We have had the best time!

  • 4 of 5

Loved the Fred Haus! Completely adorable. Authentic stone walls and furniture. Perfect haus for a couple and in walking distance to main street. We loved hearing the doves cooing all the time. Beautiful neighborhood. On Sunday morning we were waken by church bells. The only drawback is the road noise. That's why only 4 stars! We will be back!

Spring getaway

We love this house. We have stayed there twice and will return again. Exceptionally clean, and well maintained. You will feel so special with all of the "treats" provided.

Wonderful vacation cottage

  • 5 of 5

We spent five nights in this tastefully decorated house. Furnished with period pieces, it reminded us of our grandparents' homes. The photos just do not do it justice. From either (keyless) entry, the thoughtfulness of the owners was evident. Flowers abounded as well as spring decor. Both the porch and the back patio made very inviting places to sit and relax.

Here are a few of the amenities we enjoyed: a very comfortable bed with luxurious linens, lots of vintage lighting, the rooster-claw tub, thick, fluffy towels, interesting books about Fredericksburg and Texas, beverages in the fridge, snacks all over the kitchen, a coin-operated candy machine--coins provided--coffee, a well-stocked kitchen for cooking and paper plates for easy clean-up, plenty of hot water and that spring decor previously mentioned tastefully carried inside. Additionally, we found the wi-fi to be consistently fast, and the washer and dryer very efficient.

Fred.Haus is very conveniently located with town center two blocks away, and the HEB within a few blocks. From the house, we did a lot of ranch road touring to view bluebonnets and numerous other wildflowers. The other reason for our visit was to visit the G. Harvey gallery, The WhistlePik. We were not disappointed by either! Due to its proximity to San Antonio, we took the opportunity to visit the Alamo and the missions on that trail.

I don't think we could have chosen a more perfect location for our stay. The owners are very thoughtful and answer all inquiries promptly. They have clearly put a lot of effort in offering a cottage that is both historically refurbished and extremely comfortable. If our travels bring us back this way, we will definitely plan our trip around a stay here.

Beautiful home and property. Details for days.

  • 5 of 5

It was our first time in Fredericksburg and to the Fred Haus and it couldn't have been more lovely. What a quaint little home within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We spent plenty of time sipping coffee and wine on the front porch and exploring the many details of the house and town.

The home itself has been decorated with meticulous period detail. The antiques are all just a delight to discover. AND the owners hid little surprises everywhere for us. Wow. So much fun. We'll be back!

Quaint stay in Fredericksburg!

  • 5 of 5

This was in a perfect location and close to everything. It was perfect when we needed a place for an additional 2 people that joined our group trip but it would comfortably house four people. The Texas treats left by the hosts were an absolute delight and we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for having such a neat rental unit available.
