We stayed in early March. We had a great time during our stay. Our host could not have been more helpful. The cottage was perfect and we really appreciated the fishing tips and the use of the raft for our float down the Jackson. The location of the cottage was perfect on the river and close to amenities when needed. We are looking forward to returning later this year.

Perfect Spot for Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

My sisters and our families spent a second Thanksgiving here-- what a great place to spend time together and enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful river frontage (we spotted an otter family swimming down the river!) and lots of outdoor games (cornhole, croquet, etc.) for all ages. We were so impressed that the owners had taken feedback from last year about a baby gate for the loft room and built a beautiful stair-guard! Everyone slept easy and went to bed tired! The owners put up 3-4 long folding tables in the sunroom so we could spread out our Thanksgiving spread-- that helped us maximize space and keep the kitchen tidy! If you're thinking about vacationing here-- book now-- you've found a true gem in a beautiful spot. Thanks so much for sharing your space with us!!

We had a long weekend with our two grown sons, daughter in law, and granddaughter. What a great place to hang out and spend time together. We will all be back this summer to swim and play in the river.

Great Spot on the River

  • 4 of 5

This is a really nice property. House was clean, with plenty of linens for our large party. It is on a fantastic stretch of river. I was surprised by the amount of river front, and it is all nicely shaded. We made good use of the canoe and raft, putting in at Johnson Springs for a 4-5 hour float back to the property. The day before, some of us played golf at Cliff View Golf Club, which is about 5 minutes away. Others went mountain biking at Douthat State Park, which was a 30-40 minute drive. Owners were excellent to deal with; very responsive. Even though they had a lot on their plate, they made time to deliver the raft trailer to the property before our arrival. I recommend this rental.

a very welcoming, family oiented atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

For 3 nights a mix of family members from age 67 years to 6 months old stayed here and had a wonderful time. The kitchen was well stocked. The rooms were fresh and clean. The decorating was very tasteful. The property was beautiful and so much fun. The owner's description is right on! One suggestion is to have a latch on the sliding door of the smaller bathroom. The young teenager was very uncomfortable using a bathroom that didn't have a lock. The outdoor toys were great! We used the raft twice. Its not an easy excursion but lots of fun.

Had an amazing getaway weekend with family and friends at this beautiful home. Mike was very helpful with all my questions concerning my reservation. We utilized the kayaks and rafts that were available to us and we had a blast going down the river! This is defiantly an amazing place to take family for vacation and I will be returning next year!!
