Romantic Cottage With Beautiful View, Walk To Long Point Beach

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

Our vacation house is perfect for a couple or small family. It has beautiful water views of Saratoga passage from the main living spaces and the master bedroom with large view windows which let in lots of light. A 10 minute walk will take you right to beautiful Long Point Beach. You can often see Great Blue Herons at the beach, and other birds.

It is just a charming cottage for a getaway, and a perfect spot to come back to after exploring the many island sights nearby.

We have a nice view deck, a cozy gas fireplace in the living room, and a cozy electric fireplace in the master bedroom. The kitchen is completely equipped for cooking and is open to the dining room with french doors to the deck.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds. There are 2 bathrooms and a laundry room for your convenience, as well as a one car garage. The 1st bathroom with a tub/shower combo is in the hall close to both bedrooms. The 2nd bathroom has a shower and is at the other end of the house, near the laundry room.

Everything in our cottage is updated, and it is very clean and bright. We love visiting here and think you will too.

** As of January 9, 2017 we have converted our fireplace to gas, easy to use and warm and comfortable**

About Brian Piller and Susan Petersen

We are Brian and Susie, a semi-retired couple currently living in Helena, Montana. We are prior Seattle residents and purchased this charming view home to have a place to return to the ocean, and to visit our grown children in the Seattle area. Someday we hope to move back permanently.

Brian is a native of Seattle and Susie is a native Alaskan, so our ties to the Pacific Northwest are strong.

Why Brian Piller and Susan Petersen chose Whidbey Island

We fell in love with our Long Point View Cottage after spending several months looking on Whidbey Island. We chose Whidbey Island for the quiet island lifestyle, the beaches and ocean views, and its proximity to seattle.

What makes this cottage unique

We particularly love the light and bright feel of our cottage, the french doors to the deck and the large view windows. The house just has lovely ambiance, has been impeccably maintained and updated. The house is on a very private and spacious 1/3 acre.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a few days for our 11-year old daughter's spring break at the Coupeville Cottage. It was perfect and in fact exceeded expectations. The house was spotless and well-supplied. The view over Penn Cove was beautiful. The neighborhood is so quiet and relaxing. The best part was the isolated beach so near by. We took our 8-month old labradoodle with us and were able to run her to her heart's content. Brian and Susie were wonderful to work with and made everything so easy. Thank you! Oh, and I forgot to mention the proximity of Coupeville with its cute shops and restaurants. Too many good things to list. We rent houses with some frequency and this one is near the top of the list.

Family of four

  • 4 of 5

Loved our stay at Brian and Susies place. Our family of 4 came for a relaxing discovery vacation of Whidbey. House was clean and cozy with beautiful views. Neighborhood is quiet. Beach a short walk down the hill. Even though town is within a walk, it's long and uphill on the way home. 2 baths but only one shower so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

Owner's Response: We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. There is a shower in each bathroom. Maybe I should put shower instructions. There is a ring that pulls down on the lip of the spout. So sorry you had a problem with it. It is about a 2 mile walk into town so not really walking distance. Thank you again for choosing our home.

My husband, sister and I had a marvelous time at this rental. The location is supremely quiet and private, yet only a five-minute drive to Coupeville's waterfront. We spent two lovely times at the large beach (perhaps a mile away) and loved that there were only a couple of other people there. The path to the water from where we parked is extremely short and also level, often not true, so we recommend this spot to anyone for whom acces is an issue.

The view from the house is expansive and beautiful; we felt on vacation immediately. The house was immaculate and comfortable. We have nothing but compliments for the owners. FYI, the bedrooms adjoin and the twin-bed bathroom is at the far end of the house, but these were not an issue for us.

As for outings, we strongly recommend Lavender Wind Farm and Fort Casey. This year the lavender was in full, stunning bloom (July 10), so we got a bit of Provence while on Whidbey. We'd love to return here so hope our very positive review doesn't mean this rental is already taken!

Great stay in Coupeville

  • 4 of 5

Well kept bungalow and well equipped in a nice location just a couple of miles from Coupeville. We had plenty of deer and bunnies in the front and back yards during our stay. Beach is a ten minute stroll down the quiet road in front of the property. Lovely views from the deck.

Property amenities were as described in its description; well kept, very functional, all equipment

  • 5 of 5

Property was extremely accessible from the ferry, in a quiet and prestige natural environment; all equipment worked, instructions clear to understand and manage. easy and quick access to Main and Front Streets, as well as shopping centers. Beautiful view, comfortable bedding, linens, towels, blankets available. Washer, dryer and dish washer, gas furnace, everything worked smoothly. Owners leave their personal cell phones for potential assistance. We will return.

Thank you for your hospitality and making your beautiful home at the disposal of visitors to enjoy and share this unique environmental paradise ( we saw quails with babies, rabbits and deer of different ages...
