nervous when first driving to the house as we passed a few run-down properties in the neighborhood, which unfortunately the owner of this house can do nothing about. But once inside the house we were really happy. Fresh everything, paint, floors, furniture, kitchen etc....you name, it is clean and fresh. The backyard utilizes the space well and the inside and outside is decorated tastefully with tons of beach charm. The house is somewhat on the small side but with the 3 large sliding doors on the backside of the house leading to the deck, it brings the outside in. WIFI was a concern, as stated by another reviewer, however, with some tweaks on my computer I had it up and running. Signal is poor, but it just required reconnection every time you exited the internet. Other then that it worked fine. Great yard for dogs, fenced in. Since we had our 9 month old with us we were not able to dine at some of the high-end places that were recommended. We were not blown away by the food anywhere, Newport, Bristol, and surrounding areas. However, once again we were going to family restaurants and not fine dinning. Flo's is good, but the hype is higher. The Quahogs/stuffies at Anthony's are way better then Flo's. Anthony's is simple seafood but is the freshest around. Scampi's was average but we really like that fact that the owner holds banquets for the "Boys Home" and picks up the tab, very classy so they had our business twice. Not to mention I left my credit card there the first night and it was held for me when I returned the next day when realizing it was missing. The wineries were fun but rather expensive at 10-12 a tasting. I would recommend the one in Little Compton over all others. Newport Storm brewery was a good time as well, very generous pours at both of the two mention above. Thames Street in Newport is a must do, even if you do not shop. Nice area to walk around and enjoy the brick streets and old style lamp posts. Driving up and down the coast brings you to many beautiful areas and interesting places. Wow, we did a lot in one week with a baby and a dog. Oh and the bed in the first floor bedroom is awesome, like sleeping on a cotton ball. Overall, very happy with the house and the rent is fairly priced.
Gorgeous coastal area with numerous activities and festivities besides simple tranquil relaxation, like polo, wine tasting, car shows, mansions, cliff walks. Boston, MA is 1 hour away, Providence RI is 30' away. Within minutes are Rts 24, 138, and 114. 20minutes from Newport RI. Within a mile are various water view good restaurants and a pub with live entertainment. RogerWilliams college is minutes away and historic Bristol.
