A haven of peace and tranquillity, Baraka Point's serpentine path winds through two acres of tropical gardens, out of which rise the villa's distinctive copper-peaked pavilions with five king size ocean view suites plus four small children's bedrooms. A fourth, larger pavilion incorporates the spacious living, dining and entertainment areas of the villa while the Spa and Games Room occupy two further pavilions.
Born in Montreal, Canada - I first came to Virgin Gorda close to 20 years ago. My husband and I fell in love with the island and kept coming back. It didn't take too long before we realized we needed to own a piece of this paradise! We bought the land at Nail Bay Point, and 3 years later we hosted our first rental guests in 2003.
Jennifer Bogdany purchased this villa in 1999
We built this home away from home in Virgin Gorda because we loved coming to this island for the seclusion it provides. We're proud to call Baraka Point & Virgin Gorda our second home - we hope you feel that way too.
Baraka Point was named from a Swahili expression which translates as 'Hurry, hurry is no blessing'. Baraka (‘blessing') Point is a special place run by special people where time stands still and relaxation is the order of the day. Our team including a Villa Manager, Private Chef, Concierge, Housekeepers and Maintenance Crew all live off-site to ensure you have your complete privacy.
Baraka Point takes your breath away from the moment you step onto the property. The gardens are gorgeous and exotic, the rooms are huge, elegant and luxurious, the views from the multiple decks around the point are breathtaking and the staff are so friendly and hard working, they make your stay even more enjoyable. The snorkelling nearby is breathtaking, and there is never a dull moment- you can swim in the infinity pool, get an open-air massage, take in the local culture or just relax in a hammock overlooking the Carribean! Can't say enough good things about Baraka Point.
From the moment we arrived everything about our stay at Baraka Point was above excellent. The Villa is Beautiful and the views are spectacular! ...but the staff takes this vacation to a different level of excellence. The food was amazing, fresh and inventive. We were pampered being waited on throughout the day and all activities were organized perfectly. The Villa itself is unique and beautiful but above that is the warm and inviting atmosphere created by Meghann and Crew. We will look forward to another stay! Thanks again for this unforgettable vacation!!!
We spent an amazing week at Baraka Point in January. The setting is beautiful...you look out over the Caribbean from every room. Each room is in its own "bungalow" so they are very private. the staff made the trip perfect. They are so nice, personable and there to help you in anyway but not intrusive. Meghann is the villa manager and she is so great you would like to bring her home to run your house. She is easy going, knowledgeable about the area and perfect in every way. The food was delicious and Liz, the chef, was able to make wonderful tasting gluten free food for one of our friends. I came home with lots of new recipes. There is a hut for massages. I had 2 massages and they were some of the best I have ever had. We walked everyday...it is very hilly, so you get good exercise. Some of us snorkeled, fished, and visited the baths. I wish I was sitting by the pool right now. I would highly recommend Baraka Point to anyone...I cant wait to go back!
We had SO much fun at this very beautiful, well thought out villa. Great views, beautiful outdoor spaces, easy walk to beach -- all made even more spectacular with a fabulously attentive staff. This has been our favorite stay in the Caribbean (comparing to St Lucia and two separate villa rentals on Tortola). Highly recommend Virgin Gorda and highly recommend Baraka Point!
We've rented several luxury villas in the BVIs over the years and Baracka Point far and away stands out from the rest. Stunning views, beautifully appointed rooms, wonderful food, knowledgeable, helpful staff who are incredibly friendly yet professional: nothing was overlooked in the making of this "perfect retreat". Easily one of our best vacations ever!
