Liberty cottage is in the perfect location to enjoy the charm and magic of Fairhope, being only a five to ten minute walk from downtown or the bay. Our scenic neighborhood consists of quiet, tree-lined streets that are filled with architectural gems and live oaks, yet it is only a short walk or bicycle ride to the shops and bistros of downtown, or to the stunning sunsets on the bay. There is no hustle and bustle of vacation traffic here, just the slow-paced rhythms of the little village that time seems to have forgotten. You will come back again and again!
The 1940’s era cottage has been completely renovated and modernized, including the new addition of a romantic, 600 square foot master suite. This bedroom (king bed) is truly “over the top”, with its beautiful furnishings, 600 thread count linen, indirect and ambient lighting and elegant décor. The master bath features a large, marble shower, a double vanity and a claw-foot tub that is adjacent to an opaque window for those luxurious soaks. The other suite is smaller with a queen bed, but it also has a modern bath with a large marble and glass shower. Like the other suite, the sheets are 600 thread count, and both bedrooms have flat screen tv’s. Both bedrooms have french doors that lead to a central courtyard that is perfect for outdoor cooking and entertaining under the stars.
The modern, gourmet kitchen also opens to the courtyard, and it features: a dual fuel stove that is set into a granite central island; side by side stainless steel refrigerator; indirect ambient lighting as well as track lighting with dimmers; granite counter tops; custom cabinetry; coffee bar with a Keurig coffee maker; microwave; and oak flooring. In fact, the entire house has new oak floors. Adjoining the kitchen is a former porch that is now a window-lined and mahogany-paneled bar and dining area. It has an exquisite mahogany and copper bar, a stained-glass window and light, and classic mahogany paneling to make this the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon drink or to gather with friends. This little room is stunning, and it makes the kitchen one of the most unique that you will see.
The beautifully decorated living room is a combination of comfortable chairs, a classic leather sofa, ambient lighting and a 60 inch flat screen tv. Like all rooms in the house, this one is also stunning.
As a veteran Fairhope visitor, I can compare it to the best in the area. My month long stay in November (2013) was a wonderful experience which I hope to repeat. The cottage is tastefully and creatively decorated and equipped with everything you will need. The bedrooms, kitchen and bar are my favorite features. It's on a nice private street and an easy 10 minute walk to downtown Fairhope. This was a unique rental and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
We are a couple who live in Vermont and try to get away for a couple of months in the winter. This was our second visit to Fairhope and our stay at Liberty cottage. The cottage is beautifully furnished and is equipped with all the comforts needed to make it a "home away from home." The location is ideal. The bay and downtown are both an easy walk. The owners are nearby and very accessible.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome. See you next year!
