This is a special house in a special neighborhood. Forest Home is a secluded hamlet located adjacent to the Cornell campus. Stroll along the tree-lined shores of Beebe Lake to campus, then return to enjoy the tranquility and privacy of your third floor room(s). A picnic grove is located across the road, and the Cornell Plantations are just footsteps away.
The Lodge was built in an era when woodworkers prided themselves on their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Enjoy the gracious gardens and porches of this historic home.
Our guest rooms are located on the third floor, separate from the rest of the home. There are two guest rooms with plenty of closets and drawers and a beautiful view of the grounds and the creek that fronts the property. Rent one bedroom or both (prices shown are for one bedroom). The third floor also has its own kitchen, breakfast room, and bathroom, with private parking for guests.
We live in the home and will be happy to answer your questions to help you to find your way around Ithaca and Cornell. We are pleased to welcome you to the Forest Home Lodge!
From our doorstep it's a short walk to Cornell, where you can catch the TCAT bus most anywhere in Ithaca.
Our family is originally from Hawaii Island and we look forward to sharing our aloha spirit with you!
Linda Copman purchased this lodge in 2013
Our home was operated as a lodge from 1930-1960, and we are pleased to welcome a new generation of guests to the historic Forest Home Lodge!
Within walking distance of the stream, Beebe Lake, the golf course, Cornell, and downtown Ithaca - the location is perfect!
The property was different than expected. Our room was on the top floor without air conditioning. We were expecting a private bathroom and small kitchenette where we could prepare meals but instead arrived to find out that the bathroom and kitchen area were shared. There was a mini fridge in the room, but we had more groceries that could fit. We also found out upon arrival that the owner had a cat, which my husband and I are both very allergic to. We assumed that no pets meant no pets. Ultimately, Linda refunded our money and we spent the weekend at the Ithaca Hotel. We were disappointed to lose our groceries, however, the rest of our trip to Ithaca was great!
A great location and a comfortable, warm and welcoming home
Convenient location close to Cornell in a pleasant neighborhood. Residence has a well maintained and inviting garden area. We stayed in the large airy master suite overlooking a river with a connected bathroom. The house is very clean and quiet. The owner is justifiably proud of the quality of her property. Highly recommended.
Within easy walking distance of Cornell University's Ithaca campus.
