Fantastic 1BR apartment located in the South Clintonville/North University District area, minutes from OSU or downtown. It is on the ground floor of a lovely 1926 4-unit brick building. It's beautifully furnished and is ideal for a single or couple who are visiting or relocating to Columbus.
The apartment has hardwood floors, wood panel doors, double-hung windows with storm windows and screens, and it has the original 1926 bath and kitchen fixtures. The kitchen has a full-sized gas stove, a small built-in microwave, a dark wood countertop, a hidden drop-down breakfast table, and a hidden drop-down ironing board. It is equipped with everything you need (toaster, coffee maker, plates, glasses, cups, pots, pans, silverware, and an assortment of utensils) to cook any sort of meal. The adjoining hall space functions as a continuation of the kitchen and contains a full-sized refrigerator, a narrow hutch, and a utility/pantry closet. Linens are provided for the bedroom, the bath, and the kitchen, with extras stored inside the utility closet.
The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the bathroom has single-handle shower and lavatory faucets. The living room has a decorative fireplace and a 40' Smart TV. There is an elegant formal dining room with a small antique desk and wireless internet service for your laptop.
The apartment temperature is always comfortable thanks to the presence of a thermostat in the Dining Room that allows you to control the heat and AC settings, and thanks to the ceiling fans in both the Living Room and the Bedroom.
Guests will have one designated parking space at the back of the apartment in a carport/garage structure. This structure is somewhat small and will accommodate most cars as long as you pull in straight and not at an angle. If your car is particularly large, there is alternate parking available on Indianola Avenue about 1/4 lock north of the apartment. There is a private entry to the apartment from the back.. A washer and dryer are available in the basement of the building.
I live about a block from this apartment and am available to solve any problems pretty quickly. I have recently retired from my job at OSU.
This is a wonderful vibrant neighborhood with a mix of rental units and private residences. There is a ravine park within easy walking distance and an assortment of shops and restaurants on Indianola. It's a quick drive to High Street and its many shops (including a Giant Eagle supermarket and a CVS Pharmacy), and access to either the I-71 or the 315 freeway is quite close.
A city bus line runs in front of the apartment. It travels primarily south and north and will easily get you to downtown or to Worthington, with transfers available to other directions. An OSU bus line runs just south of the apartment with a stop 3 blocks away at Clinton and Indianola.
Minimum rental period is three nights at $90/night. Maximum occupancy is two persons. Under special circumstances, it can accommodate a 3rd person for an extra $20/night fee. Longer rentals of 3 months or more welcome at reduced rate. This is a non-smoking apartment, and no pets are allowed. It is not suitable for children under the age of 12.
